Former MSU safety signs with Tennessee Titans

Kendall Brooks spent 2021-22 patrolling the Michigan State defensive backfield. A division two transfer from North Greenville, Brooks had a surprisingly successful career in East Lansing. Now, Brooks is aiming to continue surprising in the National Football League.

The latest move for the former Spartan, who spent last season with the Arizona Cardinals practice squad,  is signing with the Tennessee Titans practice squad.

Titans sign DB Kendall Brooks to practice squad

The Tennessee Titans continue to work on the roster by adding safety Kendall Brooks to the practice squad.

The Tennessee Titans continue to work on building their roster for the 2024 season. With the 53-man unit set for now, additions and subtractions to the practice squad happen every week. Sunday was no exception.

NFL insider Aaron Wilson reports that the Titans have signed safety Kendall Brooks to their practice squad.

Released by the Washington Commanders on August 27, the former undrafted rookie free agent out of Michigan State will be joining his fourth team since entering the league.

A physical safety, Brooks originally signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2023 and participated in their offseason program and training camp.

In January 2024, Brooks signed a futures deal with the Indianapolis Colts and was released in early August. He was signed to the Commanders on August 20 and was subsequently released during final cuts. He now tries to open some eyes with the Titans.

Michigan State’s defense was ravaged with injuries throughout the 2022 fall. Someone who was forced to step up was Kendell Brooks, who made the most of his opportunity.

Brooks started his career at division-two North Greenville University, before transferring to Michigan State.

After only recording 5 tackles in 2021, Brooks had a breakout campaign in 2022. After not starting the first two games of the season, Brooks was thrusted into a starting role. Brooks finished with 100 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 3 pass defends and 3 forced fumbles.

Now, Brooks plans to pursue a professional career.

Michigan State Football has been extremely active in the transfer portal this offseason, both with incoming and outgoing players. The latest transfer sticks out a little. Kendall Brooks, a cornerback from NCAA Division II North Greenville. announced that he is transferring to MSU.

Compared to the other players, Brooks is much of an unknown quantity, but he was productive for North Greenville. In two seasons, Brooks 78 tackles over two seasons with North Greenville. Due to the pandemic, they didn’t play any games in 2020.
