LeBron James posted a heartfelt message to his daughter after the presidential election

LeBron spoke with love about his daughter.

As the entire NBA took Tuesday off for Election Day in the United States and the results poured in, it took time for many folks to digest the news.

Even though sports is likely not on the mind of many Americans today after such an impactful political decision, the gravity of the results will certainly impact virtually everyone in America. That includes four-time NBA Finals MVP and Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, who expressed his thoughts on social media after the election.

It isn’t easy to have the right words to say right now, but James immediately thought of his 10-year-old daughter Zhuri.

ELECTION RESULTS: It’s hard to write about sports today.

Here is what James wrote on Instagram:

“HEAVY ON MY HEART & MIND THIS AM MY PRINCESS đŸ‘žđŸŸ!! PROMISE TO PROTECT YOU WITH EVERYTHING I HAVE AND MORE!! WE DONT NEED THEIR HELP!”

James had a similar reaction when Donald Trump won the U.S. Presidential Election in 2016.

Kyle Hamilton headlines Ravens get out the vote initiative

In addition to the NFL’s get out the vote PSA, you also have team specific versions, with Kyle Hamilton representing the Baltimore Ravens.

Happy Election Day, everybody! However, in these times, it’s really more “Election Month,” as tens of millions of Americans had already voted by the end of this past weekend.

Campaigns run longer than ever, and election information (misinformation and disinformation, too, unfortunately) has never been more accessible and ubiquitous. Yet, according to the NFL Public Service Announcements that have been pervasive this election season, only 66% of eligible voters actually turn out.

In addition to the league’s get-out-and-vote PSA, there are team-specific versions, with strong safety Kyle Hamilton representing the Baltimore Ravens.

As you can see from the video above, Hamilton cited that 66% figure, denoting that giving 2/3 effort is “just not good enough, whether you’re cheering from the stands or your living room.”

Hamilton implored viewers to “do your research, and let your voice be heard.”

Kyle Hamilton is the perfect choice for the Ravens’ Rock the Vote campaign, as he’s a very socially conscious person. You can see in the most recent tweet below:

Hamilton posted that shortly after the first presidential debate, the only one included current incumbent President Joe Biden. In July, POTUS 46 dropped out, and he was replaced by his Vice President, Kamala Harris.

According to Electoral-Vote.com, the most recent Maryland polls show Harris a 64% to 31% advantage over Donald Trump. That’s in line with last time out, when Joe Biden won Maryland and its ten electoral votes by a margin of 65% to 33% over Trump.

No Republican has won Maryland since Ronald Reagan in 1988, with Democrats winning by well into double-digit margins.

Travis Kelce ‘liked’ an Instagram post endorsing Kamala Harris ahead of the U.S. presidential election

Travis Kelce offered a glimpse at how he’s leaning.

When Taylor Swift offered her public endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for the U.S. presidential election, there was plenty of speculation on when (or if) boyfriend Travis Kelce would follow suit.

And though Kelce has yet to speak out publicly about his politics, he may have offered a glimpse at how he is leaning ahead of Tuesday’s presidential election.

The Chiefs tight end made a surprise appearance at Friday’s Eras Tour concert at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, arriving about midway through the show. Following that concert, Amanda Santa — the girlfriend of Kelce’s manager Aaron Eanes — took to Instagram to offer her own endorsement of the Harris-Walz ticket.

Fans quickly noticed that Kelce “liked” the post as well.

Anyone who has followed Kelce’s career probably shouldn’t be surprised about the “like” either. Kelce was among the first white players to take a knee during the national anthem in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick’s protest of police brutality. He’s also been a spokesperson for Pfizer and Bud Light — two brands associated with progressive causes.

Voting records have Kelce as a registered voter in Missouri, and his 2024 ballot is listed as pending.

How Jayden Daniels’ Hail Mary could mean Kamala Harris is winning the presidential election

The Commanders Rule could be alive and well.

One successful Hail Mary could mean another for the 2024 presidential election.

As we’ve written about in recent weeks, there’s the coincidence named after the Washington Commanders. As our Robert Zeglinski wrote, “The precedent maintains that if the Commanders win this last home game, the incumbent political party will keep the presidency. … It has held true in 17 of the 19 U.S. presidential elections.”

We all thought that Jayden Daniels’ injury might cost the Democrats an election, but there he was on Sunday, slinging the game-winning Hail Mary that won the Commanders a game over the Chicago Bears.

Will this tradition hold? We’ll find out in a week.

Eagles fan drops a ‘Go Birds’ at Kamala Harris’ CNN town hall, which is peak Eagles

Go Birds.

Saying “Go Birds” for Philadelphia Eagles fans is like “Roll Tide” in Alabama.

You can say it at any time, in any context, whether greeting or leaving, and Eagles fans will acknowledge it.

But saying it before asking a presidential candidate like Kamala Harris a question? Is THAT a good time to do it?

The answer is OF COURSE! Especially because her CNN town hall on Wednesday took place in Pennsylvania.

