Talbot was inked to replace the departed Joonas Korpisalo, who was brought in at the trade deadline for a bump. Talbot allowed 4 goals on 36 shots against the Avalanche in the opener, while Pheonix Copley started against the Hurricanes. Neither has been very good in the first two outings.
Hellebuyck hasn’t been sharp to date, allowing 4 goals in each of his outings. He’ll get better, and he was much sharper against the Panthers at home on Saturday with 29 saves on 33 shots. He was 1-1-0 with a 3.93 GAA and .890 SV% in 2 starts against the Kings last season, so we might get more of the same.
