Updates, highlights

Three starters active: The Packers will have linebacker Quay Walker, safety Evan Williams and defensive lineman TJ Slaton available — all three are active. Walker and Williams are returning after missing three straight games to end the regular season. Defensive end Brenton Cox Jr. — who had sacks in four of his last seven games — is back after missing the season finale. Can they help the Packers stand tall defensively against Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley?

Disaster start: Keisean Nixon fumbled the opening kickoff, Carrington Valentine missed a tackle on an explosive run by Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts had all day to throw on an 11-yard touchdown pass to Jahan Dotson. It’s 7-0 and this game is only 99 seconds old. Packers need to find their footing and respond quick.

Eagles go up 10-0: The Packers punted on back-to-back possessions, and the Eagles took over after the second punt, drove 57 yards in 11 yards and kicked a field goal to go up 10-0. Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts both had rushes over 15 yards.

Packers lose Jenkins, Wyatt: The Packers ruled out Elgton Jenkins (shoulder) and Devonte Wyatt (lower leg) with injuries.

Gary sack helps end drive: The Eagles punted the ball back to the Packers after their first possession stalled following back-to-back disruptive plays, including a sack from Rashan Gary on second down. The Packers defense is holding strong and keeping Green Bay in the game.

Packers get on the board: The Packers finally sustained a drive on offense, going 76 yards in 12 plays to set up a short field goal. A big catch from Dontayvion Wicks on third down and a pass interference penalty from Eagles rookie Quinyon Mitchell (against Wicks) helped the drive.

Doubs hurt: Packers receiver Romeo Doubs fell hard on his head in the end zone and is being evaluated for another concussion. He suffered a confirmed concussion against the 49ers on Nov. 24 and missed two games.

Eagles respond quickly: The Packers defense finally wilted, and the Eagles drove 68 yards in just five plays to respond to Green Bay’s field goal. Dallas Goedert rumbled through Carrington Valentine and scored a 22-yard touchdown. Jake Elliott missed the extra point. It’s 16-3. The Packers are in big trouble.

Josh Jacobs beast mode: Just watch.

Packers cut lead to 16-10: Josh Jacobs, Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks gained first downs, and Jacobs went Beast Mode to set up his own 1-yard touchdown run. The 78-yard touchdown drive has the Packers within six point with 14:56 left

Packers back down two scores: Jake Elliott hit a 30-yard field goal to put the Eagles back up two scores at 19-10. There’s 7:33 left. Can the Packers get two scores?

Season ends: The Packers lost 22-10 after turning the ball over four times and suffering numerous injuries. Green Bay ended the season on a three-game losing streak.

CHI 24, GB 22: Cairo Santos 50-yard field goal (0:00)

Updates, highlights

Watson active, Doubs out: The Packers will have Christian Watson, who is returning from a bone bruise on his knee, but Romeo Doubs is out for the season finale due to an illness.

Gary sacks created three-and-out: Caleb Williams couldn’t handle a shotgun snap on the Bears’ first play from scrimmage, and Rashan Gary — a newly minted Pro Bowler — beat a block and made the sack. The Bears punted three plays later.

Tricky Bears strike first: The Bears took a 7-0 lead on a trick play punt return that Josh Blackwell returned 94 yards for a touchdown. The Bears punt return team faked a return to the Packers’ right, but Josh Blackwell caught the punt at the 6-yard line to the opposite side and returned it untouched for a score.

LaFleur wins challenge, Packers get FG: Matt LaFleur won his first challenge of the 2024 season, turning an incompletion into a 19-yard catch by Luke Musgrave, and the Packers got on the board with a 37-yard field goal from Brandon McManus.

Reed fumble sets up another Bears TD: The Bears took a 14-3 lead after Jayden Reed fumbled in Packers territory, D.J. Moore made a 15-yard gain on a screen and D’Andre Swift powered into the end zone. The Packers are sleepwalking in this first half.

Watson, Love both suffer injuries: Christian Watson went down with a non-contact knee injury and Jordan Love went out with hand injury. Both are considered questionable to return.

