Ty Dillon to run part-time with Kaulig Racing in NASCAR Cup Series for 2024

Kaulig Racing announced on Monday morning that Ty Dillon will run part-time in the No. 16 car during the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.

[autotag]Ty Dillon[/autotag] was linked to a full-time ride with [autotag]Kaulig Racing[/autotag] in the offseason; however, it never came to fruition. Dillon ended up at Rackley W.A.R. in the NASCAR Truck Series, while Kaulig Racing has the No. 16 car as a full-time entry with part-time drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series. Now, the two sides are finally coming together.

Kaulig Racing announced on Monday morning that Dillon will drive the No. 16 Cup car in five races this season, starting at Richmond Raceway this weekend. The former Spire Motorsports driver will also run at Texas Motor Speedway on April 14, New Hampshire Motor Speedway on June 23, Richmond Raceway on August 11, and Kansas Speedway on Spetember 29.

It will be fascinating to see how Dillon runs, as this likely would be the best Cup Series equipment of his career. The driver of the No. 25 truck currently sits 19th in the point standings after a rough start to the season. Dillon’s journey back to the Cup Series starts at Richmond on Sunday, and he must make the best of it with the limited amount of races in 2024.

Ty Dillon will run five NASCAR Cup series races in the No. 16 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing.

Dillon’s first start with the team will be this weekend at Richmond Raceway. A sponsor lineup for Dillon was not announced.

“I’m excited to be back in the NASCAR Cup Series with Kaulig Racing,” Dillon said. “This is the highest level of our sport and allows me to go out and prove what I can do with great leaders in Matt Kaulig, Chris Rice, Travis Mack, and the entire team. Kaulig Racing gives me the best opportunity to showcase what I can do on the track.”

Dillon currently competes full-time in the Craftsman Truck series for Rackley W.A.R. However, Dillon, and was a full-time Cup driver from 2017 through 2020 and then in 2022 and 2023. He’s made 238 career starts with seven top-10 finishes.

In addition to Richmond, Dillon will join the Cup Series field at Texas Motor Speedway (April 14), New. Hampshire Motor Speedway (June 23), Richmond Raceway (Aug. 11), and Kansas Speedway (Sept. 29).

“We’re excited to have Ty Dillon compete for Kaulig Racing this season in the NASCAR Cup Series,” Kaulig Racing president Chris Rice said. “With our continued success in the sport and support from Richard Childress Racing, it made perfect sense to lean on a veteran driver to help pilot the No. 16.”

Kraus to race for Kaulig in Cup Series

Kaulig Racing will field 22-year-old Derek Kraus in multiple NASCAR Cup Series races this season.

Kraus will make his series debut in the No. 16 Chevrolet at Las Vegas Motor Speedway next weekend (March 3). Western States Flooring will be the team’s primary sponsor. Kraus has limited experience in the Next Gen car, having practiced and qualified for the team at Richmond Raceway last season for AJ Allmendinger, who was competing in the Xfinity Series race at Road America.

Kraus made eight starts for the organization in the Xfinity Series last year. He has not had a full-time NASCAR national series ride since 2022 when he was in the Craftsman Truck Series but has been a simulator driver and part-time competitor for Kaulig Racing since then.

“I’m really excited to make my first Cup Series start with Kaulig Racin, the team that I also made my Xfinity Series debut with,” Kraus said. “I’m thankful to Matt Kaulig and Chris Rice for believing in me, as well as Western States Flooring, a partner that has supported me throughout my career. I can’t wait to get to work with Travis Mack’s group and see what we can do in Las Vegas.”

The additional Cup Series races Kraus will compete in are Phoenix Raceway (March 10), Kansas Speedway (May 5), Darlington Raceway (May 12), St. Louis (June 2), and Phoenix Raceway (Nov. 10).

“We’re excited to have Derek Kraus make his first Cup start with us at Kaulig Racing,” said team president Chris Rice. “Not only did he practice in the No. 16 last year for AJ Allmendinger, but Derek is our simulator driver that helps get our setups ready each week. We know what Derek is capable of, and we can’t wait to see what he can do starting in Las Vegas.”

Derek Kraus to run partial NASCAR Cup Series schedule for Kaulig Racing in 2024

Derek Kraus will run a partial NASCAR Cup Series schedule in the No. 16 car for Kaulig Racing during the 2024 season.

Despite having a charter, [autotag]Kaulig Racing[/autotag] doesn’t have a full-time driver for its No. 16 Cup car. The NASCAR organization is placing part-time drivers, such as A.J. Allmendinger, Shane van Gisbergen, and Josh Williams, into the ride. Now, Kaulig Racing has added another part-time driver to the mix, and he represents the youngest of the bunch.

On Thursday afternoon, Kaulig Racing announced that [autotag]Derek Kraus[/autotag] will run six NASCAR Cup Series races in the No. 16 car starting at Las Vegas Motor Speedway next weekend. Kraus is a 22-year-old driver who made select NASCAR Xfinity Series starts with Kaulig Racing during the 2023 season. Now, he is making the jump to the Cup Series.

Kraus will also drive the entry at Phoenix Raceway on March 10 and November 10, Kansas Speedway on May 5, Darlington Raceway on May 12, and World Wide Technology Raceway on June 2. This is a great move for Kaulig Racing as the team adds a young driver to the lineup. If Kraus impresses, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him more in 2025.

Kaulig Racing to field van Gisbergen’s Cup Series effort

Shane van Gisbergen’s slate of seven NASCAR Cup Series races will be with Kaulig Racing in the No. 16 Chevrolet.

“When I first started talking with Trackhouse about moving to the U.S., we had no idea how many races we could secure but I knew I wanted to be with that team and organization,” van Gisbergen said. “There has been a lot of hard work to get to this point and I could not be happier to know that I get to race for an Xfinity Series championship and then get a proper go at the Cup Series on road courses and ovals. Kaulig is a proven winner in both Xfinity and the Cup Series, and I know with the alliance with Trackhouse, this will be an incredible first year for me in NASCAR.”

It was announced in December that New Zealand’s van Gisbergen, a three-time champion in Australia’s Supercars Championship, will run a limited Cup Series schedule in addition to being full-time in the Xfinity Series with Kaulig Racing. Thursday, Kaulig Racing and Trackhouse Racing, who are working in conjunction to field van Gisbergen in his transition to full-time NASCAR competition, announced he would drive the No. 16. The car is going to be split between multiple drivers this season.

Van Gisbergen’s seven Cup Series races are:

  • Circuit of the Americas (March 24)
  • Talladega Superspeedway (April 21)
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway (May 26)
  • Chicago street course (July 7)
  • Watkins Glen (Sept. 15)
  • Talladega Superspeedway (Oct. 6)
  • Las Vegas (Oct. 20)

“I’m excited to work with Trackhouse and have Shane join our Cup program this season,” Kaulig Racing president Chris Rice said. “When we locked in SVG for the Xfinity Series, it just became a natural next step on the Cup side since we have all the existing infrastructure and a relationship with the pit crews.

“Remember, SVG had to pass our car to win the Chicago race. We finished second. So, now we get to race with him which is kind of awesome.”

[lawrence-auto-related count=3 category=1428]

Van Gisbergen’s victory at Chicago came in his Cup Series debut for Trackhouse Racing. He then made the decision to leave Australia and the series to move to the United States for a NASCAR career.

“Shane is one of the best talents I’ve ever seen,” Trackhouse Racing founder Justin Marks said. “We know he will be competitive on the road courses, so we needed to challenge him and ourselves on oval tracks against Cup Series drivers. This is a big freshman season for Shane, and I really appreciate Matt Kaulig and Chris Rice for helping us bring this to life.”

Josh Williams to run partial Cup Series schedule with Kaulig Racing in 2024

Kaulig Racing announced on Monday evening that Josh Williams will run select NASCAR Cup Series events in the No. 16 car in 2024.

[autotag]Kaulig Racing[/autotag] will only have one full-time driver in the NASCAR Cup Series, with Daniel Hemric piloting the No. 31 car. As for the No. 16 car, it will compete in every race due to its status as a chartered entry, with A.J. Allmendinger behind the wheel for select races. Until Monday evening, Allmendinger was the only driver announced for the No. 16 car.

In 2024, Kaulig Racing will have [autotag]Josh Williams[/autotag] behind the wheel of the No. 16 entry for select races starting at the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum. Williams is the full-time driver of the No. 11 Xfinity car for Kaulig Racing after moving away from DGM Racing. The Xfinity Series driver has some experience in the Cup Series, but it is his best equipment yet.

It will be interesting to see who else drives the No. 16 Cup car for Kaulig Racing. Allmendinger and Williams are the only two drivers currently announced, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see more competitors behind the wheel. Kaulig Racing’s new approach with the No. 16 car will give the team its best ability to compete every week.

