Sacramento Kings at New Orleans Pelicans odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Sacramento Kings at New Orleans Pelicans odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Sacramento Kings (47-31) will face the New Orleans Pelicans (40-38) on Tuesday at Smoothie King Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Kings vs. Pelicans odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Kings lost 142-134 in overtime to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday as 16.5-point favorites at home. Despite the disappointing loss to San Antonio, Sacramento is only 2 games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

The Pelicans covered as 4-point home favorites in Saturday’s 122-114 win over the Los Angeles Clippers. New Orleans is currently the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, but it is only half a game back of the No. 5 seed.

This will be the 3rd meeting this season. The Pelicans won 136-104 at home on Feb. 4 and the Kings won 123-108 at home on March 6. The Over/Under is 1-1.

Kings at Pelicans picks and predictions

Prediction

Pelicans 119, Kings 114

Moneyline

PASS.

Unless you believe the Kings will secure the win on the road or if you can get the Pelicans at -150 odds or better, I would avoid wagering on the moneyline in this matchup.

Against the spread

PELICANS -3.5 (-115) is how I’d bet with New Orleans hitting its stride recently. The Pelicans have won 7 of their last 10 games and each of those 7 wins was by 8-plus points.

Sacramento is 2-5 ATS in the last 7 road meetings and New Orleans is 7-1 ATS in its last 8 games overall.

Over/Under

Despite these teams having dynamic offenses, UNDER 237.5 (-110) is where I’m leaning in this game. This is a pace-down game for the Kings and the Pelicans are 6th in defensive rating this season.

The Under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings in New Orleans and the Under is also 5-2-1 in the last 8 meetings overall.

The Sacramento Kings (29-22) battle the New Orleans Pelicans (27-27) Sunday. Tip from Smoothie King Center is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Kings vs. Pelicans odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Kings lost to the Indiana Pacers 107-104 Friday, failing to cover as a 2-point road favorite. This will be the 5th of the Kings 7-game road trip. Sacramento is 2-2 against the spread (ATS) in the 1st 4 games. It is 5-4-1 ATS in its last 10 and 28-22-1 ATS this season.

The Pelicans beat the Lakers 131-126 Saturday, covering as a 1.5-point home favorite. New Orleans is just 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games. It snapped a 10-game losing streak with the win. New Orleans is 25-29 ATS on the season.

Kings at Pelicans picks and predictions

Prediction

Pelicans 119, Kings 115

Moneyline

PASS.

New Orleans is 18-9 straight up at home. I would play them to win here but prefer the spread.

Against the spread

BET PELICANS +1.5 (-115).

The Pelicans are coming off a home win and cover over the Lakers, and they are 15-12 ATS at home this season. While New Orleans has struggled lately, the Kings are just 2-3 ATS and straight up in their last 5.

There is also a key strength-on-weakness that should be noted. The Kings shoot the NBA’s 7th-most 3-point attempts while the Pelicans rank 2nd in opponents’ 3-point field goal percentage (34.4%). New Orleans should limit what Sacramento is best at and inevitably continue its win streak.

Back PELICANS +1.5 (-115).

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 228.5 (-112).

The Kings score the most points per game in the NBA, 119.2. They also allow 116.2. Sacramento has a keep bench to minimize the impact of Fox’s absence as well.

As for the Pelicans, they have allowed at least 120 in 3 of their last 4 games and are 3-1 O/U in that span as well. With F Brandon Ingram coming off a 35-point game, the Pelicans should be starting to find their groove again.

Back the OVER 228.5 (-112).

Sacramento Kings at New Orleans Pelicans odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Sacramento Kings at New Orleans Pelicans odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Sacramento Kings (23-40) visit the Big Easy Wednesday to play the New Orleans Pelicans (25-36) at Smoothie King Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Kings vs. Pelicans odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

New Orleans is 2-0 since the All-Star break, winning both games on the road, first at the Phoenix Suns (117-102 Friday) and the Los Angeles Lakers (123-95 Sunday). The Pelicans are tied for 10th place in the West with the Portland Trail Blazers, 1.5 games ahead of the San Antonio Spurs.

Sacramento is 13th in the West, 3 games behind New Orleans. The Kings were trade-deadline buyers, acquiring for PF Domantas Sabonis in a multi-player deal that sent PG Tyrese Haliburton and SG Buddy Hield to the Indiana Pacers. Since the All-Star game, the Kings are 1-2 straight up (SU) but 2-1 against the spread (ATS).

The Kings are 2-0 SU/ATS versus the Pelicans this season, but those games were back on Oct. 29 and Nov. 3.

Kings at Pelicans odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Pelicans 119, Kings 106

Money line

PASS.

New Orleans (-260) is too rich for my blood even though there’s a big difference between its current version and the NOLA team that started the season 1-12 SU. Two of those losses were to Sacramento.

But New Orleans is .500 since the 1-12 start and is trending up entering this game. Since Feb. 1, the Pelicans are 7-4 SU with the seventh-best adjusted net rating, according to CleaningTheGlass.com.

Also, New Orleans is playing better over that span versus bad teams, and Sacramento has the fifth-worst adjusted net rating. The Pelicans are 4-0 SU versus teams in the bottom 10 of net efficiency with a plus-16.5 adjusted net rating (ranked third).

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

BET PELICANS -6.5 (-105) for 1 unit.

They are exceeding expectations since February, including against weak competition. They are third in ATS margin (plus-5.5) since the start of February and second in ATS margin versus bottom-10 teams (plus-12.1).

Furthermore, the Pelicans are 5-2-1 ATS as home favorites, 3-1 ATS when favored by 5-7 points and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games versus teams with a losing record. The Kings are 9-13 ATS as road underdogs.

Over/Under

LEAN to the UNDER 232.5 (-107) because I prefer the Pelicans’ spread more than the total.

However, NOLA’s defense allows the third-fewest fast-break points per game (PPG) and the seventh-fewest paint PPG. Plus, Sacramento has the fourth-worst effective field-goal percentage in the NBA.

The Pelicans need to light it up for this Over to cash, but I could see this game dying out in the second half if NOLA has this game sealed.

Sacramento Kings at New Orleans Pelicans odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Sacramento Kings at New Orleans Pelicans NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Sacramento Kings (22-31) are in the Big Easy Monday for a 9 p.m. ET tip-off with the New Orleans Pelicans (24-29) at Smoothie King Center. Below, we analyze the Kings-Pelicans odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Sac Town lost its sixth straight game Saturday against the Utah Jazz (1-5 against the spread) and sit 3 games back of the Golden State Warriors for the 10th and final seed in the Western Conference postseason play-in.

The only team between the Kings and Warriors are the 11-seed Pelicans who have won back-to-back games including a 116-109 victory vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers last night. NOLA is 4-4 overall and 3-5 ATS in the last two weeks.

This will be the Kings-Pelicans rubber match as they’ve split the first two meetings with the road team winning and covering both games.

Kings at Pelicans: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Pelicans 121, Kings 117

Money line (ML)

PASS because NOLA has played down to its competition all year and is awful vs. bad teams.

The Pelicans are 5-11 as a home favorite, 5-10 ATS at home against teams with a losing record and have lost five of six ATS vs. below-.500 teams.

I “lean” to NOLA covering here but, at the same point, there’s no way I’m laying it with Pelicans (-135).

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

On paper, NOLA is a tough matchup for Sac Town. The Pelicans score the third-most paint points and second-chance points per game.

While the Kings are 24th in second-chance points allowed and dead-last in paint points allowed per game.

Also, NOLA should dominate Sac Town on the boards tonight. The Pelicans have the highest rebounding rate in the Association, and the Kings have the fifth-lowest defensive rebounding rate.

Slight “LEAN” to the PELICANS -2 (-110) for a quarter-unit only because NOLA rarely handles business against bad opponents.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the OVER 236.5 (-115) for a half-unit since the Over has cashed in seven of the previous nine Kings-Pelicans games.

Also, both teams play matador defense with the Kings ranked dead-last in defensive rating and the Pelicans sitting at 28th.

Kings at Pelicans: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Pelicans 122, Kings 115

Money line (ML)

The PELICANS (-160) are a good play straight up, as they look to repeat their performance from Jan. 17 when topped the Kings by a 128-123 count as 2.5-point favorites in California’s capital city.

Sacto has been hot, winning three of the past four games straight up while covering the spread in all four; the Pellies just seem to have their number.

Against the spread (ATS)

The PELICANS -3.5 (-110) are the play, even though the Kings have cashed against the number in four straight, including their three-game road trip through Florida. New Orleans has covered in six of its past eight at home against Sacramento in the Crescent City.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 233.5 (-110) is the lean, and it’s worth a small-unit wager. All signs point to an Over result. The Over is 13-3 in the past 16 meetings between these sides in NOLA, and seven of the previous eight meetings overall.

The Over has also cashed in seven in a row for the Pelicans, and 12 of the last 13 overall. The Kings enter on a 6-2 Over run in their past eight as underdogs, and nine of 13 overall.
