Chargers at Raiders odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Raiders 24, Chargers 20

Money line

The Raiders are peaking at the right time and have not allowed more than 20 points in any of their last three games. Earlier in the season, the only way they won was by scoring 30 or more points, but they have won their last three without scoring more than 23.

The Chargers allowed 41 to the Houston Texans two weeks ago. They allow an average of 26.5 points per game.

Their defense will get in the way.

Take the RAIDERS (+133).

Against the spread

The Chargers are 8-8 ATS compared to the Raiders’ 7-9 ATS.

The Raiders have won their last two games as an underdog. The Chargers are 4-7 ATS in their last 11 after a 4-3 ATS start to the season.

The Raiders are playing their best ball right now.

Take the RAIDERS +3.5 (-125).

Over/Under

Each of the last five games for the Chargers have gone Over the projected total. Eight of their last 10 have hit the Over.

The last three games for the Raiders and four of the last five have stayed Under the projected total.

Take UNDER 48.5 (-108).

Las Vegas Raiders at Indianapolis Colts odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Las Vegas Raiders at Indianapolis Colts Week 17 odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Las Vegas Raiders (8-7) and Indianapolis Colts (9-6) face off Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium in a critical Week 17 AFC battle. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (on FOX). Below, we look at the Raiders vs. Colts odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

With two weeks remaining in the regular season, the Raiders are currently ninth in the conference, on the outside looking up at the seven playoff seeds. However, they control their own destiny: Beat the Colts Sunday and the Los Angeles Chargers at home in Week18 and the Raiders are in.

The Colts, who are on a three-game win streak, are fifth in the AFC and clinch a playoff berth with a win Sunday. They are one game back of the Tennessee Titans (10-5) in the AFC South but lose the tiebreaker because the Titans swept the season series.

For Indy to win the division, it needs to pick up 1½ games on Tennessee.

Raiders at Colts odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Colts 28, Raiders 14

Money line

PASS. The risk of Indy’s -350 price isn’t worth the reward.

Against the spread

ATS records: Raiders 6-9 | Colts 10-5

While Las Vegas needs the win more, INDIANAPOLIS -6.5 (-125) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager.

Even if QB Wentz doesn’t play because he’s on the reserve/COVID-19 list, RB Jonathan Taylor and Indianapolis’ ground game will be the difference.

Taylor leads the NFL in rushing yards (1,626) and rushing touchdowns (17). He is second in rushing yards per game (108.4), only behind the Titans’ Derrick Henry (117.1), who last played in Week 8 because of an injury.

Behind Taylor, the Colts feature the league’s second-best rushing attack with 154.9 yards per game – Philly is first (163.2). The Raiders defense yields 115.7 rushing yards per contest to rank 19th.

Meanwhile, the Colts are 6-1 straight up (SU) and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games, including 3-0 SU/ATS in December. The Raiders are 2-2 SU but 1-3 ATS this month.

Over/Under

O/U records: Raiders 7-8 | Colts 8-7

BET UNDER 44.5 (-110) to win a FULL UNIT if Wentz sits, which means rookie QB Sam Ehlinger makes his first NFL start.

If Wentz plays, BET UNDER 44.5 (-110) to win a HALF UNIT.

The Under is 3-0 in the Colts’ last three contests, which averaged 37.7 total points per game (PPG). The Raiders are coming off back-to-back Unders, averaging 16.5 PPG on offense and allowing 13.5 PPG on defense.

Denver Broncos at Las Vegas Raiders odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Denver Broncos at Las Vegas Raiders odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Broncos (7-7) have a classic AFC West rivalry game against the Las Vegas Raiders (7-7) in Week 16. They kick off Sunday afternoon at 4:25 p.m. ET at Allegiant Stadium. Below, we look at the Broncos vs. Raiders odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Broncos are coming off a 15-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in which QB Teddy Bridgewater suffered a concussion. It will keep him out of this week’s game. Their defense is the strength of the team, as they are No. 2 in the league in points allowed, giving up only 17.4 per game.

The Raiders have lost five of their last seven games but picked up a 16-14 last-second win over the Cleveland Browns on Monday in a rescheduled game due to a COVID-19 outbreak. They beat the Broncos 34-24 earlier this season in Week 6. They allow 26.7 points per game this season, the third-most in the NFL.

Broncos at Raiders odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Raiders 20, Broncos 16

Money line

This is a pick’em game. The Broncos are 3-3 on the road, but QB Drew Lock makes his first start of the year. He has lost his last three starts and four of his last five.

The Raiders are 3-4 at home, and their only division win was over the Broncos in Week 6. However, I give them the edge at quarterback. QB Derek Carr, even going against the Broncos defense, is who I trust more than Lock.

Take the RAIDERS (-110).

Against the spread

This spread is exactly the same as betting the money line. The Broncos are 7-7 ATS and the Raiders are 5-9 ATS on the season.

Denver is 4-3 ATS in its last seven games. The Raiders have only covered the spread once in their last six games.

But because I trust Carr more than Lock, my pick here is the same.

Take the RAIDERS -0.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Broncos are tied for the lowest Over percentage in the league at 21.4 percent. The Raiders have split their 14 games 50% with the Over and the Under.

Before their win last week, the Raiders had scored 30 or more in five of their six wins, scoring 26 in the other. They won this last week with 16 points. However, with a stingy Denver defense, I don’t think they will approach 30, while I expect the Broncos offense to struggle some, especially at finishing drives.

Take UNDER 41.5 (-115).

Las Vegas Raiders at Cleveland Browns odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Monday’s Las Vegas Raiders at Cleveland Browns odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Las Vegas Raiders (6-7) hit the road to face the Cleveland Browns (7-6) in a Week 15 matchup Monday. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Raiders vs. Browns odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Raiders were pummeled 48-9 by the Kansas City Chiefs on the road in Week 14. Las Vegas has dropped two in a row, and five of the past six outings while going 1-5 ATS during the stretch.

The Browns have been hit hard by a COVID-19 outbreak, with QB Baker Mayfield, WR Jarvis Landry and head coach Kevin Stefanski among the several notable players and personnel dealing with a positive test. This game was moved from Saturday at 4:30 p.m. to Monday at 5 p.m., NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced Friday.

Cleveland picked up a 24-22 win against the Baltimore Ravens last week, but it failed to cover. The Browns are now 0-4 ATS across the past four, while going 2-7 ATS over the previous nine outings.

Raiders at Browns odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Browns 20, Raiders 17

Money line

The BROWNS (-160) are worth playing, even with the team down a handful of key players due to the reserve/COVID list. However, tread lightly as the odds have been steamed up from -115 to -160. QB Case Keenum started a game against the Denver Broncos at home earlier this season, and the Browns picked up a 17-14 win. It’s uncertain if Keenum, Mayfield or perhaps QB Nick Mullens will start Monday afternoon.

RB Nick Chubb had COVID last month, so he’ll be available. You can expect the star running back to shoulder the load in a ground-and-pound attack Stefanski would be proud of.

Against the spread

The BROWNS -2.5 (-133) are now at a better price than the moneyline, and you’ll get some insurance here. If you want to hammer this side and skip the moneyline, go for it.

Over/Under

The UNDER 40.5 (-105) is the play, even though this is a super-low number for this day and age of the NFL. Cleveland has several key players missing, while we’ll also see freezing conditions and a stiff wind blowing in from Lake Erie. That icy wind should limit the pass and kicking game, meaning a lot of running. Runs equal Under results.

Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs Week 14 odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Las Vegas Raiders (6-6) and Kansas City Chiefs (8-4) will meet for the second time in a span of five weeks, once again renewing their rivalry at  GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. This AFC West showdown is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET Sunday afternoon. Below, we look at the Raiders vs. Chiefs odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

After a strong start to the season, the Raiders have been in a rut since the beginning of November. They’ve lost four of their last five games, three of which were by at least seven points. Las Vegas’s most recent loss came to Washington Sunday, a 17-15 defeat after being favored by 1 point.

The Chiefs have ripped off a five-game winning streak, winning each of their last three games by at least 10 points. The Raiders were one of those opponents to get crushed by KC, losing 41-14 Nov. 14 at home.

K.C. still isn’t scoring as many points as it could, ranking 13th in the league despite gaining the third-most yards in the NFL – the direct result of K.C.’s frequent turnovers.

Raiders at Chiefs odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Chiefs 34, Raiders 20

Money line

Don’t look now but the Chiefs once again look like one of the best teams in the NFL. QB Patrick Mahomes is taking better care of the football and the defense has taken a major step forward, allowing 18 total points in their last two games and only 39 in their last four.

Without Waller and of course Henry Ruggs III, the Raiders offense just doesn’t have the firepower to keep up with the Chiefs. At -500, though, I’d rather PASS on the money line and give the points with the spread.

Against the spread

The Chiefs have covered the spread in each of their last three games, doing so pretty easily, too. That includes their 41-14 win over the Raiders only three games ago when they were 2.5-point favorites.

Now at home, the Chiefs are favored by 9.5, which is still a number I like. Bet the CHIEFS -9.5 (-117) to cover.

Over/Under

Even though the total has only gone Over once in the Chiefs’ last seven games, their games against Vegas have typically been higher-scoring. The total has gone Over in each of the last three games between these teams, a trend I think will continue.

The Chiefs will do most of the heavy lifting, pushing the total OVER 47.5 (-115).

Washington Football Team at Las Vegas Raiders odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Washington Football Team at Las Vegas Raiders odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. ET, Washington Football Team (5-6) takes the field at Allegiant Stadium to take on the Las Vegas Raiders (6-5). Below, we look at the Washington vs. Las Vegas odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Washington enters this game without star DE Chase Young, who is out for the season. However, its been one of the hottest teams in the NFL regardless of his recent absence.

Washington has won three straight games, besting the Bucs, Panthers and Seahawks in that span. They’re 2-3 on the road and 4-7 against the spread.

As for Vegas, they’re led by star QB Derek Carr. With several team-changing situations this season, Vegas being over .500 is impressive, all things considered. They’re 5-6 against the spread and 3-3 at home this season. They’ve just won one on their last four.

Washington at Las Vegas odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Sunday at 9:15 a.m. ET.

  • Against the spread (ATS): Washington +2.5 (-110) | Las Vegas -2.5 (-110)

Washington at Las Vegas odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Washington 24, Las Vegas 23

Money line

The oddsmakers at Tipico Sportsbook have almost made this one a toss-up, with the lines changing slightly since Saturday evening. BET on WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM (+105) as the best side in this game. The ascension of QB Taylor Heinicke into a viable starter in the NFL has been huge.

He didn’t enter the season as the first-string quarterback, but having thrown five touchdowns and one interception during this three-game winning streak, Heinicke has stepped up and put the WFT into playoff contention.

He’s completed over 70% of his passes in each game. Carr, who will be without star TE Darren Waller, has been the opponent, under 72% in four straight games. He’s been under 300 yards passing in three of his last four games and has totaled four interceptions.

Despite Washington’s weak pass defense, they have the more balanced offensive attack. I’m backing one of the hottest teams in the league that’s shown the ability to contend with the best of the best.

Against the spread

PASS on the spread. For the mere two-and-a-half points, I’d rather take the plus-money underdogs on the moneyline.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 47.5 (-110) as neither team ranks in the top half of the league in points per game.

Both are under 24 per game, and while they don’t necessarily have lacking offensive weapons, they haven’t consistently been able to move the ball. For the more potent offense, Vegas, that’ll be even more true without Waller.

His absence will create a massive hole in Las Vegas’ playmaking. The Raiders just won’t have the firepower in this one.

Washington won’t blow them out, but I expect them to hang on and do just enough to win this one. This should be relatively low scoring.

Las Vegas Raiders at Dallas Cowboys odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thanksgiving Day’s Las Vegas Raiders at Dallas Cowboys Week 12 odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Las Vegas Raiders (5-5) meet the Dallas Cowboys (7-3) for a 4:30 p.m. ET Thanksgiving Day game at AT&T Stadium in Week 12. Below, we look at the Raiders vs. Cowboys odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Las Vegas enters on a three-game losing skid with the latest being a 32-13 home loss vs. the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday. The Raiders only converted 1 of 7 third-down attempts and gave the Bengals three first downs via penalties. Las Vegas is 4-6 against the spread (ATS) and 5-5 Over/Under (O/U).

Dallas was kept out of the end zone for the first time this season in a 19-9 loss at the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11. The Cowboys were held to just 82 rushing yards and QB Dak Prescott was intercepted twice. Dallas is 8-2 ATS and 5-5 O/U.

The Cowboys are first in the NFC East and the only team in the division with a winning record, while the Raiders have fallen to third in the AFC West standings.

Raiders at Cowboys odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cowboys 31, Raiders 16

Money line

PASS. The Cowboys (-340) should win handily but the price is too expensive.

However, I’d definitely endorse including the Cowboys in a teaser leg as long as their spread doesn’t go above 8.5. Also, if you haven’t used the Cowboys in your survivor league, this feels like a good game to do so.

Against the spread

BET the COWBOYS -7.5 (-105) for 1 unit because the Raiders have gone through too much off-the-field turmoil. Las Vegas committed seven penalties for 77 yards vs. Cincinnati and had a tough time sustaining drives.

The Raiders haven’t scored more than 16 points in their past three games and it’s most certainly because of the controversial ousting of former head coach Jon Gruden. Furthermore, the loss of former WR Henry Ruggs makes it easier for opposing defenses to pack the box vs. the Raiders.

The best case you can make for Las Vegas covering this game is “the Cowboys will overlook the Raiders.” But the Dallas offense put up a stinker last week and this is a primetime, get-right game for the Cowboys.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 51.5 (-112) because the Raiders offense has been out of sorts for weeks now. Plus, the Cowboys defense is top 5 in DVOA on third and fourth downs, while the Raiders are bottom 10 in offensive DVOA on third and fourth downs

The Cowboys could be without their top-two starting wide receivers and their left tackle. The Raiders have a solid pass rush and K.C.’s defense sacked Prescott five times last weekend.

While I envision the Dallas offense being successful Thursday, I think Las Vegas can minimize big plays. That said, the Cowboys laying the points is my favorite bet in this game.

Cincinnati Bengals at Las Vegas Raiders odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Cincinnati Bengals at Las Vegas Raiders odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Cincinnati Bengals (5-4) will look to get back on track Sunday when they visit the Las Vegas Raiders (5-4). Kickoff from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Bengals vs. Raiders odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Bengals have dropped their last two games, losing to the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns. They’re fresh off a bye week, though, and are trying to right the ship by beating the Raiders. The Browns made easy work of the Bengals in Week 9, cruising to a 41-16 win in what was Cincinnati’s lowest scoring output of the season.

The Raiders have also lost their last two games, falling to the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants in the last two weeks. The Chiefs blew them out 41-14, while the Giants won by a touchdown 23-16. Las Vegas ranks 17th in points scored despite being eighth in yards, while the defense is allowing 25.6 points per game, ranking 26th in that department.

Bengals at Raiders odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bengals 31, Raiders 24

Money line

The Bengals have the added benefit of coming off a bye in this one, giving them extra time to rest and recover from any minor injuries. It was mostly the defense that failed them in their last two games, allowing 75 total points, but the offense needs to play better, too.

I think they’ll bounce back from two disappointing losses and play well against the struggling Raiders, who have only scored 30 total points in their last two. BET BENGALS (-120) to win outright.

Against the spread

Both of these teams are 4-5 ATS this season and failed to cover in their last two games. The Bengals are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against the Raiders and 3-2 ATS in five road games this season.

I like the BENGALS -1.5 (-110) to cover and win fairly easily.

Over/Under

The total has gone Over in each of the Bengals’ last three games and in three of the Raiders’ last four. Despite these teams not scoring a ton in recent weeks, their middling defenses have allowed opponents to put up points.

That should continue Sunday at Allegiant Stadium. I like the OVER 50.5 (-105) in this one.

Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Sunday night game in Week 10 of the NFL season is a good one. The Kansas City Chiefs (5-4) are on the road for an AFC West showdown against the Las Vegas Raiders (5-3). Kickoff is 6:20 p.m. ET at Allegiant Stadium. Below, we look at the Chiefs vs. Raiders odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Chiefs are coming off a 13-7 win over the Green Bay Packers and have won two straight games, but the season has been a struggle so far. They have averaged only 12 points per game in their last three contests. QB Patrick Mahomes has thrown 10 interceptions so far this season.

The Raiders have been a surprise this season but have been inconsistent. In their five wins, they are averaging 31.4 points per game. They average 13 in their three losses. QB Derek Carr has 2,565 passing yards, 13 touchdown passes and seven interceptions through eight games.

Chiefs at Raiders odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Chiefs 33, Raiders 27

Money line

The Chiefs have won two in a row and have done it with defense, allowing 24 total points over the last two games.

The Raiders lost last week to the New York Giants 23-16.

The Chiefs have won 11 of the last 13 matchups with the Raiders. They have won their last three games on the road against the Raiders.

While Mahomes has not been playing at the level we are accustomed to, he will show his skills against Las Vegas.

Take the CHIEFS (-150).

Against the spread

The Chiefs have not won a game by less than three points this season. However, they have only covered the spread twice this season.

The Raiders are 4-4 ATS this season and 3-1 ATS as underdogs.

However, if you think the Chiefs are going to win the game, you have to take them. I have the Chiefs winning, so take the CHIEFS -2.5 (-125).

Over/Under

The Raiders are 4-4 O/U this season and the Chiefs are 4-5 O/U.

Last season, the totals in their two games were 72 and 65 points, respectively. If both teams avoid turnovers, then it could be like that again.

Take OVER 52.5 (-110).

Underdog Corner: 3 best NFL picks and predictions for Week 10

Assessing the NFL betting odds and lines for Week 10, with three predictions and picks for the best underdog bets to make.

Underdogs ruled the NFL’s Week 9, covering the spread in 10 of the 14 matchups on the card.
We fully capitalized here, going 3-0 with all three picks (the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants and Tennessee Titans) winning outright. That ups our season record to 20-7 (.741) ATS with 17 outright winners.

NFL underdog predictions: Week 10

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 7:15 a.m. ET.

New Orleans Saints +2.5 (+102) at Tennessee Titans

The AFC-leading Titans are on a certified roll, winning five straight games SU and ATS, including four consecutive triumphs as point-spread underdogs. That puts them at 7-2 ATS on the season with an average cover margin of 5.9, third best in the league behind the Arizona Cardinals (+10.3) and Buffalo Bills (+6.1).

The Saints, meanwhile, are 5-3 SU and 4-4 ATS after being stunned 27-25 at home last Sunday by the rival Atlanta Falcons.

Siding with Sean Payton’s crew as an underdog, though, has been a profitable strategy as the Saints are a league-best 20-7-1 (.732) ATS when catching points since 2016, including 3-0 this season.

Certainly wait to see if the line bumps up to three, but we’ll side with the SAINTS (+2.5) in any case.

Minnesota Vikings +3.5 (-117) at Los Angeles Chargers

Kirk Cousins and the Vikings have lost two straight to fall to 3-5, but all five of their losses have been by seven or fewer points, including four by four points or fewer.

The Chargers, meanwhile, are pacing the tight AFC West at 5-3 but have lost two of their last three games following a 4-1 start.

More concerning, though, is the Bolts’ continued lack of a homefield advantage since moving up the coast to L.A. in 2017, going 17-17 SU and 13-20-1 ATS. Go with the visiting VIKINGS (+3.5) getting more than a field goal.

Las Vegas Raiders +2.5 (+102) vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes and Co., have won two straight and three of their last four, but the QB and the Chiefs still don’t look anywhere close to their two-time defending AFC champion selves. That’s evident in their ATS record as K.C. is 2-7 so far this season – complete with a league-worst minus-6.6 cover margin – and an ugly 4-16 since Week 9 of last season.

The Raiders, meanwhile, are back home in the desert looking to bounce back after a long trip and a 23-16 upset loss to the host Giants. And we say the RAIDERS (+2.5) will after they split the season series with the Chiefs a year ago and covered in both meetings.

Catching the three if the line moves up would be a big bonus.
