West Virginia.

Sabb’s final teams: Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, Texas A&M and LSU.

More on Sabb: Sabb is considered the nation’s best athlete in the 2022 class. He has the positional flexibility to be a versatile chess piece in Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables’ defense for years to come.

Sabb, standing at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, is a bit bigger for a traditional college safety. He should have the ability to play all over the field for the Tigers.

Like his current and future teammate, Jihaad Campbell, Sabb played his first three years of high school football in New Jersey. He attended Glassboro High and Williamstown High, before transferring to IMG for his senior season.

Sabb was offered by Clemson in July 2020 and nearly committed a year to the day. He attended Clemson’s Elite Retreat last month, which certainly helped push the Tigers to the front of the pack. He told TCI back in June that Clemson’s staff is “good people,” and that they were telling him that he was a top priority.

The Tigers certainly landed a “top priority” on Saturday, as Sabb became the ninth member of Clemson’s 2022 recruiting class to pledge his verbal commitment.

Clemson’s 2022 class, comprised now of 10 total commitments with Sabb and Daylen Everette on board, currently ranks No. 16 nationally by Rivals and No. 13 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football program secured two big-time commitments Saturday from a pair of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) teammates in four-star safety Keon Sabb and four-star cornerback Daylen Everette.

Sabb (6-2, 200) is ranked as the No. 1 ATH and No. 7 overall prospect in the 2022 class by 247Sports, which tabs Everette (6-1, 185) as the No. 4 cornerback and No. 22 overall prospect in the 2022 class.

Clemson scores another big commitment in four-star CB Daylen Everette

Clemson struck again on the recruiting trail on Saturday afternoon, scoring a commitment from four-star CB Daylen Everette.

Clemson struck again on the recruiting trail on Saturday afternoon just after the commitment of four-star athlete Keon Sabb, as Sabb’s IMG Academy teammate Daylen Everette offered his pledge to the Tigers.

Everette picked Clemson over Florida State, Georgia and North Carolina, among others. Everette faked out the Tar Heels during his announcement on CBS Sports HQ, picking up a North Carolina hat before tossing it to the side and putting a Clemson cap on his head.

“My relationship with coach [Mike] Reed and coach [Brent] Venables, I’ve been talking to them for two years and we have a strong relationship,” Everette said, per 247Sports. “They’re real cool people you can talk to and talking to them, it’s not always about football. You can talk to them about personal stuff and they’re always there to talk if you need anything and it shows they care for their players.

“When I first got to campus, I felt like home and I could really see myself there. I love the people, the coaches and the campus and I could really see myself getting developed and going to the next level and that’s one of my dreams. I feel like going they can help me get to there.”

Everette held nearly 30 offers at the time of his commitment to Clemson. The IMG Academy product is the No. 4 cornerback and No. 22 overall recruit in the class of 2022, according to 247Sports. His scouting report reads:

Well-put together athlete with longer limbs. Has developed some muscle in the arms. Sprinter-like quads. A bigger cornerback that thrives in bump-and-run situations. Also capable of mirroring in off coverage with his quick feet and loose hips. Uses a strong punch to redirect at the line of scrimmage and get plays off schedule. Instincts allow him to feel out routes. Has played some offense in the past. Times jumps well. Fights through blocks to provide run support, but will need to find more leverage at the next level if he’s going to take down college-sized running backs in the open field. Hasn’t posted any verified testing numbers, but has reportedly broke 4.4 in the 40-yard dash. Picked off 11 passes as a sophomore playing in one of Virginia’s higher classifications before transferring into the powerhouse that is IMG Academy. Didn’t see many, if any, balls come his way as a junior. Highly respected by the support staff in Bradenton. One of the top corner prospects in the class of 2022 given frame and movement patterns. Has the skillset to develop into an impact player for a Top 25 program and eventually a Day 1 or Day 2 pick in the NFL Draft.

IMG Academy ATH Keon Sabb commits to Clemson

One of the top athletes in the class of 2022 has committed to Dabo Swinney and his coaching staff.

