WrestleMania night 2 card: All matches confirmed for April 7

A look at WWE’s match card for night 2 of WrestleMania 40.

Once again, WrestleMania takes place over two electrifying nights. Set to unfold from April 6 to 7 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, this year’s event promises to be a spectacle, spotlighting WWE’s top talents and culminating the year’s top storylines.

Night 1’s main event has implications for night 2’s headlining match, Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Should Rhodes and Seth Rollins emerge victorious, all members of The Bloodline will be banned from ringside on night 2. However, should Reigns and Rock win, the championship match will be Bloodline Rules.

Rollins will also compete on night 2, defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre. While the spotlight has focused on the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, don’t overlook this match, as it stands among the weekend’s top bouts. The Architect puts his near-year-long title reign on the line against a superstar riding a wave of momentum, both in the ring and on the microphone, and though this won’t main event, it should prove noteworthy.

With Damage CTRL ousting her from the group, Bayley will use her Royal Rumble win by challenging IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. It’s an opportunity for Bayley to receive a moment years in the making, and Philadelphia could be where she shines.

Recall when AJ Styles flew around the world to cost LA Knight a WrestleMania title match? After weeks of escalating tensions, the stage is set for these two to clash and settle the score once and for all.

WrestleMania night 2 goes down on Sunday, April 7 from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Latest update: April 1, 2024, 9:53 p.m. ET.

WWE WrestleMania 40 Night 2 card:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes – Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match
  • Seth Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre – World Heavyweight Championship match
  • IYO SKY (c) vs. Bayley – WWE Women’s Championship match
  • Logan Paul (c) vs. Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton – WWE United States Championship match
  • LA Knight vs. AJ Styles
  • Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits vs. The Final Testament – Philadelphia Street Fight

WWE SmackDown results 10/20/23: IYO retains, Bianca returns, Logan gets his match

Plus John Cena sort of ended his long losing streak, but not really.

It’s back to work for Logan Paul tonight on WWE SmackDown in San Antonio.

Yes, Paul was just in a boxing match of dubious quality last weekend, and he is pretty busy with his social media empire and sports drink business on a daily basis. But he insists that WWE is his full-time gig, so we’re humoring him here.

After said boxing match, Paul said he would like to more seriously pursue a WWE title, and specifically the United States Championship. One problem: WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio currently has that belt in his possession, and he’s not likely to want to hand it over.

But Mysterio responded to Paul’s interest in a positive manner, making it seem that perhaps we’re setting things up for a title showdown at Crown Jewel (or perhaps Survivor Series, which is just a few weeks later). We should know more after tonight, as Paul will be on hand and Mysterio isn’t likely to just hang out in the back if he’s being called out.

There’s also a big championship match on tonight’s card. IYO SKY has been a great WWE Women’s Champion so far, but to truly validate her reign, she needs to hold off more than one top challenger. Charlotte Flair would certainly qualify, seeing as she’s only the most decorated women’s wrestler of all time. Can SKY push herself to new heights, or will The Queen reclaim her place on the throne?

Plus, while Roman Reigns isn’t scheduled to be on SmackDown tonight, he did respond to the news today that he’ll be facing LA Knight at Crown Jewel. It seems possible, maybe even probable, that something will happen in San Antonio related to that upcoming bout.

Many eyes in Texas will be on a certain baseball game today, but we’re guessing there will still be plenty of people interested in SmackDown too. Let’s get into it.

WWE SmackDown results from San Antonio:

(please scroll down for more details on any match or segment in bold)

  • Paul Heyman chops it up with LA Knight, much to Paul’s dismay
  • Bobby Lashley and Angelo Dawkins give a pep talk to Montez Ford, whose match is up next
  • Montez Ford def. Santos Escobar by pinfall, but Carlito arrives with a steel chair to prevent any post-match liberties by the Street Profits
  • The LWO regroups backstage, but Rey Mysterio says he needs to handle whatever Logan Paul has in store by himself
  • Pretty Deadly is as excited as they’ve been since the opening night of Taylor Swift’s tour, but they’re mistaken about never seeing the Brawling Brutes again, much to their chagrin
  • Jimmy Uso is feeling pretty good about what he did earlier this week, but Heyman is more interested in who just walked into the arena: John Cena
  • Bad Bunny doing a WWE-style promo on himself to promote his host/musical guest stint on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend is shown
  • John Cena is fired up and not ready to quit yet, and he’s able to fend off an attack by Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso thanks to some help from one of their family members
  • Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn warn that “The Unholy Union is Coming”
  • Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis agree to disagree about Jey Uso’s fine or punishment, and when Aldis asks for security to escort Jey and Pearce from the building, Pearce has a swift response: “Let the games begin”
  • Logan Paul confronts Rey Mysterio, and the two men agree to a championship match at Crown Jewel
  • Austin Theory and Grayson Waller def. Cameron Grimes and Dragon Lee by pinfall
  • Kevin Owens tells Cathy Kelley “it doesn’t feel great” being separated from Sami Zayn, but he feels like it’s a clean slate for him on SmackDown, and he discusses some opponents he’s never faced before and some new faces he can punch
  • IYO SKY def. Charlotte Flair by pinfall to retain the WWE Women’s Championship after hitting Flair with her title belt, but …
  • … Bianca Belair returns to save Flair after the bell, delivering an emphatic KOD to close the show

WWE SmackDown preview 10/20/23: IYO vs. Charlotte, plus Logan Paul returns

Will Rey Mysterio accept a challenge from Logan Paul? And can Santos Escobar get payback against Montez Ford?

There’s no question that IYO SKY deserved to be a champion. But can she cement her reign as a great one by beating one of the true legends of her division? That’s a question that should be at least partially answered on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown from San Antonio.

IYO has already successfully defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Asuka, which was certainly a big win. But Charlotte Flair is the standard bearer, the woman against whom all others are measured. Flair has yet to have a one-on-one title shot against SKY, but that changes tonight.

They have some history as well, as SKY once beat Flair for the NXT Women’s Championship. Charlotte has a long memory for that type of thing, and will be looking to ensure that bit of history doesn’t repeat itself.

The other big hook for tonight’s SmackDown is the return of Logan Paul. After his latest successful outing in his “hobby” of boxing, Paul wasted little time announcing to the world that he had his eyes on WWE gold — and in particular, the United States Championship currently held by Rey Mysterio.

Being a fighting champ and all that, Mysterio seemed to welcome the challenge. We’ll see if he still feels that good about that stance in San Antonio, where the two men are scheduled to both be on hand.

Mysterio has an LWO teammate who will be in action tonight as well. Santos Escobar hasn’t taken kindly to the way Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits welcomed Carlito back to the fold (hint: they beat him down). He’ll try to do something about it when he steps in against Montez Ford, though beating Tez is never an easy task.

This is the time of year where it seems like there’s the maximum amount of other things going on Friday nights, but we’ll be ready to take in this edition of SmackDown at 8 p.m. ET. Please join us back here at Wrestling Junkie for live results and a snarky comment or two if you aren’t able to watch it all unfold.

For maybe the first time ever, WWE Fastlane was actually consequential

A skippable premium live event? Maybe in past years, but WWE Fastlane was worth watching this time.

If you have watched WWE for as long as I have (about 30 years, give or take), you are familiar with the fact that there are tiers to the company’s premium live events.

You already know that at the very top is WrestleMania, for obvious reasons. Right below that are Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and even Money in the Bank. These events don’t feature the spectacle and grandeur of WrestleMania, but are certainly among the most consequential on the calendar.

And then there’s the rest of the events, which if you’re a diehard fan you’re watching regardless. However, if you’re more of a casual fan, you may skip here or there.

Fastlane firmly falls into the last category, as its usual placement in February/March typically made this a mere speed bump you quickly pass over on the road to WrestleMania.

But that wasn’t the case in 2023.

WWE moved Fastlane to October this year, which still placed it right before a more marquee event — Survivor Series, in this case.

