UFC heavyweights Josh Parisian and Chase Sherman will clash in November.

Heavyweights [autotag]Josh Parisian[/autotag] and [autotag]Chase Sherman[/autotag] will clash in November.

Parisian (15-5 MMA, 2-2 UFC) faces Sherman (16-10 MMA, 4-9 UFC) at a UFC Fight Night event on Nov. 5, which takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Two people with knowledge of the booking informed MMA Junkie of the matchup Monday but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Parisian has split his first four UFC appearances. The Dana White’s Contender Series graduate got back in the win column when he stopped Alan Baudot by second-round TKO at UFC on ESPN 38 in June. The finish earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.

Meanwhile, Sherman notched a much-needed victory when he scored a bonus-winning TKO of Jared Vanderaa at UFC on ESPN 39 in July. The win snapped his four-fight losing skid.

With the addition, the Nov. 5 UFC Fight Night lineup includes:

  • Bryce Mitchell vs. Movsar Evloev
  • Darrick Minner vs. Shayilan Nuerdanbieke
  • Amanda Lemos vs. Marina Rodriguez
  • Mario Bautista vs. Benito Lopez
  • Nate Maness vs. Tagir Ulanbekov

UFC on ESPN 38 bonuses: Five total fighters earn extra $50,000

Check out who all earned a bonus for their performance at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS – After a fun slate of 12 fights, the UFC once again strayed away from the norm and issued bonuses to a total of five fighters.

The main event of UFC on ESPN 38 was a hard-fought 25-minute battle between Mateusz Gamrot and Arman Tsarukyan. Both lightweight contenders competed in the first main event of their UFC careers, and their performances showed as they both wanted to make a statement. It was a high-paced, all-action bout that pushed the limits of both fighters. When it was all said and done, Gamrot earned the unanimous decision nod from the judges. For their efforts though, both men take home an extra paycheck for the Fight of the Night.

The promotion issued three Performance of the Night bonuses in addition to the FOTN. Check out who all earned the $50,000 award below.

UFC on ESPN 25 medical suspensions: Chan Sung Jung among seven facing six months

Seven fighters, including headliner Chan Sung Jung, are facing up to six months off after UFC on ESPN 25.

[autotag]Chan Sung Jung[/autotag] is back in the win column but could be sidelined for up to six months after UFC on ESPN 25.

Jung defeated Dan Ige in a back-and-forth battle in the main event, but he needs his left shoulder checked out after he dislocated it in the fight.

On Tuesday, MMA Junkie acquired the full list of UFC on ESPN 25 medical suspensions handed out by the Nevada Athletic Commission from MixedMartialArts.com, the Association of Boxing Commission’s official record keeper.

Also suffering an arm injury in her fight was [autotag]Kanako Murata[/autotag], who was stopped by Virna Jandiroba in the second round. Murata’s elbow was dislocated in the first round after Jandiroba secured a deep armbar, but she refused to tap and fought the entire second round with a compromised arm. The cageside doctor eventually decided to stop the fight after Round 2 after seeing the condition of her arm.

[autotag]Davey Grant[/autotag], who was defeated by Marlon Vera in a “Fight of the Night” effort, also is potentially facing a 180-day term. Grant must have his nasal bone fracture cleared by a doctor before he can return to competition.

Rounding off the six-month suspension list is [autotag]Dhiego Lima[/autotag], who needs an MRI on his right knee; [autotag]Matthew Semelsberger[/autotag], who needs an X-ray on his nose; [autotag]Josh Parisian[/autotag], who needs his nasal fracture cleared; and [autotag]Casey O’Neill[/autotag], who needs an X-ray on her left hand.

The full list of UFC on ESPN 25 medical suspensions can be seen below.

UFC on ESPN 18 medical suspensions: Seven face potential 180-day terms due to bone breaks

Seven fighters could be out six months due to injuries sustained during their fights.

Seven fighters face six-month suspensions as a result of their respective UFC on ESPN 18 fights – but headliners [autotag]Anthony Smith[/autotag] and [autotag]Devin Clark[/autotag] walked away unscathed.

Neither the winner, Smith, nor the loser, Clark, received a medical suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission medical staff.

On Tuesday, MMA Junkie obtained the full list of medical suspensions from MixedMartialArts.com for UFC on ESPN 18, which took place this past Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Fighters can return to action sooner than their suspensions indicate should they receive medical clearance from a doctor.