High school football’s top-ranked athlete is off the board.

Four-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy athlete Keon Sabb, the No. 1 athlete and No. 7 overall recruit in the class of 2022 according to 247Sports, committed to Clemson on Saturday afternoon. Sabb announced his decision live on CBS Sports HQ and picked the Tigers over Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Penn State and Texas A&M, among numerous other scholarship opportunities.

June was a busy month for Sabb, as he completed four official visits. Clemson was not one of the schools to host Sabb for an official after the NCAA recruiting dead period ended, though, as he had been on campus for a self-guided tour prior to the end of the dead period and for an unofficial visit long before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sabb, a New Jersey native, transferred from Williamstown High School to IMG Academy for his senior season. His 247Sports scouting report reads:

A larger safety, at least by high school standards. Already carrying 200 pounds on a 6-foot-2 frame. Gifted multi-sport athlete that has thrown down a variety of impressive dunks on the hardwood over the years. Produced as a wide receiver on Friday nights facing top public school competition in New Jersey, but is being recruited by almost everyone to play defense in college. Takes sharp angles in coverage. Gets down hill in a hurry. Does a nice job of reading and reacting to what’s in front of him. Longer arms help make a difference at the catch point. Has flashed a physical side in pads and will square up with a ball carrier in the open field, but needs to get better at fighting off blocks. Ran track as a 9th grader and posted some respectable times, but foot speed a bit of a question mark without any recent verified athletic markers. Transferred into IMG Acadmey for his senior season where he is expected to be a field safety in a loaded Ascenders’ secondary. Has the looks of someone that will eventually make an impact on the backend of Power 5 defense, but could also emerge as more of a box player and potentially even a hybrid linebacker that excels in coverage if body continues to fill out. Should get more explosive once training with a college strength coach and is likely to get more only more comfortable working on the defensive side of the ball once focus shifts completely towards making stops. Position ambiguity a plus in an era where many NFL front offices are rostering defenders that can do a variety of different things.

2022 5-star Michigan football target picks Clemson

#Michigan made a strong effort, but it wasn’t enough.

[mm-video type=playlist id=01eqbzardvge799bm2 player_id=01f1jz1vgtfhzk6ner image=https://wolverineswire.usatoday.com/wp-content/plugins/mm-video/images/playlist-icon.png]

Michigan football was hoping to get something of a boost on Saturday but to no avail.

The Wolverines had a valiant effort with 2022 Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy five-star safety Keon Sabb, as the New Jersey native originally didn’t include the maize and blue in his top group before taking a midweek official visit to Ann Arbor on June 22.

As we noted on the Locked On Wolverine Podcast, one person close to Michigan’s side of things told WolverinesWire that there was a strong belief that Sabb had narrowed down to Michigan and Clemson. However, on Saturday on CBS Sports HQ, Sabb announced that he will be joining the latter, having committed to the Tigers.

[lawrence-related id=35892,35890,35886]

Sabb is rated the No. 7 prospect overall according to 247Sports, and is the top-overall rated athlete in the 2022 class. Georgia, Penn State, LSU, and Texas A&M were also finalists for his services.

As of current, Michigan football has 16 commitments in the 2022 class, which includes one presumed safety in Germantown (TN) four-star Kody Jones. With Sabb off the board, Michigan will likely push that much harder for West Bloomfield (MI) four-star athlete Dillon Tatum, who has strongly been pursued by rival Michigan State. However, the Wolverines do have an ace in the hole there, with his former high school head coach, Ron Bellamy, coaching the position now in Ann Arbor.

Clemson lands commitment from nation’s top-ranked ATH

Clemson landed a huge commitment Saturday from the nation’s top-ranked athlete in the 2022 class.

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy safety/athlete Keon Sabb announced his commitment to the Tigers on Saturday afternoon, choosing Dabo Swinney’s program over his other finalists – Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Penn State and Texas A&M.

