Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Kansas City Chiefs (13-3) and Las Vegas Raiders (6-10) face off Saturday. Kickoff from Allegiant Stadium is set for 4:30 p.m. ET (ESPN/ABC/ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Chiefs vs. Raiders odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Chiefs are currently on a 4-game win streak against the Raiders, including a 30-29 win in Week 5, although they failed to cover as 7.5-point favorites. QB Patrick Mahomes is 8-1 against Las Vegas while Raiders QB Jarrett Stidham will be making his 2nd-career start.

The Chiefs have won 4 straight games overall but have failed to cover the spread in most contests this season. Kansas City is just 4-11-1 ATS while Las Vegas is 8-8 ATS. The Chiefs have not covered against an AFC opponent this season.

This game holds higher stakes for the Chiefs as they need to win in order to capture the AFC’s No. 1 playoff seed. The Raiders are eliminated from playoff contention, so this game is more about seeing what they have in Stidham who replaced QB Derek Carr in Week 17. Stidham threw for 365 yards, 3 TDs and 2 INTs in a 37-34 overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers in his 1st start.

Chiefs at Raiders picks and predictions

Prediction

Chiefs 34, Raiders 31

Moneyline

The Chiefs will need to be on their A-game as they try to take the AFC’s top seed, but it won’t be easy. Playing a division rival that has nothing to play for can be a trap because the Raiders would love nothing more than to play spoiler for the Chiefs’ playoff bye hopes.

The good news for K.C. is that its offense should fare well against a defense that allows the league’s 4th-most passing yards per game (246.8). It’ll be close, but it’s tough to see anything other than a Kansas City victory with so much on the line.

However, bettors should PASS on the moneyline for this matchup because the payout for taking Chiefs (-425) is not worth the risk.

Against the spread

The Chiefs have been unable to cover against an AFC opponent all season and there’s no reason to believe they’ll start now. Nine of the Raiders’ 10 losses this season have been by 1 possession, including their 1-point loss to the Chiefs earlier this season.

Stidham looked impressive against a great 49ers defense last week and almost led the Raiders to a surprise victory. If he had that sort of success against the NFL’s top-scoring defense, he should be able to see similar results against a Chiefs defense that allowed the putrid Denver Broncos offense to score 52 points in 2 games.

BET RAIDERS +9 (-109).

Over/Under

The Chiefs and Raiders are each 8-8 to the Over this season. The Chiefs boast the league’s best offense at 29.1 points per game while the Raiders just dropped 34 on San Francisco last week. There should be no shortage of offense in this matchup.

TAKE OVER 52.5 (-109).

Bonus prop: Chiefs RB Jerick McKinnon ANYTIME TD (-140)

McKinnon has been on a tear for Kansas City lately. He has scored 8 TDs in his last 5 games, including at least 1 receiving TD in each game. Mahomes has loved leaning on McKinnon in the passing game, hitting him for 23 receptions in the last 4 weeks. You could easily double this up with MCKINNON OVER 35.5 RECEVING YARDS (-115) as well — McKinnon has gone over 35 in 3 of his last 4 outings.

Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Sunday night game in Week 10 of the NFL season is a good one. The Kansas City Chiefs (5-4) are on the road for an AFC West showdown against the Las Vegas Raiders (5-3). Kickoff is 6:20 p.m. ET at Allegiant Stadium. Below, we look at the Chiefs vs. Raiders odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Chiefs are coming off a 13-7 win over the Green Bay Packers and have won two straight games, but the season has been a struggle so far. They have averaged only 12 points per game in their last three contests. QB Patrick Mahomes has thrown 10 interceptions so far this season.

The Raiders have been a surprise this season but have been inconsistent. In their five wins, they are averaging 31.4 points per game. They average 13 in their three losses. QB Derek Carr has 2,565 passing yards, 13 touchdown passes and seven interceptions through eight games.

Chiefs at Raiders odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Chiefs 33, Raiders 27

Money line

The Chiefs have won two in a row and have done it with defense, allowing 24 total points over the last two games.

The Raiders lost last week to the New York Giants 23-16.

The Chiefs have won 11 of the last 13 matchups with the Raiders. They have won their last three games on the road against the Raiders.

While Mahomes has not been playing at the level we are accustomed to, he will show his skills against Las Vegas.

Take the CHIEFS (-150).

Against the spread

The Chiefs have not won a game by less than three points this season. However, they have only covered the spread twice this season.

The Raiders are 4-4 ATS this season and 3-1 ATS as underdogs.

However, if you think the Chiefs are going to win the game, you have to take them. I have the Chiefs winning, so take the CHIEFS -2.5 (-125).

Over/Under

The Raiders are 4-4 O/U this season and the Chiefs are 4-5 O/U.

Last season, the totals in their two games were 72 and 65 points, respectively. If both teams avoid turnovers, then it could be like that again.

Take OVER 52.5 (-110).

Underdog Corner: 3 best NFL picks and predictions for Week 10

Assessing the NFL betting odds and lines for Week 10, with three predictions and picks for the best underdog bets to make.