Jacobs touchdown: The Packers cut the lead to 14-10 on this Josh Jacobs touchdown, his 15th of the season.

X interception: Packers safety Xavier McKinney produced his eighth interception on a poorly thrown ball from Bears receiver Keenan Allen, who got the ball on a gadget play. McKinney is the first Packers defender to eight picks since Charles Woodson in 2009.

Bears extend lead to 8: The Bears got a 32-yard catch-and-run score from D.J. Moore to extend the lead to 21-13 in the fourth quarter. The Packers still haven’t returned Jordan Love to the game, so it’ll be up to Malik Willis to create the comeback.

Heath and Wilson combine for magic touchdown drive: The Packers are still alive. Malik Heath made an incredible 41-yard catch on third-and-forever, and Emanuel Wilson scampered into the end zone for a 21-yard score a play later. The Packers failed on the two-point conversion. It’s 21-19.

Packers take lead: Carrington Valentine forced a fumble on D.J. Moore, and Brandon McManus nailed a 55-yard field goal with 54 seconds left. It’s 22-21. Unbelievable kick in the frigid conditions at Lambeau Field.

Bears win: D.J. Moore got the Bears into field goal position, and Cairo Santos connected on a 50-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Bears to a 24-22 win. The Packers are headed to Philadelphia for the first round of the postseason.

Live score, updates and highlights from Packers vs. Vikings in Week 17

Follow along with Packers Wire for live updates and highlights from Packers vs. Vikings in Week 17 of the 2024 season on Sunday.

The Green Bay Packers are in Minneapolis for a big-time showdown with the Minnesota Vikings — who have won eight straight games — on Sunday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The matchup — America’s Game of the Week on FOX — should be the perfect road playoff test for a Packers team that has been ascending on both offense and defense since the bye week.

The 11-4 Packers can still jump the 13-2 Vikings in the standings but would need a win Sunday and both a win over the Chicago Bears and a Vikings loss to the Detroit Lions next Sunday.

Fourth quarter

MIN 27, GB 18: Emanuel Wilson 5-yard run (6:12)
MIN 27, GB 25: Malik Heath 3-yard catch (2:18)

Updates, highlights

Watson inactive: The Packers will be without wide receiver Christian Watson, who is inactive with a knee injury. However, rookie defensive back Javon Bullard is returning from a two-game absence. Three defensive starters — cornerback Jaire Alexander, linebacker Quay Walker and safety Evan Williams — are out. The Vikings are healthy.

Jacobs fumbles early: The Packers picked up a pair of first downs on the opening drive, but Josh Jacobs fumbled inside Minnesota territory at the end of a 7-yard run. Tough start after winning the toss and taking the ball.

Nixon prevents touchdown: Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon broke up what could have been a 39-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Addison, and the Vikings missed a 57-yard field goal two plays later. The score remains 0-0, and the Packers are getting the ball near midfield. Huge potential swing here.

Packers strike first: A couple of nice runs from Josh Jacobs, a first down from Tucker Kraft and a penalty on Minnesota set up the Packers’ first points of the contest. Unable to convert on third-and-long inside the 10-yard line, Matt LaFleur kicked the short field goal. It’s 3-0.

Nailor touchdown gives Vikings the lead: The Vikings took a 7-3 lead on Jalen Nailor’s 31-yard touchdown catch. Nailor got open on a deep post from the slot. Sam Darnold was barely pressured on the drive, which went 77 yards in nine plays.

Vikings add 3: After the Packers failed to convert a fourth down at Minnesota’s 23-yard line, the Vikings drove the field and ended up with a short field goal from Will Reichard.

Vikings lead 13-3 at half: A questionable offside call negated a 55-yard field goal miss from Will Reichard, and the rookie kicker connected given a second opportunity.

Slipping away: The Vikings have a commanding lead after Sam Darnold engineered a nine-play, 70-yard touchdown drive to open the second half. Jordan Addison finished it with an 18-yard scoring catch. It’s 20-3 Vikings, and the Packers are reeling.

Valentine makes huge play: The Packers are alive after Carrington Valentine’s interception of Sam Darnold. Credit Karl Brooks for following the play and recovering Valentine’s fumble. Pressure hurried Darnold’s throw.

Packers convert: Josh Jacobs converted Carrington Valentine’s interception into seven points with a 2-yard touchdown run. Jacobs now has a touchdown run in seven straight games. It’s 20-10. Can the Packers get more stops?

Vikings respond, go back up 17: So much for getting stops. The Vikings marched right down the field and scored another touchdown to reclaim a 17-point lead. The Packers are likely going to be heading into the fourth quarter down three scores.

Packers cut lead to 9: Bo Melton made a contested catch on third down, Tucker Kraft created an explosive play for 35 yards and Emanuel Wilson run in a 5-yard touchdown with just over six minutes left. Romeo Doubs converted the two-point to cut the lead to 27-18.

Game on: The Packers got a stop, and then drove 62 yards for a quick touchdown before the two-minute warning. Jordan Love hit Malik Heath for a 4-yard touchdown after connecting on several big plays on the drive. It’s 27-25. Can the Packers get one more stop and one more score to pull this off?

Fourth quarter

GB 27, NO 0: Brandon McManus 46-yard field goal (7:13)
GB 34, NO 0: Emanuel Wilson 1-yard run (2:41)

Updates, highlights

Packers without four defensive starters: The Saints are lacking a ton of firepower on offense, including quarterback Derek Carr and running back Alvin Kamara, but the Packers will be without four starters on defense: linebacker Quay Walker, cornerback Jaire Alexander, defensive back Javon Bullard and safety Evan Williams are all inactive with injuries. This could be a good test for Jeff Hafley’s unexpectedly short-handed defense. The Saints will start rookie Spencer Rattler at quarterback.

Packers open with TD: Jordan Love completed four passes, Josh Jacobs produced 40 total yards and Dontayvion Wicks finished off the 63-yard march with a 2-yard touchdown catch. The 10-play drive took over six minutes and required two third-down conversions. Like last week, the Packers lead 7-0 after one drive.

Packers go on marathon TD drive: The Packers took a 14-0 lead after driving 96 yards in 17 plays. Green Bay converted two third downs and two fourth downs, and Josh Jacobs finished the drive with a 2-yard touchdown run. Matt LaFleur’s team is cruising.

Packers in control: A third drive meant a third touchdown. Chris Brooks scored a 1-yard touchdown to put the Packers up 21-0. Six plays, 67 yards. Christian Watson turned two touches into 23 yards, and Tucker Kraft had a 30-yard catch.

And now a takeaway: The Packers defense is pitching a shutout through three drives. The Saints third possession entered Green Bay territory but Keisean Nixon ended it with a strip-sack. Rashan Gary won the race to the fumble.

McManus good from 55: Veteran kicker Brandon McManus booted home a 55-yard field goal — during a night game at Lambeau Field in December — to give the Packers a 24-0 lead. That’s a big-time kick. McManus has been a huge in-season addition.

Another takeaway: The Packers got a second turnover off Spencer Rattler and preserved the shutout (for now) when Zayne Anderson — making his first career start — grabbed his first career interception.

Another McManus FG: Jayden Reed’s 37-yard catch on third down extended the drive and set up another field goal from Brandon McManus, this time from 46 yards out. The Packers lead 27-0 in the fourth quarter. It’s playoff clinching time at Lambeau Field.

Game over: Malik Willis hit Jayden Reed for another 30-yard completion, and Emanuel Wilson powered into the end zone to extend the Packers’ lead to 34-0. Game, set, match. The Packers will be 11-4.

Updates, highlights

Packers inactives: Matt LaFleur’s team will be without cornerback Jaire Alexander and rookie defensive back Javon Bullard, and receiver Malik Heath and offensive lineman Jacob Monk are healthy scratches. Kenneth Walker III, Seattle’s dynamic running back, is out with a calf injury.