Sabb (6-2, 200) is ranked as the No. 1 ATH and the No. 7 overall prospect in the 2022 class, regardless of position, by 247Sports.

The Tigers extended an offer to Sabb in July 2020, and he attended Clemson’s Elite Retreat recruiting event last month. He also made visits to Penn State, Georgia, Michigan and Texas A&M in June.

Sabb’s experience at the Elite Retreat and his strong relationship with Clemson’s staff — including Swinney, defensive coordinator Brent Venables and safeties coach Mickey Conn — helped the Tigers come out on top for the elite prospect.

“He’s a great guy, [a] man of faith and awesome leader,” Sabb said of Swinney to The Clemson Insider following the Elite Retreat.

“[I have a] really good relationship with Dabo and Coach Brent, Mickey,” he added. “I had a great experience.”

Sabb transferred to IMG Academy after previously attending Williamstown (N.J.) High School.

Sabb becomes the ninth commitment in Clemson’s 2022 class, joining Strongsville (Ohio) offensive lineman Blake Miller, Greenville (S.C.) offensive lineman Collin Sadler, Myrtle Beach (S.C.) wide receiver Adam Randall, Austin (Texas) Westlake quarterback Cade Klubnik, Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith safety Sherrod Covil, St. Louis (Mo.) Lutheran North cornerback Toriano Pride, Largo (Fla.) Pinellas Park kicker Robert Gunn and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive end Jihaad Campbell.

Campbell and Sabb’s teammate at IMG Academy, four-star cornerback Daylen Everette, is set to choose between finalists Clemson, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida State and Oregon at 5 p.m.

2022 5-star Michigan football target sets decision date

Fingers crossed that #Michigan can reel him in! #GoBlue

In the words of actor Samuel L. Jackson in “Jurassic Park,” “Hold onto your butts.”

While all eyes are on top overall 2022 target, Tennessee five-star defensive tackle Walter Nolen, Michigan football has strongly courted another high-end, five-star prospect, Bradenton, Florida, IMG Academy safety Keon Sabb.

The Wolverines already have three defensive backs committed: five-star cornerback Will Johnson, four-star CB Myles Pollard and four-star safety Kody Jones. But if the maize and blue could add Sabb, the program could find itself with an elite defensive backfield for years to come.

A New Jersey native, Sabb is deciding among Michigan, Clemson, Georgia, Penn State, Texas A&M and LSU. He plans to announce his decision on Saturday, July 17, live on CBS Sports HQ.

According to 247Sports, Sabb is the No. 7 player in the country, regardless of position, and he’s No. 22 in the 247Sports composite.

247Sports’ Andrew Ivins compares him to the New England Patriots’ Kyle Dugger as far as his style of play:

A larger safety, at least by high school standards. Already carrying 200 pounds on a 6-foot-2 frame. Gifted multi-sport athlete that has thrown down a variety of impressive dunks on the hardwood over the years. Produced as a wide receiver on Friday nights facing top public school competition in New Jersey, but is being recruited by almost everyone to play defense in college. Takes sharp angles in coverage. Position ambiguity a plus in an era where many NFL front offices are rostering defenders that can do a variety of different things.

At this juncture, there’s only one 247Sports crystal ball in for Sabb. Steve Wiltfong predicts Clemson, but with a confidence level of just 3 of 10.

Sabb is being recruited by Steve Clinkscale and Ron Bellamy. He is listed at 6 feet, 2 inches, 200 pounds.

Elite Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy athlete Keon Sabb is ready to bring an end to his recruitment.

247Sports announced Wednesday that Sabb will announce his college decision Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET on CBS Sports HQ. Sabb is slated to choose between Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Penn State and Texas A&M.

June was a busy month for Sabb, as he completed four official visits with one left over for the fall. Sabb kicked off his official visit slate at Penn State on June 4 before traveling to Georgia on June 18. Trips to Michigan on June 22 and Texas A&M on June 25 ensued.

Sabb’s 247Sports scouting report reads:
