Lady Vols’ Kameron Simmonds transfers to Florida State.

Tennessee sophomore forward Kameron Simmonds announced she is transferring to Florida State.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that I will be transferring to Florida State University,” Simmonds said. “I’m so excited for this new opportunity and next chapter in my life and soccer career. Thank you to my family and everyone who has supported me throughout my journey with love, prayers, and encouragement. Go Noles!

“Huge thank you to my friends, teammates and especially the coaches and staff at Tennessee for all of the love and support this past year and half. Tennessee will forever have a special place in my heart.”

Simmonds appeared in 34 games from 2022-23 at Tennessee. She recorded 12 goals, three assists and 27 points. Simmonds represented Jamaica at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Auburn eliminates the Lady Vols from the SEC Tournament.

No. 8 seed Auburn (8-6-5, 3-4-3 SEC) defeated No. 9 Tennessee (8-6-4, 3-4-3 SEC), 2-1, Sunday, during the first round of the SEC Tournament at Ashton Brosnaham Stadium in Pensacola, Florida.

Tennessee led, 1-0, after Kameron Simmonds scored an unassisted goal in the 17th minute of the match. Simmonds’ goal is her eighth of the season.

Auburn tied the game, 1-1, on a goal by Becky Contreras. Maddie Prohaska was credited with an assist on the game-tying goal during the 38th minute.

Auburn led, 2-1, after Haley Duca scored an unassisted goal in the 41st minute.

Tennessee goalkeeper Ally Zazzara made three saves in the match.

Auburn outshot the Lady Vols, 12-10, with five of the Tigers’ scoring chances landing on goal. Tennessee had three shots on goal.

Tennessee will await its postseason fate on Nov. 6 when the NCAA holds its tournament selection show.

Lady Vols secure SEC Tournament berth with win at Vanderbilt.

Tennessee (8-5-4, 3-4-3 SEC) defeated Vanderbilt (8-5-5, 3-5-2), 1-0, Thursday at Vanderbilt Complex in Nashville, Tennessee.

Thursday’s loss was the Commodores’ first at home this season and the Lady Vols’ first road win at Vanderbilt since 2013.

Tennessee is ninth in league standings and secured a berth in the SEC Tournament. The Lady Vols will next play against No. 8 seed Auburn in the SEC Tournament. The contest will take place in Pensacola, Florida on Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m. EDT.

Tennessee and the Commodores were tied, 0-0, at halftime before sophomore Kameron Simmonds scored during the 60th minute.

Vanderbilt outshot the Lady Vols, 17-5, with seven of the Commodores’ scoring chances landing on goal. Tennessee had seven shots in the contest with two landing on goal.

Goalkeeper Ally Zazzara recorded a career-high seven saves en route to posting a shutout.

Tennessee (4-1-1, 0-0-0 SEC) defeated Radford (3-3-1, 0-0-0 Big South), 3-1, Thursday at Regal Soccer Stadium.

Redford led, 1-0, after Alexeis Kirnos scored during the first minute of the match.

Kirnos’ goal took place within 35 seconds of the match, representing Radford’s lone shot on goal. The Lady Vols outshot Radford, 25-2, in the game.

Tennessee had eight of its scoring chances land on goal.

Tennessee’s Maria Nelson tied the game, 1-1, in the 17th minute. Kameron Simmonds and Jordan Fusco were each credited with an assist on the game-tying goal.

Simmonds later gave the Lady Vols a lead with an unassisted goal during the 29th minute.

Tennessee extended its advantage to, 3-1, on an unassisted goal by Sizzy Lawton.

Simmonds is currently tied for first in the SEC with Jordyn Rhodes of Kentucky in goals (six), goals per game (1.00) and points (12).

Tennessee (3-1-1, 0-0 SEC) and Indiana (3-0-2, 0-0 Big Ten) tied, 2-2, Thursday at Regal Soccer Stadium.

The Hoosiers led, 2-0, at halftime, scoring two goals in a 30-second span.

Paige Webber and Sophia Black scored for Indiana in the 34th minute.

Kameron Simmonds scored for the Lady Vols in 53rd minute, her fifth goal this season. Macaira Midgley was credited with an assist.

Tennessee tied the match in the 79th minute. Jaida Thomas her first goal of the season, while Ally Brown recorded an assist.

Tennessee outshot the Hoosiers, 28-6. The Lady Vols recorded eight shots on goal, while Indiana had five shots land on target.

Tennessee (3-0) defeated East Tennessee State (1-1-1), 3-1, Thursday at Regal Soccer Stadium.

Sophomore Kameron Simmonds scored two goals for the Lady Vols in the contest. She leads Tennessee with four goals scored during the 2023 campaign. Simmonds totaled eight shots during the Lady Vols’ first three contests this season.

Tennessee’s third score of the contest came from an own goal by the Buccaneers.

Nayeli Diaz and Giselle Washington recorded assists for Tennessee.

Sinoxolo Cesane scored East Tennessee State’s lone goal.

The Lady Vols will next play at SMU on Sunday. Kickoff between Tennessee and SMU is slated for 8 p.m. EDT in Dallas, Texas.

Kameron Simmonds named SEC Offensive Player of the Week

Lady Vols’ forward Kameron Simmonds named SEC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring goals versus California and Lipscomb.

Tennessee sophomore forward Kameron Simmonds was named Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Simmonds scored two goals last week for the Lady Vols. Tennessee opened its 2023 season with victories against California and Lipscomb.

She converted a penalty kick versus California and scored an unassisted goal in the 81st minute at Lipscomb.

Simmonds played in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, representing Jamaica. Jamaica was the first Caribbean nation to advance from group stage in the tournament.

Tennessee will next play Thursday versus East Tennessee State. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. EDT at Regal Soccer Stadium.

The 2023 season is Tennessee’s second under head coach Joe Kirt.

Five Lady Vols named to 2023 SEC preseason watch list.

Five Tennessee student-athletes have been named to the 2023 Southeastern Conference soccer preseason watch list.

Jaida Thomas, Lawson Renie, Sheridan Michel, Jordan Fusco and Kameron Simmonds preseason honors for the Lady Vols.

Thomas is a three-time All-SEC performer and earned All-America honors in  2021.

Renie led Tennessee in minutes played over the last two seasons.

Michel joins the Lady Vols in 2023 after playing two seasons at Oklahoma, She earned All-Big 12 honors as a sophomore.

Fusco is a two-year returning starter for Tennessee in 2023.

Simmonds represented Jamaica in the Cup of Nations and was on the country’s 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup roster.

Tennessee will kick off its 2023 season Thursday versus California at Regal Soccer Stadium (7 p.m. EDT).

Kameron Simmonds joining Jamaica’s women’s national team

Lady Vols’ Kameron Simmonds is joining Jamaica’s women’s national team.

Tennessee freshman forward Kameron Simmonds is joining the senior Jamaican women’s national team ahead of the Cup of Nations Tournament.

The Cup of Nations Tournament will take place Feb. 16-22 in Australia.

The four-team tournament will feature Australia, Czechia, Jamaica and Spain.

The six-match tournament will kickoff at Industree Group Stadium in Gosford on Feb. 16. Spain will play Jamaica followed by Australia versus Czechia to open tournament play.

Jamaica will travel to Sydney against Czechia on Feb. 19 before ending tournament play versus Australia on Feb. 22.

Simmonds appeared in 16 matches for the Lady Vols in 2022, scoring four goals on 23 shots (13 on goal).