Among the pack of those suspended, co-main event participant [autotag]Takashi Sato[/autotag] was given a 180-day term for a potentially fractured left orbital in his loss to [autotag]Miguel Baeza[/autotag].

[autotag]Ashlee Evans-Smith[/autotag] (left hand), [autotag]Jonathan Pearce[/autotag] (right foot), and [autotag]Rachael Ostovich[/autotag] (right hand) also were handed the same 180-day suspensions.

Parker Porter vs. Josh Parisian added to UFC’s Nov. 28 fight card

A heavyweight matchup between Parker Porter and Josh Parisian is the latest addition to the UFC’s Nov. 28 lineup.

A heavyweight matchup is the latest addition to the UFC’s Nov. 28 lineup.

The UFC has added [autotag]Parker Porter[/autotag] (10-6 MMA, 0-1 UFC) vs. [autotag]Josh Parisian[/autotag] (13-3) to the lineup for the event. No location or name designation has been announced for the event at this time.

MMA Junkie confirmed the booking with two people with knowledge of the situation. The people requested anonymity because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Porter, a CES MMA and Bellator veteran, was stopped by Chris Daukaus in his UFC debut last week. Winner of two of his past three, eight of Porter’s 10 career wins have come via stoppage.

The third time was the charm for “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 28 alum Parisian, who finally earned a UFC contract when he took out Chad Johnson in Round 1 at Dana White’s Contender Series 29 earlier this week. It was his second stint at DWCS, and this time a win secured him a contract.

With the addition, the latest Nov. 28 lineup includes:

  • Curtis Blaydes vs. Derrick Lewis
  • Norma Dumont vs. Ashlee Evans-Smith
  • Josh Parisian vs. Parker Porter

Despite another DWCS finish, Josh Parisian wasn’t sure he’d get UFC contract

The third time was the charm for Josh Parisian, who’s had a long road to the UFC.

LAS VEGAS – The third time was the charm for [autotag]Josh Parisian[/autotag], who’s had a long road to the UFC.

Parisian (13-3), who fought on Season 28 of “The Ultimate Fighter,”, already competed once before on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018. Despite a first-round stoppage win over Greg Rebello, he failed to earn a UFC contract.

More than two years later, Parisian got another shot. This time, his first-round finish over Chad Johnson at Dana White’s Contender Series 29 on Tuesday was enough to punch his ticket to the UFC.

It took three tries for Parisian, who never gave up.

“It almost felt like it was never going to happen,” Parisian told reporters, including MMA Junkie, after his win at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. “But I just persevered, keep pushing forward, and just not taking no for an answer.”

While a quick finish almost always guarantees a UFC contract, it was an all-too-familiar situation for Parisian, who had his doubts despite the impressive showing.

“100 percent – I was almost telling myself I almost could bet I’m not getting a contract tonight. I can almost guarantee it,” Parisian said.

“It’s incredible, but at the same time I feel like it’s almost too overwhelming to really take in right now. I know I’ll probably wake up tomorrow and be like, ‘Oh my God.'”

TUF alumnus Josh Parisian gets second DWCS opportunity, will fight Chad Johnson on Aug. 18

Dana White’s Contender Series is back – and so is Josh Parisian.

Dana White’s Contender Series is back – and so is [autotag]Josh Parisian[/autotag].

A one-time DWCS competitor and an alumnus of “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 28, Parisian (12-3 MMA) will return to UFC programming when he takes on [autotag]Chad Johnson[/autotag] on Aug. 18. The event is expected to be the third episode of DWCS, Season 4, and will be held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie on Sunday, after an Instagram post by Parisian. The person asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

On DWCS, Season 2 in June 2018, Parisian took a short-notice fight against CES MMA heavyweight champion Greg Rebello. Despite being a moderate underdog in the books, Parisian finished Rebello with a spinning backfist and punches in 91 seconds.

The flashy finished didn’t earn Parisian a UFC bid. However, UFC president Dana White offered Parisian a shot on “The Ultimate Fighter” instead. Parisian was eliminated by Michel Batista in the opening round of the tournament.

Since that time, Parisian has won five of six. He’s currently riding a five-fight TKO streak.

As for Johnson (6-1 MMA), the LFA alumnus is known for his punching power and ability to end fights quickly. In six professional fights, Johnson has only reached the second round once.

To stay up to date with all of the DWCS happenings, check out MMA Junkie’s “Dana White’s Contender Series: Your complete guide to Season 4” which will be frequently updated as news comes to light.
