Clemson continues to have its eyes on an elite Volunteer State cornerback in the class of 2024.

The Clemson Insider spoke with Lipscomb Academy (Nashville, Tenn.) four-star Kaleb Beasley on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound rising junior talked about how he continues to improve his relationship with multiple members of Clemson’s defensive coaching staff, as well as giving the latest on his recruitment.

“They’ve been keeping in touch with me a lot,” Beasley said. “My coach will tell me to call Coach Ski or the DBs coach (Mike Reed). I talk to Coach Ski the most, pretty much about my family and stuff like that because he’s from Nashville. We just talk about my family and getting down there.”

According to Beasley, both Lemanski Hall and Wesley Goodwin stopped by his high school — Lipscomb Academy — earlier this past week during the live evaluation period.

Beasley and his teammates kicked off spring practice Monday.

“It’s really good,” Beasley said regarding his relationship with Hall,” because like I said, he’s from Nashville. My dad and him relate a lot because they know a lot of people. And, he’s really good friends with one of my coaches at my school — Coach (Scott) Malinoff. So, there’s a really good relationship there.”

The same can be said for his relationship with Reed.

There’s a good chance that Beasley will be among the rising juniors that Clemson offers come June 1, especially considering his connection to the program and the fact that he’s already made multiple trips to campus.

Right now, Beasley considers the Tigers to be a top-five school in his current recruitment. An offer would only further cement Clemson’s status as a top school in his process.

“It would be a blessing like it would be crazy,” he said regarding a potential offer. “They don’t really offer a lot of people from Tennessee as it is, and it is Clemson too. So, getting one from there would be a blessing.”

Beasley hasn’t been to Clemson since he was in attendance for the team’s 48-27 win over Wake Forest on Nov. 20, 2021, at Memorial Stadium. He was supposed to return for Clemson’s Orange & White Spring Game on April 9 but was unfortunately unable to do so.

While he’s unsure of the dates at the current moment, Beasley said that he does plan on returning to Clemson this summer, where he’ll likely camp and take in another unofficial visit.

A lot has changed since Beasley last camped at Clemson.

As far as his recruitment is concerned, Beasley pinpointed Oklahoma, Tennessee, LSU, Notre Dame and Clemson as the schools currently recruiting him the hardest.

Right now, he’s enjoying the process and wants to see what schools show him the most love and attention come Sept. 1.

Five-Star 2024 Tennessee cornerback set to visit Notre Dame in April

The Irish hope to impress the 5-Star

Although the Irish currently do not have a commitment in their 2024 class, that doesn’t mean they have not been working hard at securing future commitments. That effort by Marcus Freeman and his staff seem to be paying off with Tennessee cornerback Kaleb Beasley.

The five-star announced that he will be visiting South Bend next month, the first weekend of April on the second. This is a huge development as Beasley already holds offers from not just the Irish but also from Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma and a host of others.

At six-feet and 174-pounds, Beasley has the skill set to lock down bigger wide receivers. His frame will allow him to continue to add weight as he gets older and become more of a complete player.

Although it is just an unofficial visit, it’s still a good sign that Beasley is heading north on his own dime to check out the campus. Hopefully it is the start of many more trips to South Bend for Beasley.

Catch up with a flurry of February offers for Oklahoma Sooners Football

Oklahoma has sent out plenty of offers over the past several weeks. Here’s a look at who the Sooners have targeted.

With national signing day officially in the rearview, Oklahoma has turned its focus to the 2023 and 2024 classes for the most part.

OU has four commits in the 2023 recruiting class, good for No. 15 nationally and third in the Big 12 conference according to 247Sports. That list includes quarterback Jackson Arnold, wide receiver Ashton Cozart, offensive lineman Joshua Bates and athlete Erik McCarty.

Here’s a look at who the Sooners have sent out offers to over the past several weeks.

Potential future QB target emerges for Clemson

The Clemson Insider has outlined a new potential quarterback target in the 2024 recruiting class for Clemson. There are four quarterbacks – Catawba Ridge (Fort Mill, S.C.) four-star Jadyn Davis, Burleson (Texas) four-star Dylan Raiola, Chapin (S.C.) …

The Clemson Insider has outlined a new potential quarterback target in the 2024 recruiting class for Clemson.

There are four quarterbacks — Catawba Ridge (Fort Mill, S.C.) four-star Jadyn Davis, Burleson (Texas) four-star Dylan Raiola, Chapin (S.C.) four-star Jayden Bradford and The Loomis Chaffee School (Fiskdale, MA.) Dante Reno — that has been linked to Clemson since the onset of the recruiting period for the sophomore class.

The Tigers have started to express interest in Lipscomb Academy (Nashville, TN.) QB Braden Graham. If his school sounds familiar, it’s because he’s the teammate of another Clemson target in 2024 four-star cornerback Kaleb Beasley.

“I got a bunch of their coaches that follow me on Twitter and my 7-on-7 coach — he’s my recruiter — he’s been pushing my name a lot to [Clemson] recently and they’ve been getting some word back on me getting on a visit this summer and coming down to a camp,” Graham told TCI last week. “Just get down to the facilities, so I can throw in front of them, to show I’m worthy of being able to play at that high of a level.”

Graham hasn’t had any direct contact with Clemson’s coaching staff, that’s been down through his 7-on-7 coach, who has spoken with both Clemson offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter and cornerbacks coach Mike Reed. Though, he indicated to TCI that he should be getting on the phone with a staff member in the near future.

“I’ve just gotten back that they’re interested in me and I like the way that I’ve been playing and that they want me to get down on a visit, so I can see them in person and throw in person,” he said. “That’s kind of the way everything is going with quarterbacks now. You gotta throw in person. They like your tape, obviously, but with quarterbacks, it’s not as easy as watching your film and offering you.

Graham was able to throw in front of the coaches from the University of Georgia, Kentucky and Ole Miss. It’s how the pro-style quarterback was able to rack in his first three offers.

He’s looking forward to getting down to the Dabo Swinney Camp and doing the same thing there.

“I’ve got a ton of places I’m gonna be going to over the camp season and visiting different spots and just trying to figure out what I like in a college,” Graham said. “Clemson definitely is a high-profile place and they hold their guys to a high standard.

“My teammate — Kaleb Beasley — has been down there a few times and he’ll tell you first hand that it’s a different environment. I’m excited to go down there and experience it. It’ll definitely be fun to go down there and have a visit.”

In any event, Graham is looking forward to meeting Streeter. Funny enough, Clemson’s offensive coordinator’s nephew goes to a school down the street from Graham and he’s known him his whole life. They’ve been friends since Graham was a third-grader and wouldn’t you know, he’s a talented quarterback too.

As we know, that sophomore season can be a pivotal turning point for the recruitment process and development of a young quarterback. With that said, how did Graham feel like he developed as the season went on?

“My sophomore season went pretty good,” he said. “I developed much more from freshman to sophomore year. I showed lots of power, I gained a lot of power. I was able to make more plays, extend plays and be more of an athlete. I was beat up the whole year as a freshman and I was able to keep the team going and keep driving us to win.”

How would Graham describe himself as a player to those who have never seen him play before?

“I’m a quarterback that is very detailed,” Graham said. “I expect a lot out of my guys, but I also push them and love them up at the same time. I got a talented arm. Accuracy is my thing. I can hit any throw on the field at any moment and I can extend plays and make plays downfield.”

Elite Volunteer State cornerback recaps ‘dope’ Clemson game day visit

This talented cornerback and four-star prospect in the class of 2024 made his way back to campus last Saturday for an unofficial visit.

Lipscomb Academy (Nashville, Tenn.) cornerback Kaleb Beasley — a  6-foot-1, 180-pound sophomore in the class of 2024 — attended the Tigers’ 48-27 win over Wake Forest at Death Valley.

Beasley, who already holds offers from Power Five schools like the University of Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, N.C. State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, previously visited Clemson this past summer when he competed at the Dabo Swinney Camp.

Though, Saturday marked his first gameday experience in the Valley.

“It was good,” Beasley told The Clemson Insider regarding his return visit to Tiger Town. “It was dope. The highlight for me was definitely going up on the hill before all the players ran down. It was Senior Day too, so there were so many people. I got to talk to Coach [Lemanski] Hall and Coach [Mike] Reed a lot.”

That being said, what was the overall message Beasley heard from Clemson’s defensive ends coach and cornerbacks coach, respectively?

“I talk to them on the phone a lot, but what they say to me a lot is they can’t offer 24s, but they wanted to let me know that they pretty much have offered me, but they haven’t offered me type thing,” he said. “They want me to keep in touch with them because they want to build a close relationship.”

Beasley is appreciative of how upfront and honest Clemson is about the recruiting process. Obviously, he’d love to already have that offer in hand, but he understands the philosophy that they abide by.

“I think that’s what’s cool about Clemson is they want to see how you grow and how you build as a man before they offer you,” Beasley explained. “I think that’s cool what Dabo does.”

Beasley certainly picked the right game to go to. He got a chance to be in the locker room before and after the game.

“I don’t even think it was an upset, I thought Clemson was going to beat ‘em the whole time,” he added. “Dabo’s a cool guy. You could definitely tell that they were gonna win. They were watching film before the game. I felt like they were really prepared.

“Before the game, all the players were locked in. You knew it was just a different kind of vibe. Then after the game, they were all hype. They were all jumping around and stuff. It was dope. Coach Dabo was joking around. It was funny.”

Beasley’s visit certainly reaffirmed his interest in Clemson. He stated that he “definitely” wants to go back as soon as he can. Beasley remains pretty happy about how his relationship with Clemson’s staff has progressed over the past couple of months.

“My relationship with them has definitely gotten better because I call them every week,” he said. Coach Ski coached at Ensworth down here in Tennessee and one of our coaches used to coach with him, so he’ll just text him when I should call him. It’s like every week that I’ll get on the phone with him and Coach Reed and we’ll talk about football, school, everything.”

Obviously, Beasley doesn’t have that coveted Clemson offer in hand, but he’s talked about his close relationships with the coaching staff and how it’s developing that way. While it’s still early in his process, where would he say Clemson currently stands in his recruitment?

“They’re definitely top-2, one of the top schools,” he said.