Kaulig Racing’s 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season preview

Kaulig Racing enters the 2024 NASCAR season looking for more speed and success. Here, you can check out Kaulig’s 2024 season preview!

[autotag]Kaulig Racing[/autotag]’s NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series programs have been completely revamped ahead of the 2024 season. Daniel Hemric has replaced Justin Haley full-time in the No. 31 Cup car, while A.J. Allmendinger returns to the Xfinity Series full-time. The No. 16 Cup car is now expected to be used by multiple drivers in 2024.

With new situations in place, Kaulig Racing is looking to improve its speed compared to 2023. It wasn’t a perfect season outside of Allmendinger’s win at the Charlotte ROVAL, but could the NASCAR organization turn it around? It shouldn’t be out of the picture yet.

Daniel Dye joins Kaulig Racing part-time for 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season

Kaulig Racing announced on Tuesday morning that Daniel Dye will drive the No. 10 Xfinity car for select races in 2024.

[autotag]Kaulig Racing[/autotag] announced on Tuesday morning that [autotag]Daniel Dye[/autotag] will drive the No. 10 Xfinity car in select races during the 2024 NASCAR season. Dye will compete in 10 Xfinity Series events starting at Daytona International Speedway. The No. 10 car is expected to be a part-time entry as the organization fields three full-time cars in 2024.

This is undoubtedly the best equipment Dye has ever received in his short time in NASCAR. The 20-year-old driver was full-time with GMS Racing in the NASCAR Truck Series last season but moved to McAnally-Hilgemann Racing following his former team’s closure. In the Xfinity Series, Dye ran two races with Alpha Prime Racing in 2023.

It is a great move for Dye and Kaulig Racing as they look at their possible future together. Kaulig Racing has A.J. Allmendinger and Shane van Gisbergen as full-time Xfinity Series drivers, and they likely won’t stick around for too much longer. If everything goes right, Dye’s partnership with Kaulig Racing could go beyond 10 races in the future.

Kaulig Racing announces expanded partnership with Cirkul in 2024

Cirkul has expanded its sponsorship with Daniel Hemric, Kaulig Racing for the 2024 season. Find out more details about the partnership!

[autotag]Daniel Hemric[/autotag] used to be in the NASCAR Cup Series, but it wasn’t with Kaulig Racing. Hemric drove the No. 8 Cup car for Richard Childress Racing in 2019 but returned to the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Now, the 2021 Xfinity Series champion returns to the Cup Series with Kaulig Racing and brings a partner that will sponsor half of the season.

On Saturday morning, [autotag]Kaulig Racing[/autotag] announced Cirkul’s schedule for Hemric and the No. 31 team for the 2024 NASCAR season. Cirkul will be on the No. 31 car for 19 of the 38 races, most notably the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum, Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600, the Chicago Street Course, the return of the oval layout in Indianapolis, and season-finale at Phoenix Raceway.

This is a big deal for Hemric, who only has 19 races available for other potential sponsors. The 32-year-old driver’s return to the Cup Series has a major sponsorship commitment, which should help his long-term future and Kaulig Racing’s money situation. Overall, Cirkul will have a major presence with Hemric in most of the biggest Cup Series races.

Kaulig Racing reveals spotter lineup for the 2024 NASCAR season

Kaulig Racing has revealed its spotter lineup for the 2024 NASCAR season. Find out the details about Kaulig Racing’s new lineup!

[autotag]Kaulig Racing[/autotag] has undergone significant changes for its NASCAR teams as the 2024 season nears. Daniel Hemric will drive the No. 31 Cup car, replacing Justin Haley, while the No. 16 Cup car features several drivers. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Allmendinger, Josh Williams, and Shane van Gisbergen will run full-time. Now, the team’s spotter lineup is solidified.

On Friday afternoon, Kaulig Racing announced its new spotter lineup for the 2024 NASCAR season as they eagerly await the opportunity to trophy hunt again. Joe White will serve as the spotter for Williams and the No. 16 Cup car, while Coleman Pressley guides Allmendinger in the Xfinity Series. Finally, Frank Deiny Jr. will be the spotter for Hemric and van Gisbergen.

It is an interesting combination, as Pressley is the only spotter to have one task for the 2024 NASCAR season. Perhaps, the thought process is to give Allmendinger the best opportunity at winning races and a championship. Either way, Kaulig Racing is setting itself up well for what could be a bounceback year in NASCAR.