Underdogs ruled the NFL’s Week 9, covering the spread in 10 of the 14 matchups on the card.
We fully capitalized here, going 3-0 with all three picks (the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants and Tennessee Titans) winning outright. That ups our season record to 20-7 (.741) ATS with 17 outright winners.

NFL underdog predictions: Week 10

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 7:15 a.m. ET.

New Orleans Saints +2.5 (+102) at Tennessee Titans

The AFC-leading Titans are on a certified roll, winning five straight games SU and ATS, including four consecutive triumphs as point-spread underdogs. That puts them at 7-2 ATS on the season with an average cover margin of 5.9, third best in the league behind the Arizona Cardinals (+10.3) and Buffalo Bills (+6.1).

The Saints, meanwhile, are 5-3 SU and 4-4 ATS after being stunned 27-25 at home last Sunday by the rival Atlanta Falcons.

Siding with Sean Payton’s crew as an underdog, though, has been a profitable strategy as the Saints are a league-best 20-7-1 (.732) ATS when catching points since 2016, including 3-0 this season.

Certainly wait to see if the line bumps up to three, but we’ll side with the SAINTS (+2.5) in any case.

Minnesota Vikings +3.5 (-117) at Los Angeles Chargers

Kirk Cousins and the Vikings have lost two straight to fall to 3-5, but all five of their losses have been by seven or fewer points, including four by four points or fewer.

The Chargers, meanwhile, are pacing the tight AFC West at 5-3 but have lost two of their last three games following a 4-1 start.

More concerning, though, is the Bolts’ continued lack of a homefield advantage since moving up the coast to L.A. in 2017, going 17-17 SU and 13-20-1 ATS. Go with the visiting VIKINGS (+3.5) getting more than a field goal.

Las Vegas Raiders +2.5 (+102) vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes and Co., have won two straight and three of their last four, but the QB and the Chiefs still don’t look anywhere close to their two-time defending AFC champion selves. That’s evident in their ATS record as K.C. is 2-7 so far this season – complete with a league-worst minus-6.6 cover margin – and an ugly 4-16 since Week 9 of last season.

The Raiders, meanwhile, are back home in the desert looking to bounce back after a long trip and a 23-16 upset loss to the host Giants. And we say the RAIDERS (+2.5) will after they split the season series with the Chiefs a year ago and covered in both meetings.

Catching the three if the line moves up would be a big bonus.

Chiefs at Raiders head-to-head

These AFC West rivals meet twice every year. The most recent meeting was in Las Vegas in Week 11 last season when the Chiefs came away with a 35-31 win as the Raiders covered a 7.5-point number with an Over result. The Raiders stunned the Chiefs in Arrowhead in Week 5, winning outright 40-32 as 11-point underdogs in another easy Over.

Chiefs at Raiders: Game notes

  • The Raiders are dealing with adversity as they had eight players activated from the COVID reserve list Saturday and will be without four starters due to COVID-19.
  • The Chiefs had a bye in Week 10 and head coach Andy Reid’s teams typically perform well with time off. Since Reid took over as Kansas City’s coach in 2013, the Chiefs are 5-2 straight up and 4-3 ATS coming out of a bye week.
  • Las Vegas had a dominant performance at home vs. the Denver Broncos in Week 10. The Raiders routed the Broncos, 37-12, behind a rushing attack that had 203 rushing yards with four touchdowns and a defense that had five takeaways against Denver.
  • Kansas City’s offense is playing as advertised: 2nd in total yards per game, points per game, and third-down conversion percentage.
  • The Raiders gave the Chiefs their only loss this season, 40-32, in Week 5. It was a clean victory for Las Vegas who had 77 more total yards, were better on third down and possessed the ball for 35:18.

Chiefs at Raiders: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Chiefs 29, Raiders 24

Money line (?)

This is a PASS for me mostly because of the insane situational edge for the Chiefs. Week 10 was an easy victory for the Raiders, but it was still a division game, while Reid is coming off a bye with the defending Super Bowl champions looking to avenge their only loss.

I don’t know my buy price for a Raiders upset, but it’s not what BetMGM is offering.

Against the spread (?)

Reid-trends be damned, I am ROLLING WITH THE RAIDERS +7 (+105). I’d recommend waiting closer to kickoff to see if you can get this over a full touchdown especially since people like hammering favorites at the end of football Sundays.

The House is going to NEED the Raiders to come through for them: 86% of the money wagered and 87% of the bets made are on the Chiefs, according to Pregame.com.

Kansas City has a bottom-10 run defense across most categories and Las Vegas gains the seventh-most yards on the ground per game and runs the ball at the fifth-highest rate in the NFL.

Jon Gruden and the Raiders are going to pound the rock and control the tempo of this game. GIMME RAIDERS +7 (-106) for 1.5 units.

Over/Under (?)

I’m not usually a trends bettor but here are a few good ones to explain my lean on UNDER 56.5 (-106):

  • Kansas City has a 1-5-1 O/U record following a bye week while Reid has been the coach.
  • The Chiefs are 0-5 O/U in their last five games vs. a team above .500.
  • The Under is 6-2 in Kansas City’s last eight prime-time games.

I’ll TAKE UNDER 56.5 (-106) for a quarter-unit.
