Lacey Evans reportedly gone from WWE

Lacey Evans resumed using her real name on social media and heavily hinted that her time in WWE will be done this week.

Update Aug. 16, 2023: Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer is reporting that Lacey Evans is indeed “no longer with WWE.” Original story follows.

For the time being, you can still find Lacey Evans in the ‘Superstars’ section of WWE.com with the profiles of current talent. But maybe not for much longer.

Evans ignited a flurry of speculation by changing her social media profiles on Tuesday to include the phrase “FKA WWE Superstar Lacey Evans” and then posting that “When the clock strikes 12, you will address me as Macey Estrella from here on out.” Macey Estrella is Evans’ real name, suggesting that she is indeed done with WWE and will be using that going forward.

While she didn’t hint at whether her next move would involve wrestling, she did suggest she’d consider starting an OnlyFans account.

Evans signed with WWE in 2016 and had a successful stint in NXT, though she was ever able to capture the NXT Women’s Championship. The same could be said of her first stint in the main roster, where she received a healthy push as the Sassy Southern Belle with a fairly standard “better than you” gimmick.

Though she had shots at both the SmackDown and Raw Women’s Championships during 2019 and 2020, WWE never gave Evans a title run, and she didn’t seem as over as a face as she was as a heel. There were reports that she was going to win the Raw Women’s Championship in early 2021, but she took time off due to pregnancy and didn’t return to WWE for more than a year.

WWE attempted to push Evans by using her real life background as a Marine and inspiring story of overcoming a troubled childhood, but may have miscalculated by trying both face and heel approaches and flipping back and forth between them quickly. Some fans were also turned off by her using the Cobra Clutch in an obvious callback to Sgt. Slaughter.

Evans’ most recent, and perhaps final televised WWE appearance was on the March 24 episode of SmackDown, where she teamed with Xia Li in a loss to Natalya and Shotzi. It will be interesting to see if she decides to continue on in the wrestling business, and if so, where she might turn up next.

WWE SmackDown results: The Usos deliver a message to Solo, Roman

See what’s going down in the Bloodline saga and who wins the women’s tag team title unification match on WWE SmackDown.

Perhaps this was inevitable, as Thanos might say. Even with the family bonds between The Bloodline, it was always likely the WWE wasn’t big enough for all of their ambitions. Now, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa are preparing to do physical battle with The Usos at Money in the Bank, and before that, it appears all four men will be in the house for WWE SmackDown tonight.

Bloodline Civil War? We’d say so.

The Bloodline segments have been the biggest draws on SmackDown for some time, and there’s no reason to think anything will change for tonight’s show from Lafayette, Louisiana.

That’s not to say there’s nothing else of interest on the schedule for this particular June Friday. The women’s tag team titles will be unified as Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler (the WWE champs) take on Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn (who still hold the NXT titles despite their recent call-up). Shotzi will attempt to get into the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match if she can knock off Bayley, whose spot in said match is on the line — or at least that was the plan, because that match is no longer listed on WWE’s official site as of the time of this post.

But heck, it’s OK if there is a little bit of mystery for this SmackDown, because people would tune in to see what’s going on with the Bloodline alone. The whole second hour could be drama with the Tribal Chief and his subjects and it would do big ratings.

(Note to Vince McMahon in case you’re reading this: Please don’t actually do this, we’re exaggerating for effect.)

Let’s dive right in, because we hear The Usos’ music …

WWE SmackDown results from Lafayette:

  • The Usos come to the ring to a huge ovation from the crowd, and explain that they still love Roman Reigns but that he messed up by disrespecting them; they also call Paul Heyman the biggest snake of them all and remind everyone that they’re the best tag team in the game, with plans on taking it back to the Uso Penitentiary mind set in London

  • LA Knight def. Rey Mysterio by pinfall, though Santos Escobar hustles down to keep him from unmasking or beating down Rey after the bell
  • Solo Sikoa nails Ridge Holland with a Samoan Spike backstage and says he’s not in the mood tonight; Heyman makes a phone call to Reigns
  • Sheamus tells Adam Pearce to “give me Solo now,” but AP has sent for Heyman and says he’ll handle it; Sheamus does the opposite and briefly pops out on stage to call for Sikoa to meet him in the ring tonight
  • Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler def. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn by pinfall to become the new Unified WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions; Rousey calls out Raquel Rodriguez afterward, who was watching the match from ringside, and Raquel says “we” want a rematch for the titles we never lost — meaning her and the returning Liv Morgan