But unlike in years past where Fastlane could have largely been ignored, this year’s show served its purpose better than it ever has. And because of it, Survivor Series, which may or may not feature WarGames, feels like an even bigger event.

If there is a WarGames at Survivor Series, it could be among the most intriguing in the match’s history. Having The Bloodline and The Judgment Day form a, dare I say, dangerous alliance, has already made for great television. And I love the fact that it’s Rhea Ripley leading the transaction from The Judgment Day’s side.

But who knows how longer The Judgment Day will last after Finn Balor and Damian Priest lost the Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles to Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso? That will certainly add more cracks to the group’s already fragile foundation.

Then you got LA Knight and John Cena taking down Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa, which I’m sure will be addressed on the upcoming episode of Smackdown — which will feature an appearance from the Tribal Chief himself, Roman Reigns.

Seth Rollins retained his world title by defeating Shinsuke Nakamura in a Last Man Standing Match, which should all but end their feud and open the door for a new challenger to step up to the plate. And we all know there has been a lot of intrigue around who that person might be. Also, the match was tremendous.

And let’s not forget that Jade Cargill made her WWE television debut during the event as well. Sure, it was merely walking out of a car (looking stunning, I might add) and being greeted by Triple H, but it is a sign that WWE has got major plans for the former AEW TBS Champion.

There are some good things brewing in WWE. Things are so good that even Fastlane proved to be an exciting chapter in WWE’s never-ending tale between good and evil.

WWE Fastlane 2023 predictions: Who walks out of Indianapolis with their hand raised?

WWE Fastlane is about to roll into Indianapolis. Here’s who we think will win every match.

Let’s be real for a second: Fastlane is typically one of WWE’s premium live events that I am not going out of my way to watch.

It’s placement was usually right before WrestleMania, which also usually meant there wasn’t going to be anything of tremendous consqeuence on the card unless it was setting up something for the much more important event the next month.

This year’s Fastlane has some of those same hallmarks. It’s still not considered to be a major premium live event, it’s taking place before a more consquequential event in Survivor Series, and WWE’s top champion, Roman Reigns, is not even scheduled to appear.

However, there is a different feel about this edition of Fastlane. Maybe it’s because John Cena is on the card. Maybe it’s because there are some unique tag team matches. Maybe it’s because Jimmy and Jey Uso are both on the card in tag team matches, but they are not teaming together.

Either way, the 2023 edition of Fastlane has the potential to be exponentially more fun than the Fastlane events of years past.

One thing that hasn’t changed is that I’ve got predictions. Here’s what I believe will go down in Indianapolis:

John Cena and LA Knight vs. Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso

When Cena was commonly referred to as “Super Cena,” the prediction for this contest would have easy. However, this is grizzled vet Cena, who has already lost to Austin Theory at WrestleMania this year.

That win has done very little for Theory, but it is not outside the realm of possibility that Cena takes another loss here, especially if Reigns gets involved to ensure a victory for his family.

Reigns is not currently advertised for Fastlane, but he is advertised for next week’s edition of Smackdown (as is Triple H, for that matter).

With all of that said, I think the one thing Cena and LA Knight have going for them is all of the momentum the latter currently has. Every week, the pops seem to be getting louder and louder for Knight. The people are clearly behind him, and I see no reason to hand him a loss at Fastlane.

If anything, Knight needs this win to cement as main-event player. Because of that, I’m going with the babyfaces here.

Winners: John Cena and LA Knight

WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Boy, is there a lot of speculating and theorizing going on around Seth Rollins at the moment.

For the record, none of it has been confirmed, but that has not stopped fans from throwing them out there.

One thing I know for certain is Rollins is walking out of Fastlane with the world title. What’s next? I can’t wait to find out.

Winner: Seth Rollins

WWE Women’s Championship: IYO SKY (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka

IYO SKY being put into a Triple Threat match she did not ask for is a good way to stack the deck against her heading into Fastlane. However, I believe she will overcome the odds of having to face two very accomplished wrestlers and retain her championship:

Winner: IYO SKY

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship: Finn Balor and Damian Priest (c) vs. Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso

What a unique a fun matchup this has the potential to be. While it should be fun, I believe the outcome is academic: The champs retain.

Winners: Finn Balor and Damian Priest

The LWO (and mystery partner) vs. Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits

Here is another unique match that has the potential to be a lot of fun.

As far as a winner, I have to go with Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits to further establish them as a unit to be reckoned with.

Winners: Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits

Bianca Belair, Montez Ford had busy Tuesday representing WWE at NYSE, VMAs

Two WWE superstars got to attend a bell-ringing ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange and the MTV Video Music Awards in one day.

The Miz and Maryse like to call themselves the “It Couple” of WWE, but for at least one day, that honor belonged to Bianca Belair and Montez Ford.

The married superstars first were on hand for the bell-ringing ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange Tuesday morning, part of the WWE contingent there to celebrate the official launch of TKO Group Holdings, the new company formed from the merger of WWE and UFC under Endeavor.

Belair and Ford then headed from NYC to Newark Tuesday evening, where they walked the red carpet and were on hand for the MTV Video Music Awards.

The multitalented Belair revealed that she made her own dress for the VMAs and helped Ford with his fit as well. It’s not the first time she’s been her own designer, as she also made her own dress for the 2021 ESPYs.

As many fans have pointed out on social media, having Belair and Ford on hand on behalf of the company is a sign WWE has a lot of faith in their ongoing star power. Belair is temporarily out of the spotlight by her standards at the moment, but the three-time world champion figures to be right back in the title hunt sooner rather than later.

Ford seems to be a perennial pick to break out as a singles star due to his blend of charisma and athleticism, but is enjoying a bit more of a push at the moment with his Street Profits partner Angelo Dawkins thanks to their alliance with Bobby Lashley. They’ve teased both a tag team title run and their desire to fill the vacuum if/when The Bloodline finally disintegrates for good.

For the time being, however, he and Belair will almost certainly be called upon to rep WWE at more events, and it’s hard to argue against that being an excellent choice.

WWE SmackDown results 06/02/23: Solo picks Tribal Chief over brothers … for now

See if the Bloodline held together long enough to celebrate 1,000 days of Roman Reigns as Universal Champion on WWE SmackDown.

Tonight should be a joyous occasion for Roman Reigns. With WWE promoting a celebration of his 1,000 days (and counting) as Universal Champion, it should be a time for the Tribal Chief to take a well-deserved victory lap, secure in his dominance.

And it would be … if everything was alright with The Bloodline. Instead, it’s the exact opposite, as things have arguably never been more turbulent. After being pushed past their limits by Roman’s gaslighting, The Usos erupted into the family stable version of open revolt, with Jimmy, not Jey, as the ringleader.

There’s almost zero chance The Usos will be beside Reigns tonight, leaving him with just Solo Sikoa as the loyal but silent lieutenant, and his wise man, Paul Heyman. That makes you wonder if Reigns will be in any mood to appreciate his accomplishments, even if WWE gives him a shiny new belt to mark the occasion.

What else is on tap for Wilkes-Barre? Oh not much, just qualifying for the potentially career-altering experience called Money in the Bank. So far two men are in and zero women, but we’re going to increase those numbers tonight. Montez Ford will take on LA Knight (kind of a shame since both men deserve to be in the Ladder match), while Zelina Vega goes up against Lacey Evans.

With a few other surprises bound to be part of the show as well, it should be a fun two hours.

WWE SmackDown results from Wilkes-Barre:

  • Austin Theory claims he’ll have a 1,000-day celebration and more since he’s probably going to be United States Champion forever; he also brings out Pretty Deadly, who says they were glad to take care of the Brawling Brutes and won’t mind doing it again
  • Austin Theory and Pretty Deadly def. Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland) by pinfall
  • A video package replays the problems in the Bloodline that erupted at Night of Champions
  • Paul Heyman tells Solo Sikoa that they need to make the night special for the Tribal Chief, especially after what just happened, and says he’s going to talk to Adam Pearce to ensure the Usos go nowhere near the celebration tonight
  • The O.C. wishes AJ Styles a happy birthday, and the Good Brothers say they’ll take out Hit Row tonight
  • Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows def. Hit Row by pinfall, Styles gives Top Dolla a Phenomenal Forearm, and Michael Cole makes some poor efforts at rapping
  • Pearce tells Heyman the Usos have been told they aren’t needed tonight and that he’s doubled security to keep them out
  • Raw Women’s Champion Asuka drops by The Grayson Waller Effect, but IYO SKY pays a visit as well, followed by Bayley, Shotzi, Lacey Evans and Zelina Vega; when Asuka tries slipping away, Bianca Belair shows up and they brawl until officials can separate them
  • Cameron Grimes tells Pearce that the next time Baron Corbin shows his face on SmackDown, he’ll handle it
  • Zelina Vega def. Lacey Evans by pinfall in a Money in the Bank qualifying match
  • The LWO is fired up by Vega’s win, and Santos Escobar says he’s going to win his qualifier next week too
  • LA Knight def. Montez Ford by pinfall (grabbing the ropes to ensure he gets the three count) in a Money in the Bank qualifying match
  • A spooky vignette promotes the “Unholy Union” of Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre
  • Triple H gives Reigns an introduction comparing him to athletes who redefined domination of their respective sports, then presents him with a brand new (very gold) Undisputed WWE Universal Championship title belt …

  • … but his speech is quickly interrupted by The Usos, with Jimmy Uso saying he did what he did because he’s being a good brother, and after Solo Sikoa stands with his brothers, Jey tries to broker peace; Jimmy makes a plea to reunite the family, but even after a hug, Reigns says no, and Sikoa hits Jimmy with a Samoan Spike and walks out with Roman

WWE SmackDown preview 06/02/23: Roman celebrates, plus MITB qualifiers

Will Roman Reigns celebrate his 1,000-day reign in style on WWE SmackDown, or will the Bloodline turmoil overshadow his accomplishment?

If ever there was a time to acknowledge your Tribal Chief, this would be the night. Roman Reigns is celebrating 1,000-plus days with the Universal Championship tonight on WWE SmackDown from Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and he requests, nay, demands your presence and adulation.

(It sounds like he may even receive some new gold for the occasion.)

Alas, all is not well on the Island of Relevancy where the Tribal Chief dwells. The tension within the Bloodline erupted into open combat at Night of Champions, where The Usos accidentally superkicked Solo Sikoa … then Jimmy Uso intentionally did the same to Reigns. Will the celebration be muted as a result? Heck, will there even be a Bloodline by the end of the night?

That’s not the only thing scheduled for SmackDown that figures to be of interest and importance. Money in the Bank qualifiers are underway, with two men already in and both men and women getting a chance to join them tonight.

LA Knight and Montez Ford, two men who we think would benefit greatly from earning the briefcase, will face each other to be added to the men’s Ladder match with Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura. Zelina Vega, who came up short in her opportunity to dethrone Rhea Ripley at Backlash, will try to put herself right back in the title hunt if she can beat Lacey Evans (remember her?) for a spot in the women’s Ladder match.

We anticipate there being plenty to discuss when this particular episode of SmackDown is through. You’ll want to tune in tonight at 8 p.m. on Fox, or join us back here on Wrestling Junkie as we break it all down with live updates and such. See you then!

4 wrestlers who would benefit most from a Money in the Bank win — plus 1 obvious choice

The WWE Money in the Bank briefcase can accelerate or revitalize a career, and we pick four wrestlers who deserve that kind of boost this year.

While the Money in the Bank concept has suffered a bit in recent years by being watered down (would wrestlers logically use the contract for anything less than a shot at a world championship?), the namesake matches and event are still highly anticipated by WWE fans.

Not only are the Ladder matches fun in their own right, allowing for some of the most free-flowing creativity seen in WWE, but the briefcase is a visual that has withstood the test of time, and the contract inside makes an excellent tool for either accelerating or revitalizing careers.

There’s a compelling argument that on the men’s side, a Money in the Bank winner is needed now as much as ever to inject some unpredictability into the world title picture. On SmackDown, Roman Reigns seems likely to be tied up with internal Bloodline strife for the foreseeable future, and what better way to keep him on his toes (and perhaps make him vulnerable for a Jimmy Uso) than to have a briefcase holder stalking him too?

His Raw counterpart, Seth Rollins, has promised to be a fighting champ who takes on all comers, but so far doesn’t have an obvious No. 1 contender. He’ll likely get one ahead of the Money in the Bank event in London, but the briefcase winner could transition right into that role afterward.

(Note that this same thinking applies less to the women’s division, where both titles have changed hands within the past two months and there needs to be some resolution about the titles being on the “wrong” shows first.)

While the field for the men’s Ladder match has already begun to be set, there are still more names to be added, and as we’ve seen in the past, spots can even be won or lost after the fact. With that in mind, here are four WWE superstars in no particular order who could really take off after winning the MITB briefcase, plus one safe fallback if Triple H and company aren’t feeling particularly inspired by their other options.

Shinsuke Nakamura

If you ever needed proof that being presented as a big deal and being booked as a main event-caliber talent don’t always go hand in hand, Shinsuke Nakamura is it. From his entrance theme to the way announcers usually talk about him, everything about the King of Strong Style tends to be top shelf. Yet WWE seems to forget about him creatively for long stretches of time and never commits to pushing Nakamura toward one of its main titles for long.

There’s a school of thought that Nakmaura, now in his 40s, is fine with this after more grueling programs in his prime in NJPW. But WWE has recently begun getting behind him again, to the point where fans hoping he might sniff one of the big belts can reasonably think “this is it.” If he wins at MITB, it very well could be.

Drew McIntyre

Obviously, this is dependent on Drew McIntyre and WWE working out whatever issues they might have with each other. But despite the fact that he’s had an excellent run as a fan favorite, Raw is screaming for someone to step up as a monster heel, and the Scottish Warrior can certainly play that role to the hilt.

As McIntyre famously had his lone world title run during the crowd-less pandemic era, his motivation for going on a rampage basically writes itself: I’ve done everything asked of me, others keep getting shots I deserve, so I’m taking matters into my own hands. It would be pretty fun watching him menace Rollins over an extended period of time, and they’ve only had one previous singles match with a title at stake.

Montez Ford

One thing the Money in the Bank briefcase has successfully done in the past is elevate wrestlers on the verge of breaking through but in need of a logical push to get them over the hump. There’s little doubt that if you asked 1,000 WWE fans to name the next male wrestler deserving of a push toward singles title shots, Montez Ford would be heard plenty of times in response.

Better still, a MITB victory would mean he could be pushed without breaking up the Street Profits. There’s no reason for Angelo Dawkins to be jealous of just winning the briefcase — save that for if and when Tez is wearing gold on his own. Let the Profits keep dong their thing as a duo, but give Ford a chance to spread his wings with the case and see if his blend of athleticism and charisma play as a championship contender. It just makes sense.

LA Knight

Speaking of charisma, there’s probably no WWE wrestler as over without much to show for it as LA Knight. He’s in the perfect spot right now where fans love to cheer him when he comes out, but he plays the traditional heel role perfectly and is almost always able to convert most of those cheers to boos before long. He’s excellent on the mic and pretty darn good between the ropes as well.

Yet WWE hasn’t seemed to know what to do with him, rarely giving Knight a chance to sink his teeth into any particular program. The good news is that wouldn’t actually need to change much if he won the briefcase — could you think of anyone more well-suited to keep both world champs guessing as to which of them would be the target of a cash-in? Knight is already over and fans would absolutely buy him stepping up a notch. WWE just has to lean in to what’s already there.

And finally, the “break glass in case of creative emergency” option …

Cody Rhodes

Through no fault of his own, Cody Rhodes is the least interesting candidate. That’s because he’s already at the main event level, and we can all agree he’s going to get another shot at Reigns whether it’s a few months from now at SummerSlam, or (gulp) next spring at WrestleMania 40.

The issue is that with WWE booking Rhodes to lose his one big shot at WrestleMania 39 and then sending him to Raw and Reigns to SmackDown, there’s no obvious way for him to get back in line for Roman again. Having him win Money in the Bank would be a strictly logistical play, much the same way as having him win the Royal Rumble last year was.

Let’s just hope this isn’t necessary and that Cody can “finish the story” some other way.

WWE Raw results: Cody, Roman try to one-up each other mentally

Live WWE Raw results for March 20, 2023 from St. Louis, with Roman Reigns and Logan Paul both scheduled to appear.

It’s not easy to get one over mentally on Seth Rollins. The Visionary is usually the one living rent free in people’s heads, but Logan Paul seems to have flipped the script on Rollins, and will attempt to ensure that remains the case tonight on WWE Raw in one of the very best pro wrestling markets, St. Louis.

Paul is scheduled to do a live version of “Impaulsive TV” on Raw, which hopefully will include Logan, Mike and George because they deserve to be on TV too. Yet Rollins is unlikely to just hang back and let this all go down without getting his say — or better yet from Seth’s perspective, getting his hands on the influencer.

Speaking of not just letting things go without being personally involved, Roman Reigns has watched from afar (we assume somewhere on the Island of Relevancy) as Cody Rhodes has stirred up even more trouble for the Bloodline by encouraging Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to get past their differences and join forces.

With WrestleMania now less than two weeks away, the Tribal Chief can’t just let things play out when they’re definitely not looking up for his family, so he’ll be on Raw this week to speak on the state of current events.

Last but not least, Austin Theory has his sights set on showing John Cena he’s the past at WrestleMania. But because he can’t help himself, he decided to pick some fights along the way, most recently with the Street Profits. Theory beat Angelo Dawkins last week, but he’ll have to contend with an angry Montez Ford this Monday. And he might not like Tez when he’s angry.

WWE Raw results in 90 seconds:

  • Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are back on the same page, but The Usos never left theirs, and the two duos agree to settle things at WrestleMania
  • Austin Theory def. Montez Ford by pinfall
  • Roman Reigns tells The Usos the night’s not off to the best start, and he hopes Jimmy is right about taking care of Sami and KO at WrestleMania … oh, and he wants Jey to stay after dismissing everyone else
  • Roman asks Jey flat out if he’s Bloodline, and Jey says he is, to which Reigns says, “I hope so. That’s all I needed to hear.” … and “I love you”
  • Chelsea Green asks Adam Pearce if it’s OK for Piper Niven to be her tag team partner since Carmella is unavailable, and demands that she be put in the tag team showcase at WrestleMania
  • A video package promotes the Brock Lesnar-Omos Wrestlemania match, focusing on stats that emphasize how large both men are
  • Omos def. Mustafa Ali by pinfall
  • The Miz stops Logan Paul in the hallway and gets shot down as the guest for “Impaulsive TV”
  • Impaulsive TV is crashed by Seth Rollins, who ends up laid out again after a brawl
  • Dominik Mysterio def. Johnny Gargano by pinfall, then tells his dad he’s going to ask the matriarch of the Mysterio family on SmackDown if they can fight at WrestleMania
  • Paul Heyman tells The Usos that the seafood has been delivered to the jet and Reigns wants them to eat well, but not Solo Sikoa as Roman wants to talk to him
  • Edge cuts a dimly lit promo warning Finn Balor what will happen inside Hell in a Cell, even quoting scripture and invites Finn to bring the demon to meet the devil at WrestleMania
  • Rhea Ripley gets some promo time to deliver another message to Charlotte Flair, but Bayley and Damage CTRL want to show her Raw is their show
  • Rhea Ripley def. Bayley by pinfall as Becky Lynch, Trish Stratus and Lita neutralize Damage CTRL
  • Chad Gable finds Otis getting a manicure and a facial but is able to persuade him to come out and back him for his match with Ricochet
  • Ricochet def. Chad Gable by pinfall
  • Bianca Belair and Asuka def. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven by pinfall
  • Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes poke at each other’s insecurities, with Reigns eventually walking out and calling Solo Sikoa off from attacking Cody