Jacobs powers opening drive TD: The Packers gave the ball to No. 8 on eight straight plays to open the game, and Jacobs finished off the 10-play drive with a 1-yard rushing touchdown. Jacobs gained 44 total yards, Jordan Love completed both passes and the Packers got 15 free yards on an unnecessary roughness penalty. Terrific start. 7-0.

Third down sack: Welcome back, Edgerrin Cooper. The rookie linebacker blitzed on third down and took down Geno Smith to end Seattle’s first drive. Cooper also had a tackle on the kickoff. He had missed the last three games with a hamstring injury.

Packers go up 14-0: It’s ALL Packers early. Green Bay drove 80 yards in eight plays and scored on Romeo Doubs’ 13-yard touchdown catch. Josh Jacobs had a 19-yard run. Jayden Reed had three touches. The Packers are rolling.

Another third down sack forces field goal: The Seahawks approached the red zone, but Kingsley Enagbare delivered a tackle for loss on second down and Rashan Gary finished off the drive with a sack on third down, forcing a 48-yard field goal from Jason Myers. It’s 14-3.

Packers respond with field goal: The Packers got a third-down conversion from Dontayvion Wicks and a 36-yard catch from Christian Watson to set up a field goal from Brandon McManus.

Red zone pick: On 3rd-and-9 from inside the red zone, Eric Wilson won as a blitzer and pressured Geno Smith into a poor throw, and Carrington Valentine picked it off in the end zone to end a scoring threat. It’s still 17-3. Huge play for the Packers defense.

Another score: The Packers scored on all four of their first half drives. After Valentine’s pick, Green Bay drove 83 yards to set up a short field goal from McManus. Tucker Kraft caught a 26-yard pass on a free play, and Romeo Doubs drew a 34-yard pass interference penalty. Instead of risking the points with four seconds left, Matt LaFleur decided to kick the field goal from the 4-yard line. 20-3.

Seahawks get 3, Geno hurt: A poor punt from Daniel Whelan set up the Seahawks around midfield, and Seattle got three points out of the opportunity. The big news? Geno Smith appeared to injure his ankle and departed the game. Backup Sam Howell finished the drive.

Watson leads FG drive: Christian Watson drew a 40-yard pass interference penalty, made a third down contested catch to extend the drive and nearly picked up another third down inside the red zone. The Packers settled for a 23-yard field goal from Brandon McManus to extend the lead back out to 17 points at 23-6.

Third quarter ends with Enagbare drive: Kingsley Enagbare had a three-play sequence every edge rusher dreams of against Sam Howell. Enagbare sacked Howell on first and third down and added a tackle of Howell on a scramble on second down. The Seahawks will be punting down three scores to start the fourth quarter.

Jacobs fumble sets up Seahawks touchdown: Jordan Love missed a wide open Romeo Doubs on first down, and Josh Jacobs fumbled away the ball on second down — giving the ball to the Seahawks, who promptly drove for a score. Zach Charbonnet scored from 24 yards on a well-blocked run. It’s 23-13. The Packers have dominated but now need a drive here to seal the deal.

Edge Cooper INT: Dagger? Edgerrin Cooper intercepted Sam Howell after Josh Jacobs was stuffed on fourth down. The Packers now have the ball in Seahawks territory up 10 points.

Love to Doubs dagger: On third down, Jordan Love hit Romeo Doubs for a 22-yard touchdown to push the Packers’ lead to 30-13 in the fourth quarter. Game over.

DET 34, GB 31: Jake Bates 35-yard field goal (0:00)

Updates, highlights

Packers inactives: The Packers already ruled out cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Corey Ballentine, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper and receiver Romeo Doubs. Rookie Jacob Monk is a healthy scratch. The Lions don’t have left tackle Taylor Decker or defensive lineman DJ Reader, plus 17 others on injured reserve currently.

Lions roar early: Detroit took the ball and went 70 yards in 11 plays to score the game’s first points. The Lions converted a pair of third downs, got an explosive run from David Montgomery, an explosive reception from Jameson Williams and a walk-in touchdown run from Montgomery. A holding penalty had the Lions at 1st-and-goal from the 20 and Detroit still scored seven points. Ouch. Rough start.

Big sack for Rashan Gary: The Packers defense delivered a three-and-out thanks to Rashan Gary’s third down sack.

Watson fumble turns into 3: Christian Watson lost a fumble while hurdling over a defender, and the Lions turned the takeaway into three points. A defensive stand after a personal foul penalty on Quay Walker prevented more damage on the scoreboard.

Packers strike, finally: Matt LaFleur leaned on the run game and the Packers drove the field for a much-needed touchdown. It was a chaotic drive, fill of penalties from both sides, but Josh Jacobs plunged in from one yard out — his fourth straight game with a rushing touchdown — to cut the lead to 10-7.

Lions score on 4th-and-goal: On fourth down from the 2-yard line, Dan Campbell rolled the dice, and Ben Johnson delivered the perfect call. Jahmyr Gibbs beat Isaiah McDuffie on an angle route and scored an easy touchdown to put the Lions back up by 10. It’s 17-7.

Packers strike fast to start third: Christian Watson caught a 59-yard bomb from Jordan Love, and Tucker Kraft converted 3rd-and-10 with a 12-yard touchdown catch to get the Packers right back into it. Impressive start to the second half.

Interception, quick touchdown give Packers the lead: Keisean Nixon intercepted Jared Goff, and Josh Jacobs rumbled into the end zone to give the Packers a 21-17 lead. An amazing sequence. Nixon undercut a short throw and returned the pick to the 16-yard line. Three plays later, the Packers hurried to the line and Jacobs broke a tackle or two on a 6-yard touchdown. Just like that, the Packers erased a 17-7 deficit and now lead by four.

Lions score again on fourth down: For the second time tonight and the third time in the series this season, the Lions scored a fourth down touchdown from inside the 5-yard line. On 4th-and-goal from the 3-yard line, Jared Goff hit Tim Patrick for the score. Eric Wilson was scrambling to get lined up pre-snap and the Lions threw it right past him for the touchdown. Detroit has the lead back, 24-21.

Fourth down stop, TD No. 3 for Jacobs: The Packers defense delivered a fourth-down stop at the 31-yard line, and Josh Jacobs rumbled in for his third touchdown. Quay Walker delivered the stop. Tucker Kraft delivered the big play to set up the touchdown. The Packers now lead 28-24. What a game.

Back and forth: The Lions re-take the lead on a 10-play, 70-yard scoring drive. Tim Patrick’s touchdown catch against the lousy coverage of Eric Stokes gave the Lions a 31-28 lead with eight and a half minutes to go.

Tie game: A touchdown pass was negated by penalty, but the Packers still got the game tied with a 32-yard field goal from Brandon McManus. The Lions will get the ball back with 3:38 to go in the fourth quarter. Game on the line. Can Jeff Hafley’s defense get a huge stop?

Bates walks it off: The Packers defense could not stop the Lions, and Jake Bates knocked home a 35-yard field goal to win the game as time expired.

Impressive drive ends in the end zone: The Packers drove 76 yards in 12 plays — overcoming a drop from Dontayvion Wicks — to go up 14-0. Tucker Kraft converted 3rd-and-3 with a 17-yard catch, and Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson did the rest — running the ball right down Miami’s throat. Another impressive start at home for the Packers.

Love to Reed adds to lead: Jordan Love and Jayden Reed hooked up for another touchdown, this time a 12-yarder on a bubble screen. Christian Watson and Dontayvion Wicks provided the blocks and Reed did the rest. It’s Packers 21, Dolphins 3 with 96 seconds left in the first half.

Packers take 24-3 lead into half: After a fourth-down stop, Jordan Love drove the Packers into field goal range, and Brandon McManus banged home a 46-yard field goal as time expired in the first half — giving Green Bay a commanding 24-3 lead at the half.

Another explosive play sets up FG: Jordan Love hit Christian Watson on a deep ball, and Brandon McManus finished off the drive with a short field goal to push Green Bay’s lead to 24. It’s 27-3.

Dolphins finally find the end zone: Miami needed a drive, and Tua Tagovailoa delivered it. His touchdown pass to De’Von Achane finished off a 70-yard drive, and his perfect throw to Jaylen Waddle converted the two-point attempt. The Packers now lead by 16 with about 18 minutes left.

Huge play from Quay: On 4th-and-goal from the 1-yard line, Packers linebacker Quay Walker flew downhill and stuffed Tua Tagovailoa for a sack and a turnover on downs.

Packers drive for 3: Thanks to an incredible play from Josh Jacobs, the Packers were able to drive the field and put up three more points — extending the lead back to three scores.

Updates, highlights

Trent Williams inactive: Not only will the 49ers not have Brock Purdy, Nick Bosa and Charvarius Ward, but Trent Williams is inactive. Talk about short-handed. The 49ers won’t have their quarterback, left tackle, top edge rusher or top corner. The Packers made Kitan Oladapo and Jacob Monk inactive as healthy scratches. Jaire Alexander and Edgerrin Cooper are both out.

Packers open with TD: The Packers got 39 rushing yards from Josh Jacobs, including a pair of runs over 10 yards, and the offense overcame a red-zone penalty with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Tucker Kraft on a tight end screen. The scoring drive took up almost half the first quarter — 12 plays, 67 yards, 7:25.

McManus adds to first quarter lead: The Packers are dominating, and they now lead 10-0. Brandon McManus connected on a 51-yard field goal after a promising drive stalled. Both Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson had nice runs on the drive. The Packers already have 87 rushing yards.

Domination early: The Packers went up 17-0 on Josh Jacobs’ 1-yard touchdown run. A pair of third down conversions to Romeo Doubs kept the drive moving. The Packers are dominating yards, plays and time of possession.

49ers respond: The 49ers won’t go quietly. Brandon Allen led an 11-play, 65-yard drive and finished it off with a touchdown pass to George Kittle to cut the lead to 17-7. The 49ers get the ball to start the second half, too.

Watson drop, fourth down stop to sandwich halftime: The Packers could have taken a 24-7 lead into the half, but Christian Watson dropped what should have been a 49-yard touchdown. After a holding call wiped out a long return from Deebo Samuel to open the second half, the Packers defense delivered a fourth down stop when Xavier McKinney broke up a pass intended for Christian McCaffrey.

No. 7 for X: The Packers needed another big play on defense, and guess who provided it? Xavier McKinney. He intercepted Brandon Allen’s pass — which went through the hands of Deebo Samuel — and returned the pick deep into 49ers territory. Interception No. 7 for McKinney.

Packers turn pick into 7: Following Xavier McKinney’s interception, the Packers got a defensive pass interference penalty in the end zone and a 1-yard touchdown run from Josh Jacobs to go up 24-7.

Dagger? LVN/Jacobs combine: Lukas Van Ness had a strip sack, and Josh Jacobs powered in his third rushing touchdown of the contest to put the Packers up 31-10. Green Bay has 14 points off two 49ers turnovers.

Game over: The Packers got another takeaway, this time on a forced fumble created by Keisean Nixon, and Jordan Love and Malik Heath finished off the drive with a 3-yard touchdown.

Jaire, Evan Williams both active: The Packers will return starting defensive backs Jaire Alexander and Evan Williams from injuries on Sunday. The only injured player for the Packers in the inactive list is defensive lineman Colby Wooden.

Packers strike first, and fast: Green Bay took the opening kickoff and marched 70 yards to take a 7-0 lead. Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson combined for 38 rushing yards, and Jordan Love completed a pair of passes — one on an extended play to Romeo Doubs and another on a free play touchdown pass to Jayden Reed. The Packers did not face a third down on the scoring drive.

Bears score on first drive: Caleb Williams’ scramble on third down and a quick screen to D.J. Moore set up a 53-yard field goal on the Bears’ opening drive. It’s 7-3 Packers.

Brenton Cox Jr.’s first sack: The first career sack from Brenton Cox Jr. helped end a first-half drive for the Bears. Cox also had a tackle for loss in the first quarter.

Bears take lead: Jordan Love threw an interception on third down in the red zone, and the Bears marched down the field to take the lead with seconds to go before halftime. Chicago drove 76 yards over 13 plays to go up 10-7. A terribly frustrating first half for the Packers coming out of the bye

Injury update: Cornerback Jaire Alexander is questionable to return with a knee injury.

Bears extend lead: Another scoring drive for the Bears. The 61-yard drive ended with a short field goal after the Packers held on 3rd-and-4 in the red zone. The Bears have scored 13 straight points.

Quick response, red zone touchdown: After falling behind 13-7, the Packers used their first possession of the second half to put together a quick go-ahead scoring drive. Jordan Love hit Christian Watson for 27 yards, and Josh Jacobs scored a 7-yard rushing touchdown. Packers 14, Bears 13.

Bears re-take lead on long TD: D’Andre Swift’s 39-yard touchdown run has the Bears back on top. The Packers stopped the two-point conversion.

Love’s go-ahead touchdown: Jordan Love hit Christian Watson for a 60-yard gain, then got to the 1-yard line on a scramble and scored the go-ahead score on a quarterback sneak with 2:59 to go in the fourth. The two-point conversion attempt failed, but the Packers lead 20-19.

PACKERS BLOCK FIELD GOAL: The Bears lined up a 46-yard field goal to win the game, but Karl Brooks got penetration and blocked the kick, securing a remarkable 20-19 win.

Jaire, Myers both inactive: The Packers will have to face the Lions Sunday without top cornerback Jaire Alexander and starting center Josh Myers, who are both inactive with injuries. Rookie safety Evan Williams is also inactive because of a hamstring injury. The Lions don’t have starting linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez. Also of note: Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs are both active, as expected.

Opening drive leads to FG: The Packers marched 63 yards in 14 plays to get on the board first. The drive took up almost eight minutes of the first quarter clock and finished with a short field goal from Brandon McManus. Josh Jacobs ran six times for 35 yards, and Tucker Kraft converted a fourth down with a sneak. Jordan Love and Chris Brooks just missed on converting a third down in the red zone. Packers 3, Lions 0.

Fourth-down gamble pays off: The Lions took the lead after converting on 4th-and-goal. Jared Goff hit Amon Ra-St. Brown against the coverage of Keisean Nixon for a 3-yard touchdown. David Montgomery rushed for 39 yards, and Goff completed all five of his passes. The rain didn’t slow down the Lions at all early.

Branch ejected: Lions defensive back Brian Branch was ejected after illegally hitting Bo Melton on a third down play in the second quarter. The Packer were unable to make good on the penalty after Tucker Kraft dropped a pass on third down and Brandon McManus missed a 46-yard field goal.

Lions settle for field goal: Another long drive from the Lions resulted in a field goal. The Packers got a much-needed stop in the red zone while blitzing Jared Goff on third down. The Lions only had one third down before entering the red zone. Lions 10, Packers 3.

Disaster: Kerby Joseph intercepted an attempted dump-off pass from Jordan Love and returned the pick 27 yards for a touchdown. Disaster. The Packers’ warts are showing in the first half. Lions 17, Packers 3.

Game over? The Lions took the second half kickoff and ran the ball down the Packers’ throats. A penalty on Keisean Nixon extended the drive, and Jahmyr Gibbs did the rest. It’s 24-3 Lions.

Lead cut to 18: A promising drive ended quickly in the red zone thanks to two misplayed snaps from Elgton Jenkins and Jordan Love. Facing 4th-and-16, Matt LaFleur picked the field goal to cut the lead to 24-6.

Finally, a touchdown: The Packers got their first touchdown of the game with just under four minutes left. Emanuel Wilson finished off the drive with a two-yard scoring run, and Christian Watson added the two-point conversion. Lions 24, Packers 14.