  • Yes boy! The Grayson Waller Effect welcomes Pretty Deadly, who don’t feel like Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are giving them the proper respect; they also get a visit from the Street Profits, who are anxious to introduce them to the smoke
  • Pretty Deadly def. Street Profits by pinfall, cheating a bit to do so
  • Charlotte Flair def. Lacey Evans by submission, but gets attacked by Asuka right after the bell
  • Pearce summons Bianca Belair to discuss the Flair-Asuka title match and says she’ll be barred from ringside, but she doesn’t seem to trust that he’ll be true to his word and give her the chance to challenge the winner
  • Solo Sikoa def. Sheamus by referee stoppage, then fights off officials who come to check on the Celtic Warrior; The Usos come to the ring to attack Sikoa, however, delivering a series of superkicks that leave Heyman’s mouth open in astonishment before they also hit an Uso Splash

WWE SmackDown results 06/02/23: Solo picks Tribal Chief over brothers … for now

See if the Bloodline held together long enough to celebrate 1,000 days of Roman Reigns as Universal Champion on WWE SmackDown.

Tonight should be a joyous occasion for Roman Reigns. With WWE promoting a celebration of his 1,000 days (and counting) as Universal Champion, it should be a time for the Tribal Chief to take a well-deserved victory lap, secure in his dominance.

And it would be … if everything was alright with The Bloodline. Instead, it’s the exact opposite, as things have arguably never been more turbulent. After being pushed past their limits by Roman’s gaslighting, The Usos erupted into the family stable version of open revolt, with Jimmy, not Jey, as the ringleader.

There’s almost zero chance The Usos will be beside Reigns tonight, leaving him with just Solo Sikoa as the loyal but silent lieutenant, and his wise man, Paul Heyman. That makes you wonder if Reigns will be in any mood to appreciate his accomplishments, even if WWE gives him a shiny new belt to mark the occasion.

What else is on tap for Wilkes-Barre? Oh not much, just qualifying for the potentially career-altering experience called Money in the Bank. So far two men are in and zero women, but we’re going to increase those numbers tonight. Montez Ford will take on LA Knight (kind of a shame since both men deserve to be in the Ladder match), while Zelina Vega goes up against Lacey Evans.

With a few other surprises bound to be part of the show as well, it should be a fun two hours.

WWE SmackDown results from Wilkes-Barre:

  • Austin Theory claims he’ll have a 1,000-day celebration and more since he’s probably going to be United States Champion forever; he also brings out Pretty Deadly, who says they were glad to take care of the Brawling Brutes and won’t mind doing it again
  • Austin Theory and Pretty Deadly def. Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland) by pinfall
  • A video package replays the problems in the Bloodline that erupted at Night of Champions
  • Paul Heyman tells Solo Sikoa that they need to make the night special for the Tribal Chief, especially after what just happened, and says he’s going to talk to Adam Pearce to ensure the Usos go nowhere near the celebration tonight
  • The O.C. wishes AJ Styles a happy birthday, and the Good Brothers say they’ll take out Hit Row tonight
  • Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows def. Hit Row by pinfall, Styles gives Top Dolla a Phenomenal Forearm, and Michael Cole makes some poor efforts at rapping
  • Pearce tells Heyman the Usos have been told they aren’t needed tonight and that he’s doubled security to keep them out
  • Raw Women’s Champion Asuka drops by The Grayson Waller Effect, but IYO SKY pays a visit as well, followed by Bayley, Shotzi, Lacey Evans and Zelina Vega; when Asuka tries slipping away, Bianca Belair shows up and they brawl until officials can separate them
  • Cameron Grimes tells Pearce that the next time Baron Corbin shows his face on SmackDown, he’ll handle it
  • Zelina Vega def. Lacey Evans by pinfall in a Money in the Bank qualifying match
  • The LWO is fired up by Vega’s win, and Santos Escobar says he’s going to win his qualifier next week too
  • LA Knight def. Montez Ford by pinfall (grabbing the ropes to ensure he gets the three count) in a Money in the Bank qualifying match
  • A spooky vignette promotes the “Unholy Union” of Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre
  • Triple H gives Reigns an introduction comparing him to athletes who redefined domination of their respective sports, then presents him with a brand new (very gold) Undisputed WWE Universal Championship title belt …

