ESPN’s College GameDay predict winner of Texas A&M vs. Notre Dame

The College GameDay hosts are high on the Aggies ahead of Saturday’s showdown

Just hours before Texas A&M hosts the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday night, ESPN’s College Gameday descended on College Station, Texas, bringing the usual pre-game fun that offers plenty of entertainment for the earlier weekend risers who tune in.

As the festivities came to a close, the GameDay hosts, including Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban, Lee Corso, and Kirk Herbstreit, joined guest picker Johnny Manziel to select every marquee game on the week 1 schedule, culminating in Saturday’s prime-time showdown.

While the predictions throughout the week have favored the Aggies due to the effect that Kyle Field and the 12th Man present, especially in night games, Notre Dame’s veteran defense littered with preseason All-Americans will be challenging for A&M’s offense under new OC Collin Klein.

However, Texas A&M’s deep D-line, led by former Purdue defensive end Nic Scourton, has a chance to be elite. It will face a Notre Dame offensive line with just six combined starts between all five starters.

Well, Howard, Saban, Manziel, and Pat McAfee all predicted that Texas A&M would come out victorious, but to avoid the GameDay curse, Lee Corso, in his usual fashion, trotted out in a leprechaun costume, picking the Fighting Irish to escape with a win.

See Lee Corso dressed as a Leprechaun on ESPN College GameDay

Looking good coach!

If you didn’t know already, [autotag]Lee Corso[/autotag] was the only panelist to pick Notre Dame to defeat Texas A&M tonight on ESPN College GameDay.

Like he does with every pick of the host game, the former coach either dons the mascots head or wears an outfit. Corso went with the Leprechaun gear on Saturday, as he snuck off mid-segment to put his Irish gear on.

When he left, you had a feeling he was going to pick Notre Dame, as it would have been easy for him to stay on set and just pull out the Aggies mascot head. Check out Corso’s outfit below.

Not sure we’d wear this every day of the week, but it sure works on football Saturday’s.

Lee Corso projects Notre Dame makes a deep run in the College Football Playoff

What do you think of Corso’s prediction?

We have seen many peoples projections for the [autotag]College Football Playoff[/autotag] and while a good amount of them include Notre Dame, not all of them have.

During ESPN’s College GameDay, [autotag]Lee Corso[/autotag] made his prediction that the Irish will be one of the final four teams standing. He also has Georgia, Ohio State and Texas as his semi-finalists, which would be a great result for Notre Dame.

By using Corso’s logic, the Irish most likely would host a first-round game in South Bend before moving onto neutral site to continue their run. He thinks another win would come for Notre Dame, getting them to the “main event.”

We all hope that Corso is correct, as the Irish are set up to make a deep run into the CFP.

Fans were so happy to see 89-year-old Lee Corso return to College GameDay

It’s just not a fall Saturday without Lee Corso on TV

When ESPN’s College GameDay officially kicked off the season in Dublin, Ireland last weekend, Lee Corso did not make the trip.

As the show’s first episode on campus prepared to go live from Texas A&M in College Station on Saturday, there was still a little concern over whether or not Corso would be there.

But when the lights turned on and the theme music began playing, there was Corso at 89 years old, sitting behind the desk between Nick Saban and Kirk Herbstreit looking absolutely giddy to be back on set.

The coach noted that this is his 38th year with ESPN and it truly feels like it’s been both longer and shorter for those who’ve been watching him all these seasons.

College football and GameDay fans were so happy to see Corso again. Now the season can officially start.

College GameDay: Who’s on ESPN’s crew for 2024?

The College GameDay team for the 2024 college football season.

While the college football landscape with realignment, plus the College Football Playoff expansion, will make the sport look and feel a bit different this season, ESPN’s College GameDay has been updated too.

Former Alabama football coach and legend Nick Saban made his official debut on College GameDay in Week 0 from Dublin, where the college football staple broadcasted its first international show. Unsurprisingly, Saban was fantastic and even made some season-long picks and predictions.

Saban should continue to be a fun and enlightening addition as he joins the rest of the GameDay crew, which remains unchanged from the 2023 college football season.

Rece Davis will host and will be joined by analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and, of course, the one and only Lee Corso, who wasn’t part of the Dublin broadcast but is expected to return to the show for stateside broadcasts.

In addition to the core group, Pete Thamel, Jen Lada, ‘Stanford Steve’ Coughlin and Jess Sims are all returning to College GameDay.

