These are some of the players Jason will be locking in his lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel for this weekend’s slate.

Quarterbacks

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

$8,200 DRAFTKINGS
$8,700 FANDUEL

It was close up top between Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Kyler Murray, but the consistency of what Mahomes does in September is as good as it gets. Mahomes has a passer rating of 125.5 with 3,984 yards, 38 touchdowns and 1 interception in 12 games in the month of September in his career. The dude just flat-out balls and is averaging 32 points per game to start the year. This should be another close game with a over/under of 55, which should bring out the best in Mahomes. The Kansas City defense is not putting Mahomes in a position to coast late in the game, which provides the opportunity for another ceiling game. I will have shares of Jackson and Murray as well, but I give a slight lean to Mahomes in Week 3.

Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks

$7,600 DRAFTKINGS
$8,400 FANDUEL

This is a juicy matchup for Wilson and the entire Seattle offense. Coming off a horrible loss last week against Tennessee, I think Russell comes out cooking and doesn’t let his foot off the gas in this one. We have another game against a weak defense here, along with a total of 55.5, which is one of the highest on the board. A full-game stack is in play here, where I love going with Russ, DK, and Tyler Lockett, then running it back with one of the opposing players from Minnesota. Russell has a 146.9 QB rating through two weeks and has thrown for 597 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. The consistency that Russ brings each week, combined with the matchup and potential low ownership, provides the leverage you need to take down a tournament in Week 3.

Running Backs

Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans

$8,600 DRAFTKINGS
$9,700 FANDUEL

Henry exploded in Week 2 with a monster stat line, which carried fantasy owners. Henry rushed for 182 yards, 3 touchdowns, and caught 6 passes for 55 yards in a comeback victory versus Seattle. As much as I like him this week, I am not expecting a repeat performance from last week. I’m expecting a three-down back with a heavy workload in a game, where Tennessee should be pounding the rock often versus a backup quarterback in Indianapolis. With question marks surrounding the rest of the high-end running backs, Henry is the safe play for cash, if you can afford him. But keep an eye out on the injury report as we have several questionable running backs, which could open up value at the position.

Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers

$6,600 DRAFTKINGS
$7,500 FANDUEL

I’m going back to the well here with Harris in Week 3. The matchup combined with the price tag is too good to pass up. I know there is a lot of chatter surrounding Clyde Edwards-Helaire and his price tag, but I don’t see a reason to play a highly owned running back who falls short week after week. Harris and the Steelers offense as a whole have disappointed for the most part, but this matchup should provide Najee some breakout potential. Harris is more of a tournament play for me, and I am hoping some value opens from now until Sunday. Austin Ekeler is also in play,  and if no value opens up, I will split my exposure to both Ekeler and Harris.

Wide receivers

DK Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks

$7,300 DRAFTKINGS
$7,200 FANDUEL

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and it’s about time for the monster Metcalf game. We played this round-robin game last year between Lockett and Metcalf. After every great game from Lockett, the odds keep swinging back in favor for Metcalf. I don’t dislike Lockett at all, and I will have rosters with Wilson stacked with both Lockett and Metcalf. The targets are split down the middle with each of the receivers totaling 16 through two games, but it just happens to have paid greater dividends so far for Lockett. As I noted above, the matchup is great and arguably the best on the board, so load up on both of these receivers and feel free to game stack this entire game in tournaments. If you need to pivot down, both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are in a great spot if Antonio Brown is out this week.

K.J. Osborn, Minnesota Vikings

$3,500 DRAFTKINGS
$5,100 FANDUEL

With all the high-end players we want in our lineup, Osborn sticks out as a value play in a great game environment. I’m shocked that neither site has raised his price after great performances in consecutive weeks. Osborn has been targeted 15 times through two games and caught 12 passes for 167 yards and 1 touchdown. As we have seen through the first two games, this Seattle defense has major holes, and no lead is safe. This should be a back-and-forth affair with Minnesota most likely trailing, which should be a nice boost for Osborn and the Vikings. If you have the salary, feel free to load up on some shares of Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson in game stacks as well.

Tight ends

Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs

$8,200 DRAFTKINGS
$8,500 FANDUEL

Fade Kelce if you have the courage. Kelce has started the season with two 25-plus-point performances on DraftKings. You would have to go way back in the game logs to find the last time Kelce had a game under 20 points. The Chargers secondary slowed down the Dallas Cowboys, but the Kansas City offense is levels above the Chargers’. Kelce is the alpha dog, and he is the first option Mahomes looks to no matter where Kansas City is on the field. Combine that with a 55-point over/under, and we should expect another 100-yard, 20-point performance in Week 3. Lock him up in cash and be confident that you can find value plays in tournaments to pay up for the best tight end in the game.

Rob Gronkowski, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

$5,500 DRAFTKINGS
$5,500 FANDUEL

With Antonio Brown on COVID-19 reserve, feel free to load up Gronk shares. There will be some regression coming with Gronk’s touchdown output, but at $5,500 on DraftKings and an average of 24.5 points per game, he is looking really good in a game with a total of 55.5 points. If Gronk can find ways in back-to-back weeks with Brown on the field, you can surely expect another big week with Brown presumably off the field. Between the three stud pass catching options in Tampa, I think Gronkowski finds his way to lower ownership than Godwin and Evans. I will be buying shares in both tournaments and in cash games.

NFLSU Week Two: Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase playing like they never left the Bayou

NFLSU’s week two action. Which former LSU Tigers stood out in the NFL.

Week two in the NFL is now in the rearview mirror. Plenty of former LSU Tigers were in action over the three days. Two of them keep playing like they never left Death Valley. Joe Burrow found Ja’Marr Chase on another long pass for a touchdown. Chase forcing two Chicago Bears defenders to collide, allowing for the easy touchdown reception.

While the game was essentially over at that point, it was still fun to see the duo connecting for the score. We should expect plenty more touchdown connections between the two for the upcoming season and beyond. Burrow had three interceptions up until that point in the game, so it wasn’t all positive for the former Heisman Trophy winner.

One of their teammates from the national championship team Justin Jefferson got to throw down another ‘griddy’ dance in the Minnesota Vikings game with the Arizona Cardinals.

A full look at each former LSU Tiger at a skill position in this week’s NFL action. Which former Bayou Bengal stood out the most?

Vikings vs Cardinals: 4 offensive adjustments for Minnesota this week

Here are four offensive adjustments the Vikings can make in Week 2:

In Week 1, the Vikings were mostly let down by a lackluster performance on defense.

But the offense did its share in the loss as well. Minnesota committed costly penalties en route to an upset loss on Sunday. Now, the Vikings have to assess what happened and try to defeat a talented Cardinals team in Week 2.

It may help to make some adjustments on offense. Here is a list of possible changes the team can make:

The Vikings not expected to play vs. the Colts

See which members of the Vikings are not expected to play against the Colts tonight.

The Vikings rested most of their more notable players against the Broncos in the season opener. While it appears that more Minnesota starters will be ready for the game against the Colts on Saturday, there are still a few key players who will be missing from action.

Here is a full list of the Vikings players who are not expected to go against Indianapolis:

Former Tigers WR Justin Jefferson work on the Griddy with a new friend

Former LSU WR Justin Jefferson gets help from Cinnamon Toast Crunch in adding some moves to the Griddy.

Last season the Minnesota Vikings got introduced to Justin Jefferson and the Griddy dance. The former LSU Tiger took the league by storm as he finished fourth in the NFL with 1,400 receiving yards. After scoring his first touchdown against the Tennessee Titans, he dropped his Griddy dance prior to getting into the endzone.

For his performance, Jefferson’s peers voted him among the NFL’s top 100 players at No. 53 overall. Now you get to see him working on some new moves added to his celebration dance with some help from a new friend. Jefferson’s favorite cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch partnered with him with the Cinnamoji.

The Cinnamoji might need to brush up on his cover skills while trying to keep up with last season’s top rookie wide receiver.

Even some of his teammates in Minnesota are getting into the act of performing the ‘Griddy.’

Jefferson is poised to repeat last season with the Vikings. He finished the rookie campaign with 88 receptions, 1,400 yards, and seven touchdowns. This coming off the monster 2019 junior season with the LSU Tigers. That year he racked up 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns as he helped hoist the CFP national championship trophy.

That season his biggest game came against the Oklahoma Sooners as he hauled in 14 receptions for 227 yards and four scores.

Fueling up with Cinnamon Toast Crunch while help him reach greater heights in 2021.

Justin Jefferson wants Jalen Ramsey ‘that game is circled’

Former Tigers WR Justin Jefferson is eyeing a matchup with Jalen Ramsey in 2021.

Last season Justin Jefferson proved his worth as a first-round draft selection with the Minnesota Vikings. As the No. 18 selection, the rookie receiver would prove his mettle as he was among the top four in yards with 1,400. In terms of wide receivers, only Stefon Diggs and DeAndre Hopkins finished ahead of him.

Recently Touchdown Wire ranked Jefferson among the top wide receivers. He also made their list for the top 101 players in all of the NFL.

Jefferson had a huge rookie season, catching 88 passes for 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns. Those receiving yards set a record for rookie WRs, and he was also named to a Pro Bowl for his efforts. As you’ll see in these videos, Jefferson is already among the game’s best thanks to his combination of footwork, releases and concentration.