  • … but his speech is quickly interrupted by The Usos, with Jimmy Uso saying he did what he did because he’s being a good brother, and after Solo Sikoa stands with his brothers, Jey tries to broker peace; Jimmy makes a plea to reunite the family, but even after a hug, Reigns says no, and Sikoa hits Jimmy with a Samoan Spike and walks out with Roman

WWE SmackDown preview 06/02/23: Roman celebrates, plus MITB qualifiers

Will Roman Reigns celebrate his 1,000-day reign in style on WWE SmackDown, or will the Bloodline turmoil overshadow his accomplishment?

If ever there was a time to acknowledge your Tribal Chief, this would be the night. Roman Reigns is celebrating 1,000-plus days with the Universal Championship tonight on WWE SmackDown from Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and he requests, nay, demands your presence and adulation.

(It sounds like he may even receive some new gold for the occasion.)

Alas, all is not well on the Island of Relevancy where the Tribal Chief dwells. The tension within the Bloodline erupted into open combat at Night of Champions, where The Usos accidentally superkicked Solo Sikoa … then Jimmy Uso intentionally did the same to Reigns. Will the celebration be muted as a result? Heck, will there even be a Bloodline by the end of the night?

That’s not the only thing scheduled for SmackDown that figures to be of interest and importance. Money in the Bank qualifiers are underway, with two men already in and both men and women getting a chance to join them tonight.

LA Knight and Montez Ford, two men who we think would benefit greatly from earning the briefcase, will face each other to be added to the men’s Ladder match with Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura. Zelina Vega, who came up short in her opportunity to dethrone Rhea Ripley at Backlash, will try to put herself right back in the title hunt if she can beat Lacey Evans (remember her?) for a spot in the women’s Ladder match.

We anticipate there being plenty to discuss when this particular episode of SmackDown is through. You’ll want to tune in tonight at 8 p.m. on Fox, or join us back here on Wrestling Junkie as we break it all down with live updates and such. See you then!

WWE SmackDown results: Dominik pushes Rey past the breaking point, The Usos spoil the WrestleZaynia reveal

WWE SmackDown results from Vegas, as Dominik Mysterio finally pushed his father too far, and The Usos reminded KO and Sami they’re the 1’s.

The most mentally exhausting WWE storyline may finally come to a head tonight on WWE SmackDown from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

That’s not to say that there hasn’t been entertaining father-son drama between Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio. The former has been appropriately tortured as a man who doesn’t want to lay his hands on his own child, no matter how far they’ve gone to the dark side, while the latter has definitely grown as a performer since linking up with The Judgment Day.

But man, is it taking forever to play out, with Dominik essentially repeating himself over and over in his promos about how Rey was never there for him growing up.

Yes, we get it.

With Rey so dug in about refusing to fight Dom even after a challenge was made for WrestleMania, that’s led many to wonder what the straw will be that finally breaks the proverbial camel’s back. Lo and behold, WWE says the entire Mysterio family, including Rey’s mother, will be in Las Vegas.

This is the best chance yet for their inevitable WrestleMania match to be made official, and to that we can only say this: Thank you, because it’s about time.

Speaking of Rey, he’ll be in action in Vegas, taking on LA Knight. Those two have had a few run-ins as of late, and Rey will undoubtedly have other things on his mind, so … maybe Knight will actually be allowed to win?

In contrast, Cody Rhodes knows exactly what he’ll be doing at WrestleMania. But he’s been staying busy leading up to the biggest show of them all, as he will tonight when he faces Ludwig Kaiser.

WWE SmackDown results in 60 seconds:

  • Cody Rhodes def. Ludwig Kaiser by pinfall …
  • … but is told by Paul Heyman after the match that he’ll be facing Solo Sikoa next week on Raw and seeing Roman Reigns one more time next week on SmackDown
  • Charlotte Flair explains exactly how she’s overcome fear, insecurity and charges of nepotism throughout her championship-studded career
  • LA Knight def. Rey Mysterio by pinfall thanks to interference from Dominik Mysterio …
  • … and after Dominik menaces his own mom, Rey finally hits him and agrees to a match at WrestleMania
  • Natalya and Shotzi def. Xia Li and Lacey Evans by submission in a WrestleMania Showcase qualifying match, one that Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler announce they’ve already been added to
  • Drew McIntyre, Sheamus and Gunther are all unhappy for different reasons but end up signing the contract to meet at WrestleMania, but Butch gets a little overexcited, leading to …
  • Gunther def. Butch by pinfall, then gets smashed by a Claymore from McIntyre
  • The Street Profits and Braun Strowman and Ricochet exchange pleasantries ahead of WrestleMania
  • Sami Zayn is the guest on The KO Show, where he learns about WrestleZaynia before getting laid out by The Usos

WWE Money in the Bank live results: Who will claim the briefcases in Vegas?

Check out the latest WWE Money in the Bank live results from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

There aren’t too many sure wagers in Las Vegas, but some of the best bets for WWE gold await the competitors in the namesake matches at Money in the Bank tonight. As WWE itself has repeatedly pointed out, the contracts in the briefcases have nearly guaranteed the winners they will be champions sometime in the next year: Men’s winners have an 85% cash-in success rate, while the women’s winners have been perfect so far.

That could be bad news for Roman Reigns, who has looked untouchable while holding the WWE Championship and Universal Championship. With a Last Man Standing Match against Brock Lesnar later this month at SummerSlam, the men’s briefcase winner will be licking their chops for a chance to catch him (or Brock) after a grueling affair. Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Omos, Riddle, Sami Zayn and Madcap Moss will all like their chances much better if they can climb the ladder and grab the case to make that a reality.

In the women’s division, the Ladder Match winner may have a different choice of cash-in options by the end of the night, with both Ronda Rousey and Bianca Belair putting their titles on the line. Becky Lynch will attempt to keep writing her own big comeback story, but Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Lacey Evans, Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi will all have their say in how this chapter plays out.

With just four championship matches and the two Ladder Matches, Money in the Bank should be a tightly paced affair. If you’re not in attendance at MGM Grand Garden Arena or watching live on Peacock or WWE Network (maybe because you’re watching UFC 276, also taking place in Sin City tonight), bookmark this page and return throughout the night for the latest WWE Money in the Bank live results as they go down.

WWE Money in the Bank: Everything you need to know

Get ready for WWE Money in the Bank with our preview, including predictions for each match, start time, how to watch and more.

As gimmick matches go, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match has reached the point where it has stood the test of time. It’s long since graduated from a bout at other events to headlining status in its own right, and the latest Money in the Bank premium live event is set for Fourth of July weekend in Las Vegas.

WWE initially had thoughts of holding the show in Allegiant Stadium, the football venue where the Las Vegas Raiders play, hoping it would prove attractive enough to sell 30,000+ tickets. But several factors, including UFC holding a pay-per-view card on the same night in Vegas, caused the company to reconsider, moving it to the smaller MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Does that mean the event itself is less significant? That depends on one’s point of view. On one hand, Roman Reigns, the man with the two most important men’s titles, is not on the card. Nor is Cody Rhodes, probably the hottest performer in WWE the last few months, as he is out long term recovering from surgery.

The counter-argument is that Money in the Bank has no filler; its six matches include four title bouts and the namesake ladder matches for the men and women. The undisputed tag team titles are on the line, as are both women’s singles titles, and the United States Championship. Most other significant, healthy superstars are vying for one of the briefcases.

So while WWE might be saving some of its best stuff this summer for SummerSlam, Money in the Bank is shaping up to be a night that could definitely be a pleasant upside surprise. Scroll down to get details on everything you need to know before watching this holiday weekend.
