The Ohio State baseball team got back in the winning column Friday night with an 11-6 win in Nashville over Lipscomb. With it, head coach Greg Beals notched his 300th career victory with Ohio State.
The game stayed scoreless until the bottom of the 3rd inning when Lipscomb strung together four-straight hits with two outs to take a 3-0 lead.
The Buckeyes struck right back however in the top of the 4th inning, plating two runs on a couple of RBI singles by Mitchell Okuley and Marcus Ernst. Suddenly a quick answer made it 3-2 Bison.
After holding Lipscomb scoreless in the bottom of the 4th, the Buckeyes struck again in the top of the 5th inning. Scottie Seymour singled home the tying run with two outs, then Nate Karaffa hit got a big two-out, two-run single with the bases loaded to give the Buckeyes a 5-3 advantage.
The offense exploded in the 6th inning with five more runs, highlighted by a three-run shot by Karaffa to blow things wide open 10-3. Meanwhile, on the bump, Garrett Burhenn settled in, allowing just the one major blip in the 3rd inning, and finishing with nine hits, four earned runs, and a career-high nine strikeouts to get the win.

OSU added one more run in the top of the eighth on a Zach Dezenzo RBI single, and the Bison got one run in the 7th and two more in the 9th to finish up the scoring and give Ohio State the win.
The Buckeyes improved their record to 3-4 and will be back at it again against Lipscomb at 3:00 PM. Ohio State ace Seth Lonsway gets the start.
