Giants rule 3 out, list Saquon Barkley as questionable vs. Eagles

The New York Giants have ruled three players out and listed DL Leonard Williams as doubtful and RB Saquon Barkley as questionable.

The New York Giants will host the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon and will do so down several key players.

There’s also a chance the Giants could be without several additional players who showed up on the injury report this week, including running back Saquon Barkley and defensive lineman Leonard Williams.

Wide receiver Marcus Johnson did not practice on Friday due to an illness.

Full injury reports for both the Giants and Eagles can be found below:

Giants injury report: Saquon Barkley limited in practice

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was added to the injury report on Thursday after being limited with a neck issue.

The New York Giants were back on the practice field Thursday and they saw the return of several players who had received veteran rest a day earlier.

Nose tackle Dexter Lawrence, guard Mark Glowinski and safety Julian Love were all full participants in practice.

The news wasn’t nearly as positive for safety Xavier McKinney, who remains on NFI. Head coach Brian Daboll said the captain had pins removed from his hand but didn’t sound optimistic about a 2022 return.

Meanwhile, defensive lineman Leonard Williams and cornerback Adoree’ Jackson remained sidelined. Running back Saquon Barkley was limited with a neck injury.

The Giants’ Thursday injury report can be found below:

Did not participate: OL Joshua Ezeudu (neck), CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee), OL Shane Lemieux (toe), DE Leonard Williams (neck)

Limited participant: CB Darnay Holmes (shoulder), WR Richie James Jr. (knee), DB Nick McCloud (hamstring), DL Henry Mondeaux (knee)

Full participant: WR Kenny Golladay (illness), OL Mark Glowinski (rest), NT Dexter Lawrence (rest), S Julian Love (rest)

Giants injury report: 7 players do not practice, 4 limited

7 members of the New York Giants missed practice on Wednesday (some for rest), and 4 others were limited. Kenny Golladay returned.

The New York Giants returned to the practice field on Wednesday in preparation for a Week 14 game against the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

All eyes were on the walking wounded but the team didn’t offer good news in that regard. Safety Xavier McKinney is “doubtful” to return in time and questions remain about cornerback Adoree’ Jackson and defensive lineman Leonard Williams.

However, a few are trending in the right direction.

The Giants’ Wednesday injury report can be found below:

Did not participate: OL Joshua Ezeudu (neck), CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee), OL Shane Lemieux (toe), DE Leonard Williams (neck), OL Mark Glowinski (rest), NT Dexter Lawrence (rest), S Julian Love (rest)

Giants rule 3 out, 11 questionable vs. Commanders

The New York Giants list three out and 11 questionable, including WR Darius Slayton, against the Washington Commanders in Week 13.

The New York Giants will host the Washington Commanders at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon and will do so with several key players expected to return.

The Giants won’t be a full strength but will be closer than they’ve been in weeks. The Commanders, meanwhile, are a bit banged up and will play a few starters short.

Full injury reports for both the Giants and Commanders can be found below:

Giants injury report: Darius Slayton comes down with illness

New York Giants WR Darius Slayton was a projected non-participant in practice on Thursday after coming down with an illness.

The New York Giants did not practice on Thursday after giving the players a day off. The schedule change comes as the result of a Thanksgiving Day game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12.

On Friday, the team will return to their normal regular season schedule and conduct their final practice ahead of Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders.

The Giants did reveal that cornerback Cor’Dale Flott has cleared concussion protocol, but wide receiver Darius Slayton now has an illness.

The Giants’ (projected) Thursday injury report can be found below:

Did not participate: OL Joshua Ezeudu (neck), CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee), OL Shane Lemieux (toe), WR Darius Slayton (illness)

Giants injury report: Gary Brightwell, Richie James sit out practice

The New York Giants are trending in a more healthy direction but still saw two additions to their injury report on Wednesday.

The New York Giants returned to the practice field on Wednesday after going with full pads on Tuesday. And for the second straight day, offensive linemen Shane Lemieux and Joshua Ezeudu were not practicing. They were joined on the side by cornerback Adoree’ Jackson.

Return specialists Gary Brightwell and Richie James were also added to the injury report.

That’s the bad news.

The good news is that linebacker Azeez Ojulari, right tackle Evan Neal, tight end Daniel Bellinger and several others are all trending in the right direction. In fact, the Giants could see the return of between five and seven starters in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders.

The Giants’ Wednesday injury report can be found below:

Did not participate: OL Joshua Ezeudu (neck), CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee), OL Shane Lemieux (toe), RB Gary Brightwell (illness), WR Richie James (knee)

Limited participant: TE Daniel Bellinger (eye), S Dane Belton (clavicle), LB Carter Coughlin (thigh), OL Jon Feliciano (neck), CB Cor’Dale Flott (concussion), CB Darnay Holmes (shoulder), DL Leonard Williams (neck), CB Fabian Moreau (oblique), OL Evan Neal (knee), OL Tyre Phillips (knee)

Giants injury report: Adoree’ Jackson, Daniel Bellinger out vs. Dallas

The New York Giants have officially ruled out CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee) and TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) against the Dallas Cowboys.

The New York Giants were back on the practice field Tuesday, conducting a final walkthrough before heading to Arlington for a Thanksgiving Day showdown with the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday.

Head coach Brian Daboll revealed that cornerback Adoree’ Jackson, who suffered a sprained MCL in Week 11, and tight end Daniel Bellinger (eye) would not make the trip. Both have been ruled out.

Linebacker Azeez Ojulari will also remain on IR through the Week 12 game.

As far as the remaining injured players, decisions on their status will not come until Wednesday. But the good news is that Daboll was optimistic on some, including wide receiver Richie James.

The Giants’ projected Tuesday injury report can be found below:

Did not participate: TE Daniel Bellinger (eye), OL Joshua Ezeudu (neck), OL Jon Feliciano (neck), CB Adoree’ Jackson (knee), CB Fabian Moreau (oblique), OL Andrew Thomas (illness), OL Shane Lemieux (toe)

Report: Giants will activate, start Shane Lemieux vs. Lions

The New York Giants will activate OL Shane Lemieux (toe) from injured reserve and start him against the Detroit Lions in Week 11.

The New York Giants intend to activate guard Shane Lemieux from injured reserve prior to Saturday’s 4:00 p.m. ET deadline. He is also expected to start in place of rookie Joshua Ezeudu, who is dealing with a neck injury.

Lemieux has missed the team’s first nine game after undergoing surgery to repair an injured toe during the preseason.

Lemieux also missed most of the 2021 season due to a partially torn patellar tendon, and has taken just 17 offensive snaps since 2020.

“It’s been a hard couple years,” Lemieux said this week, via the New York Post. “I’m a ballplayer. I love football. Being on the field is the best feeling in the world. When you get taken away from the game, you realize how important it is to you. I’m ready to get back out there, for sure.”

When Lemieux takes the field on Sunday, he will do so 15 pounds heavier than when he last played. He shot up from 295 to 310, which is where he intends to stay this season.

“I’m naturally a skinny guy,” Lemieux said. “Anything I could to keep my weight up. I needed all the extra calories I could get.”

Lemieux also expects to be a smarter player when he returns to the field against the Detroit Lions.

“I’m just more confident,” he said. “All the time on IR, I’ve game-planned like I’m playing the game. That’s really just mentally put me in a spot where I’m more mature and have a better football IQ than I did my rookie year.”

In addition to Ezeudu, who is questionable, rookie right tackle Evan Neal (knee) has been ruled out in Week 11.