A voter got up to ask a question and immediately prefaced it with, ‘First of all, Go Birds.” That got a big smile from Harris, as it should. Watch:

Kamala Harris trolls Donald Trump attending Alabama-Georgia with plane banner mocking debate refusal

It’s not college football Saturday without rivals trolling each other

Former president, and current republican nominee in this year’s election, Donald Trump is headed to the biggest game in the college football world this weekend when No. 4 Alabama hosts No. 2 Georgia.

But he won’t be able to escape the shadow of the campaign of his opponent, Kamala Harris, despite the game being played in a deep red southern state.

We mean that literally.

As Trump makes himself comfortable at Bryant-Denny Stadium, CNN’s Kaitlin Collins reports the Harris campaign has hired a small plane to fly a banner over Tuscaloosa mocking Trump’s refusal to participate in a second debate against Harris.

The banner will reportedly read “Trump’s Punting on 2nd Debate”.

Both campaigns are focusing on college football this Saturday. While Trump is in Alabama to see the Crimson Tide face the Bulldogs, Harris’ running mate Tim Walz attended Michigan-Minnesota at the Big House and wisely declined to predict a winner.

We’ll see how Harris prodding Trump in Alabama plays out in the long run.

Caitlin Clark talked liking Taylor Swift’s Kamala Harris endorsement by encouraging everyone to vote

Caitlin Clark wants you to vote this November in the 2024 presidential election.

After the first 2024 presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, music icon Taylor Swift gave a detailed endorsement to the vice president in November’s election.

Plenty of noticeable names liked Swift’s post about the endorsement on Instagram, including Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark.

Ahead of Wednesday night’s game against the Las Vegas Aces, USA Today‘s Christine Brennan asked Clark about that social media approval and if that meant she was supporting Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

“I have this amazing platform, so I think the biggest thing would be just to encourage people to register to vote,” Clark said in her response. “Continue to educate yourself with the candidates that we have, the policies that they’re supporting.

“I think that’s the biggest thing you can do, and that’s what I would recommend to every single person that has that opportunity in our country.”

While that’s not an outright endorsement, you can kind of read between the lines a bit to see how Clark’s response may hint at who she would endorse.

There is still plenty of time before this year’s election for Clark to make an endorsement so we’ll see soon enough if the WNBA rookie superstar decides to wade into the political waters and be more direct with her approach.

Kamala Harris giving Donald Trump a perplexed look during the presidential debate turned into an instant meme

This meme from the 2024 Presidential debate was everywhere

Vice President Kamala Harris’s reactions to former President Donald Trump during Tuesday night’s 2024 Presidential debate turned into an absolutely golden meme.

Harris seemed a bit flummoxed by Trump’s words, as is customary of opposing presidential candidates.

However, the way Harris appeared absolutely perplexed by Trump’s words in particular got the internet thinking about all the times they’ve gotten that look from other people.

Have you ever given a silly excuse for why you haven’t taken the trash out?

Ever came up with a whopper of a story to try and explain why your homework was late? Tried to convince someone at McDonald’s to let you have breakfast after the window closes?

You’ve probably gotten this look. Enjoy these very good memes.

BeyoncĂ© didn’t ultimately show up at the 2024 Democratic National Convention despite speculation

Well, BeyoncĂ© didn’t end up performing at the 2024 DNC after all.

Despite heavy speculation of a possible appearance, music superstar BeyoncĂ© didn’t ultimately make an appearance at Thursday night’s 2024 Democratic National Convention finale.

Apparently, she was never on the slate to begin with for the event.

“BeyoncĂ© was never scheduled to be there,” BeyoncĂ©’s representative told The Hollywood Reporter. “The report of a performance is untrue.”

A possible appearance made lots of sense in theory once word spread of a surprise guest to close out the 2024 DNC. BeyoncĂ© gave the green light for Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris to use the song “Freedom” for her and Tim Walz’s campaign.

Outside of Beyoncé’s support for the Barack Obama presidential campaigns, the music megastar campaigned for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and endorsed the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris presidential ticket in 2020.

While it’s very much still possible BeyoncĂ© will support the Harris/Walz ticket before Election Day, a DNC appearance wasn’t to be.

Steph Curry voiced his support for Kamala Harris during a virtual DNC appearance

Steph Curry made an appearance during the final night of the 2024 DNC.

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr wasn’t the only member of his organization who appealed to the 2024 Democratic National Convention this week.

Warriors superstar Steph Curry made a virtual appearance on Thursday to show his support for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the upcoming presidential election for the DNCs final night, sporting his 2024 Paris Olympic gold medal in the video.

Curry compared the unity that it took for Team USA basketball to bring home the gold to the unity he feels Harris will bring to the country.

“This is about preserving hope and belief in our country,” Curry said in his remarks supporting Harris’ candidacy for president. “In the words of Michelle Obama, do something! Go vote. Be active. Let’s show out in November like never before.”