He was ranked No. 70 overall by our colleagues. Going into year two, he is using his doubters as fuel to be even better in his sophomore campaign with the Vikings. The love for the former LSU Tiger didn’t stop there, NFL Network’s top 100 put him in at No. 53.

So what is next on the mind of the former Tiger that put up 2,415 yards and 24 touchdowns? Jefferson is looking at his week 16 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams and Jalen Ramsey.

Setting an NFL record for most receiving yards in a rookie campaign wasn’t enough for Jefferson, now he has his eyes set on proving his worth against one of the top cornerbacks in the game.

Where Joe Burrow, other former Tigers rank for fantasy football

A look at where former LSU Tigers line up for the upcoming season in fantasy football rankings.

With the NFL season fast approaching, many fans are gearing up for their fantasy football drafts. There are plenty of former LSU Tigers to choose from when making up your rosters. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase could be on that list for you. So where does the quarterback fall in the fantasy football rankings?

Joe Burrow falls into tier 2, top-tier upside quarterbacks. He joins Russell Wilson, Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts, and Aaron Rodgers according to the rankings from Pro Football Focus.

It’s been a rough start for Joe Burrow at training camp, with the Bengals quarterback describing his summer struggles as “mental” more than physical. But that’s to be somewhat expected for a quarterback coming off major knee surgery just nine months ago.

n 10 full games as a rookie last year, Burrow finished third in expected fantasy points per game (23.0) behind only Dak Prescott and Josh Allen. And that’s because Burrow led the league in passing attempts per game (40.4).

This offense has so much potential to light the fantasy football world ablaze with Burrow at the helm, so be aggressive buying the dip on the Bengals QB that will follow the reports from camp. – Andrew Erickson, PFF

One aspect that likely helps the former Tigers quarterback is having his favorite target Ja’Marr Chase on the outside for Burrow in 2021. After sitting out the 2020 college football season, Chase will be back to catching passes from his Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback. The duo set records at LSU during the 2019 run to the CFP national championship.

Report: Vikings WR Justin Jefferson’s Friday injury is ‘nothing serious’

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Vikings WR Justin Jefferson’s injury is nothing serious.

Justin Jefferson gave Vikings fans a scare when he landed on his shoulder in training camp, which led to him leaving practice Friday.

However, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jefferson’s injury is nothing serious. Schefter reported that the Vikings wideout has a sprained AC joint, but there will be further testing this weekend.

If the injury ends up being more than that, it could spell trouble for the Vikings. Minnesota is thin at wide receiver, even with the acquisition of Dede Westbrook. The Vikings need to make sure Jefferson and Adam Thielen stay relatively this year. Or else, the wide receiver corps will regress.

Minnesota would be forced to rely on Thielen, Westbrook, Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Chad Beebe in a situation where Jefferson was absent. The Vikings wide receiver room already took a blow this offseason when Bisi Johnson tore his ACL.

Jefferson is coming off a season where he had 1400 receiving yards and seven touchdown receptions as a rookie.

Projecting the Vikings starting offense amid training camp

Here is how the Minnesota Vikings could line up on offense next season:

Minnesota is coming off a successful year on offense in 2020. The main problem this past season was the defense and special teams not being able to keep the team in games. That made the Vikings miss out on the playoffs after making the postseason in 2019.

Despite minimal additions, the Minnesota offense could still be very good in 2021. The Vikings signed wide receiver Dede Westbrook late in free agency this year. If some rookie offensive linemen pan out right away, Minnesota could be looking at a bounce-back 2021 season.

From the offensive line to the wide receiver corps, here is how the team could line up:

ESPN lists a stat to know for the Vikings

Here is a stat that ESPN wants you to know about the Vikings.

The Vikings disappointed in 2020, failing to make the playoffs after a postseason win during the 2019 season.

Minnesota did have some positive takeaways from the year, though. Arguably the most positive of all: The Vikings replaced Stefon Diggs with a stellar wide receiver.

Seth Walder of ESPN listed a stat to know for the Vikings, and the stat was related to Jefferson. Walder wrote:

“As a rookie, Justin Jefferson ranked second among wide receivers in completed air yards over expectation and yards after catch over expectation, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. He was a home run pick that should pay off for years to come.”

Jefferson and Adam Thielen are the new wide receiver duo in Minnesota. It’s not often you can trade a player as good as Diggs and get similar production from an NFL draft pick. But the Vikings did that.

The team also needs to hit on another first-round pick in 2021: Christian Darrisaw. A stellar year from Darrisaw could lift the Minnesota offense. With the defense revamped, the team could be a tough out in 2021.