Lee Corso trolled Washington fans after picking Michigan to win the national championship game

Go easy on ’em, Lee Corso!

ESPN veteran college football personality Lee Corso made his always anticipated pick for the College Football Playoff national championship game, and he got a little trolling in for the heck of it.

Corso put on a Michigan helmet to signify him picking the Wolverines to topple the Washington Huskies in Monday night’s title game, and he decided to give all the Washington fans in the crowd a hysterically sarcastic wave after he made the pick.

We’re sure all the Huskies fans wanted him to sport a purple helmet to ride with Washington, but Corso clearly felt the favorites had the momentum and wasn’t afraid to have a little fun with his selection.

Corso is one of the most beloved personalities in the game, and we’re sure the Washington fans took this very light joking in stride.

Hey, if the Huskies upset the Wolverines, they’d have the last laugh and make Corso look silly for his pick in the process.

Lee Corso makes his pick for the Rose Bowl CFP semifinal

Lee Corso makes his official pick between No. 1 Michigan and No. 4 Alabama in the Rose Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal.

By the end of tonight, we will know which two teams will be competing for a national championship. The first College Football Playoff semifinal is the Rose Bowl between top-ranked Michigan and No. 4 Alabama. ESPN’s College GameDay was broadcasting live from Pasadena, California, the home of the historic Rose Bowl Stadium.

While many have tried their best to guess who wins and what the score will be between the Wolverines and the Crimson Tide, Lee Corso was confident in his weekly headgear pick for the Rose Bowl.

Alabama fans may want to look away, but Corso is picking against the Tide and is rolling with Jim Harbaugh and Michigan. It’s worth noting that of all four teams in the playoffs this season, only one team is new to the playoffs (Texas), and only one has ever won a playoff game (Alabama).

Alabama and Michigan kick things off at the Rose Bowl at 5:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.

College GameDay: See Lee Corso’s headgear pick for Army vs. Navy at Gillette Stadium

Lee Corso’s headgear pick for the 2023 Army-Navy game was hardly a surprise.

There’s only one FBS game in Week 15, and, of course, it’s the Army-Navy game, featuring some standout uniform looks from both teams, as usual.

That also meant that ESPN’s College GameDay show was in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Saturday ahead of the big game, and it had so much of the pageantry you’d expect from the annual Army-Navy game. This year, the game is at Gillette Stadium, and New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was the guest picker.

The Black Knights, on a three-game win streak, are 2.5-point favorites over the Midshipmen. But it should come as no surprise that when it came time for legendary broadcaster Lee Corso to make his weekly headgear pick, the former Navy defensive backs coach went with the Midshipmen: “Go Navy! Beat Army!”

College GameDay: See Lee Corso’s headgear pick for No. 2 Georgia vs. No. 9 Ole Miss

Corso didn’t have to do Uga like that

While most of the college football world was busy focusing on the madness with Michigan at Penn State on Saturday, there were plenty of other intriguing storylines across the sport.

Florida State-Miami, Washington-Utah and Missouri-Tennessee are some of the big games in Week 11. And of course there’s Ole Miss at Georgia.

That’s where ESPN’s College GameDay found itself on a rainy Saturday morning and where Lee Corso came face to face with Uga XI.

Yet no matter how much Corso insulted the sweet puppy’s looks, the coach couldn’t help but fall in love with the Bulldogs against Mississippi in the SEC clash.

We don’t care what Corso says, that’s a good boy right there.

ESPN ‘College GameDay’ crew picks winner between No. 6 Oregon and USC

The ESPN College GameDay crew made their picks for the game between the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans on Saturday morning.

Going into the season, almost every Oregon fan had this weekend circled on their calendars as the most likely opportunity for ESPN’s “College GameDay” to come to Eugene. The Ducks face the USC Trojans.

In the preseason, this was a top-15 matchup projected to have major Pac-12 championship and College Football Playoff ramifications.

That’s not how events have played out, though. The Trojans have struggled. USC is coming off of back-to-back losses, dropping three of their last four games. In contrast, the Ducks have flourished. They are ranked No. 6 in the nation.

So GameDay set up shop in Athens for Georgia-Ole Miss. That didn’t stop the crew from picking the Oregon-USC game on Saturday morning, though.

Here’s who everyone on the GameDay crew picked:
