Josh Allen, Dion Dawkins happy to see Kim Pegula at Bills camp

Josh Allen, Dion Dawkins happy to see Kim Pegula at #Bills camp:

On Friday, the Buffalo Bills wrapped their third day of 2024 training camp. The team was given a surprise.

Accompanied by her husband and the team’s owner, Terry Pegula, Kim Pegula made her first public appearance in years. She helped the team break their usual huddle at the end of practice.

Kim, 55, had a cardiac arrest episode in 2022. She had only previously watched training camp practices from an SUV on the side of the field since then. Heading out to the huddle was her first true occasion in the public eye.

It was later revealed that Pegula has battled through lingering health effects from the cardiac arrest… because of that, it made it all the more special for players to see her. Two longtime Bills certainly were.

“It just shows progress,” offensive lineman Dion Dawkins said. “We’re proud of her, that’s still mama bear.”

“The least we can do is rally around her,” quarterback Josh Allen added.

Full reaction from both Dawkins and Allen can be found below:

Bills owner Terry Pegula dissolves Pegula Sports and Entertainment

More changes:

The shakeups in the front offices of the professional sports teams in the City of Buffalo have continued as Pegula Sports and Entertainment no longer exists.

On Monday, Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula, who also owns the National Hockey League’s Buffalo Sabres, named himself the president of the hockey club. In doing so, PSE has ceased to exist.

Previously, the two teams were linked under the PSE umbrella. According to a new release, the two will now act as separate entities for the first time since 2014.

“We are thankful for the work and effort so many individuals have put into PSE over the years, but feel it is the right time for them to return home to separate organizations,” Pegula said in a statement. “We feel that now is the right time to dissolve PSE and allow everyone to focus solely on their respective organization. It is a great time to be a Buffalo sports fan and we have a tremendous amount of confidence that this restructuring will allow our businesses to continue to elevate with our teams.”

In July, Pegula made a similar change with the Bills. Pegula is also the team president of the National Football League club as the team and former Bills president Ron Raccuia announced the two sides “parted ways” at that time.

Terry Pegula co-owns both teams with his wife, Kim.

Kim Pegula went through an “unexpected health issue” in June 2022. It was later revealed to be cardiac arrest which she continues to recover from. In July, she had made appearances at Bills training camp for the first time.

In recent months with Kim Pegula stepping away from the day-to-day operations of both teams to focus on her health, Terry Pegula has appeared to become more involved with both, leading to these changes in organizational structure.

Bills Wire will provide further updates as information made is available.

Kim Pegula attends Buffalo Bills’ training camp

Kim Pegula was at #Bills camp:

Buffalo Bills co-owner Kim Pegula was present at the team’s fourth day of training camp practice on Sunday. It was her first public appearance in since her health scare involving cardiac arrest took place.

Pegula’s daughter, Jessie, a professional tennis player, announced in February via The Players’ Tribune what had occured. In June 2022, the Bills released a statement that said she sustained an “unexpected health issue.”

According to multiple reports including the Buffalo News, Pegula and her husband, Terry, were watching the practice session from a black SUV which was parked near one of the practice fields. Players such as Josh Allen and head coach Sean McDermott stopped by before and after the session to speak with her.

Jessie Pegula: Mother, Kim, suffered cardiac arrest

Jessie Pegula: Mother, Kim, suffered cardiac arrest

The daughter of Buffalo Bills co-owner Kim Pegula answered the question many had wondered: What happened?

In June 2022, the Bills released a statement that said the 53-year-old owner had sustained an “unexpected health issue.”

On Tuesday, Jessie Pegula, daughter of Bills owners Kim and Terry and a professional tennis player in her own right, revealed what happened. Jessie Pegula spoke via the Players’ Tribune and said her mother suffered cardiac arrest and said her recovery is ongoing.

Jessie Pegula’s explanation via the Players’ Tribune can be found below:

I got a call around midnight (on my mom’s birthday) from my sister Kelly who was staying at my parents’ house. Something was wrong with our mom, and she was headed to the hospital in an ambulance. My mom was asleep when my dad woke up to her going into cardiac arrest and she was unresponsive for quite a while. My sister gave her CPR until the ambulance arrived. She saved her life. Even though she doesn’t like to take credit for this terrible situation, she absolutely saved her life, followed by the critical job performed by the paramedics who arrived and were able to restore a heartbeat.

Jessie Pegula went on to describe Kim Pegula’s recovery which was called ongoing. She is dealing with “significant expressive aphasia and significant memory issues” but Jessie Pegula, like many of us would be, says she is just grateful and thankful she still can be with her mother.

“The doctors continue to be blown away by her recovery, considering where she started, and her determination is the driving force of that,” Jessie Pegula wrote.

“My mom is working hard in her recovery, she is improving, but where she ends up is still unknown,” she continued.

Bills Wire joins the rest of Buffalo in keeping the Pegulas in our thoughts at this time.

Jessica Pegula says mom Kim is doing better amid health issue

Jessica Pegula says mom Kim is doing better amid health issue:

Daughter of Buffalo Bills owner Kim Pegula, Jessica Pegula, gave a second positive update on the health of the co-owner of the Buffalo Bills.

A tennis pro playing at the annual Wimbledon tournament, Jessica Pegula said her mother is “doing a lot better” during an interview, according to the Buffalo News.

“If she wasn’t doing well, I probably wouldn’t have come. I flew out Wednesday last week, and within that time she was in a really good condition, where I felt like everything was fine, and I felt like my family had everything under control,” she said. “She’s progressing and she’s been doing rehab. I felt comfortable coming here. But that’s why I didn’t play any warmup tournaments.”

That comes after a first positive sign earlier in the week.

On Tuesday, the Bills released a statement from Pegula Sports and Entertainment which gave a first positive update on Kim Pegula’s heath. That stated:

“Kim is progressing well and is resting and rehabilitating from a health issue. We are grateful for the medical professionals providing her care and to everyone for their prayers and well wishes. We ask that you please continue to respect our need for privacy during this time.”
