Will Hailee Steinfeld be at Josh Allen’s game for Bills-Rams on Sunday?

Will we see Josh Allen’s fiancée on Sunday?

Taylor Swift isn’t the only famous significant other of an NFL player.

Actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld is dating Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen — and now they’re engaged!! — and even though we’ve seen only glimpses of the pair together, they’re a couple. And earlier in 2024, we saw Steinfeld cheer on Allen during a Monday night game.

Which brings us to this question: will she attend Sunday’s Bills game against the Los Angeles Rams?

It’s a road game, for what it’s worth, so that may not help. So maybe she won’t attend? We’ve seen no indication either way. But here’s Allen talking about his engagement recently.

We’ll see!

Causes for concern as the Bills face the Rams in Week 14

Causes for concern as the Bills face the Rams in Week 14

The Buffalo Bills will travel across the country to take on the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Week 14.

The Bills (10-2) and Rams (6-6) are both playing good football as of late. The Bills are riding a seven-game win streak while the Rams have won five of their last seven.

Even though Buffalo is favored to win the game, there are always a few things that make winning difficult each week. The Bills will need to be wary of them.

Here are three causes for concern for the Bills against the Rams in Week 14:

Matt Stafford is on a heater

Imagn Images

The Rams have recovered from their 1-4 start to the season in large part because quarterback Matt Stafford has been playing better as of late. The offense has bounced back in a big way.

Over the last six games, Stafford has thrown for 14 touchdowns while throwing just three interceptions. He’s averaging over 265 pass yards per game over that stretch.

Now, the Rams are back in the mix for the NFC West title and they are playing at home with a ton to prove. This is a team better than its 6-6 record.

Elite skill players to keep tabs on

USA TODAY Sports

Another major reason for the Los Angeles offense’s turnaround this year is that Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are now both healthy after missing a large portion of time at the beginning of the year.

Stafford now has one of the league’s best wide receiver tandems ready to roll and they have provided a big boost. Since Week 8, Stafford has the third-most completions of 10+ yards in the NFL.

It’s not just the elite weapons in the passing game that the Bills have to watch out for. Kyren Williams can get cooking in the running game as well. They don’t run it a whole lot, but he is more than capable of impacting a game. Over the past four outings, he has averaged over 5.3 yards per carry.

Sean McVay and Matt Stafford have a trio of high-level skill players that can hurt the Bills in a blink if they’re not careful.

Rams have their backs against the wall

Imagn Images

The Rams are remarkably still in the mix to win the NFC West after starting the year 1-4. Still, they have an uphill climb to make the playoffs. They currently have a 23% chance of making the postseason.

They still have three divisional games remaining, including a trip to San Francisco next week. If they want to make a run this year, stacking a win before their end-of-the-season NFC West gauntlet would be huge to have in their back pocket.

This is one of just three remaining home games for the Rams, and coach McVay will be trying to pull all the levers to give his team a chance at the postseason. The Bills are in a race of their own trying to reach the one-seed in the AFC, but they are nowhere near as desperate as the Rams to get a win at this point.

Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld share details of Bills QB’s surprise proposal

We finally have details about the engagement!

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and pop icon Hailee Steinfeld are pulling back the curtain on their engagement in the latest edition of Steinfeld’s Beau Society newsletter.

The pair made their November 22 engagement Instagram official last week, but details about the day have been hard to come by.

Now we’ve finally got a glimpse at how it all went down.

“The funniest thing was that we woke up and were getting ready for brunch and you jumped on the bed and said, ‘Can we get married already?!? What are you waiting for??!’” Allen said. “I replied, ‘Just give me a little more time.’ Little did you know I was about to propose to you…”

Here are some of the other key details per E Online:

“I think I was most nervous about you finding out about the proposal,” the 28-year-old explained. “It was hard to keep secrets from you and have other people in your life keep secrets from you. Multiple times throughout the day, a song would come on and I would tear up thinking about how special our day was going to be.”

As for what he said while down on one knee? “I said I couldn’t wait any longer,” he shared. “I said I can’t wait to start a family with you. I said your full name, and I asked you very nicely. I said please.”

Steinfeld said she blacked out during the moment, but Allen — who was admittedly nervous for the big day — was able to fill her in, noting she was “extremely surprised” and that she did, in fact, say “yes”.

“That was all that mattered to me,” Allen recalled. “And the sun was out.”

Steinfeld promised to share more about the day at a later time while Allen seemed thrilled he was able to pull the whole thing off.
“I think I was most nervous about you finding out about the proposal. It was hard to keep secrets from you and have other people in your life keep secrets from you. Then multiple times throughout the day a song would come on and I would tear up thinking about how special our day was going to be.”

3 keys to a Bills victory vs. the Rams in Week 14

3 keys to a Bills victory vs. the Rams in Week 14

The Buffalo Bills will play the Los Angeles Rams on the road at SoFi Stadium in Week 14.

The Bills (10-2) are looking to build on a seven-game win streak, while the Rams (6-6) have won five of their last seven after starting 1-4.

Buffalo opened as 4.5-point favorites on the road. The two teams haven’t met since the season opener in 2022 when the Bills beat the Super Bowl-defending Rams, 31-10.

Even though the Bills are favored, the Rams are one of the hotter teams in the NFL and are in a competitive race for the NFC West crown.

Buffalo  will need to execute their game plan to pick up their eleventh win of the year.

With that, here are three keys to a Bills win in Week 14:

Make them stop the run

Getty Images

Last week, the Bills spammed the running game against the 49ers and it resulted in 220 rushing yards and 35 points on the board. It will be difficult to repeat that success again this week, but the Rams have shown they can be hurt on the ground.

Two weeks ago, the Philadelphia Eagles’ Saquon Barkley did whatever he pleased against them. He ran for 255 yards and two scores on 26 carries. And last week, the Saints’ Alvin Kamara put up 112 rushing yards on 23 carries.

The Bills are at their best when they are a threat both on the ground and through the air. With this game being played in a dome (SoFi Stadium), many will be looking for Josh Allen to put up numbers in the passing game after only 148 pass yards in last week’s snow game. But if the Bills are wise, they won’t abandon the run and they’ll make the Rams have to defend in the trenches on defense.

Contain Rams pass rush

Imagn Images

Despite the loss of Aaron Donald, the young defenders on the defensive line for the Rams have done a solid job in keeping their pass rush competitive. They have four d-linemen with at least 4.5 sacks: Jared Verse (4.5), Kobie Turner (5), Byron Young (6), Braden Fiske (6).

More specifically, Verse has shown improvement this year. According to Pro Football Focus, he is the 12th-most productive pass-rushing edge defender with a pass-rush grade of 82.4.

The Bills haven’t allowed a sack in either of their last two games against the Chiefs and 49ers. That was a big reason they were able to put up 30+ points against both Super Bowl representatives from last year. If the Bills offensive line continues its high level of play, Allen could be in for a big day.

Limit explosives from McVay’s offense

Imagn Images

It’s no secret that the Rams offense has the potential to go toe-to-toe with anyone on any given Sunday. Led by offensive-minded head coach Sean McVay, quarterback Matt Stafford has a few premiere weapons to spread the ball around to.

Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp are one of the league’s best wide receiver duos, so the Bills’ secondary will have their hands full. The duo both found the field healthy together for the first time in Week 8 after missing much of the season.

Stafford has thrown for eight touchdowns on downfield passes (10+ yards) since Week 8, which is the third-most in the NFL in the span, and he has averaged 11.3 yards per attempt on those throws. The entire team has been lifted since Kupp and Nacua became healthy.

The running game was also effective for them last week as Kyren Williams ran for 104 yards and a touchdown on 6.9 yards per carry. The offense can beat you in many ways much like the Bills’ offense. It will be another test for Sean McDermott, Bobby Babich, and the Bills defense to limit their explosive plays and keep them in check.

Bills at Rams: 3 key matchups to watch in Week 14

Bills at Rams: 3 key matchups to watch in Week 14

The Buffalo Bills will travel across the country to face the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Week 14.

For this cross-conference battle between Sean McDermott’s Bills (10-2) and Sean McVay’s Rams (6-6), it will be the games, within the game, that will make all the difference.

Here are three key matchups to watch during Sunday’s Bills-Rams contest:

CB Taron Johnson vs. WR Cooper Kupp

USA TODAY Sports

The battle in the slot will feature All-Pro caliber players who have been around the NFL for a while. Taron Johnson is in his eighth year and is coming off of his first-career All-Pro selection last year (second-team). Cooper Kupp is in his ninth year and has an All-Pro selection under his belt as well (first-team in 2021).

Kupp continues to see the majority of his snaps in the slot. According to Pro Football Focus, Kupp has seen 278 slot snaps and 151 wide snaps this year.

Johnson will have his hands full. Not only is Kupp still a reliable route runner and pass catcher, but he has the ultimate trust and chemistry with quarterback Matt Stafford. The two won a Super Bowl together in 2022 and connected for the go-ahead touchdown in that game. A few wins from either side of this matchup could make a big difference.

Bills offensive line vs. Rams defensive line

USA TODAY Sports

Both the Bills offensive line and the Rams defensive line have had outstanding seasons to this point. Both have outperformed their expectations this year.

Heading into Week 14, both the Bills O-line and Rams D-line rank as the sixth-best unit on their respective side of the ball according to PFF.

Los Angeles has posted the league’s best quarterback pressure rate (39.8%) according to Next Gen Stats. Buffalo, on the other hand, has allowed the league’s fewest sacks this year (13), including zero over their last two games.

Something has to give. The battle in the trenches when the Bills have the ball will be one of the better matchups around the NFL and will play a big role in the outcome of the game.

RB James Cook vs. Rams front-seven

USA TODAY Network via Imagn Images

If the Bills can get running back James Cook rolling on the ground like they did last week (107 yards on 7.6 yards per carry), then it will keep the Rams’ impressive pass rush honest. And, although the Rams can get after the quarterback, they have their holes in the run game.

They rank 21st in the NFL in defense rushing DVOA, while ranking 22nd in EPA/rush. On top of that, they allow the fifth-most yards after contact per rush (3.25), according to Next Gen Stats.

Buffalo and offensive coordinator Joe Brady have found a lot of success on the ground this year (4th in rush DVOA). If they can get going once again, it will be worrisome for Los Angeles.

Bills locker room reacts to Micah Hyde news: ‘Like he never left’

Bills locker room reacts to Micah Hyde news: ‘Like he never left’

Were you surprised that Micah Hyde re-signed with the Buffalo Bills once again?

You’re not alone, even when factoring in those who will now share a locker room with him in Orchard Park.

The Bills (10-2) announced that Hyde had signed with the team for the remainder of the 2024 season on Wednesday. That news comes ahead of Buffalo’s Week 14 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams (6-6).

It’s unclear exactly what the 33-year-old will bring to the table in terms of playing time, but his veteran leadership behind the scenes factored into the decision to bring him back, per head coach Sean McDermott.

But it appears that plan was never really explained to the Bills locker room.

After Hyde’s first practice back in Buffalo, teammates were asked about him returning. Many were happy to see him and just as surprised as the rest of us that Hyde is back on the roster.

“I thought he was just here for a visit,” offensive lineman Spencer Brown said. “Then later in the day someone said he was practicing and I was like, ‘oh, he’s on the team? Awesome.'”

“He’s really good people,” defensive end Greg Rousseau said. “It felt like he never left.”

A roundup of reaction from the Bills locker room can be found below:

One more time: Bills’ Sean McDermott, Josh Allen make snow angels on ESPN

One more time: Bills’ Sean McDermott, Josh Allen make snow angels on ESPN

The Buffalo Bills had more fun in the snow than the San Francisco 49ers at Highmark Stadium during their Week 13 matchup.

Sean McDermott and Josh Allen put that on full display after the final whistle.

The head coach and quarterback for the Bills ended up on camera during McDermott’s interview with ESPN, who were broadcasting the 35-10 win. During that, the Bills duo ended up doing a couple of snow angels on the field.

Before fully moving onto Buffalo’s upcoming Week 14 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, have one more look at that occasion from last week below:

Joe Brady’s ability to adapt led to Bills offense onslaught in snow

Joe Brady’s ability to adapt led to Bills offense onslaught in snow

After the Buffalo Bills’ 35-10 beatdown of the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13, the team is now 16-3 since Joe Brady was promoted to interim offensive coordinator after Week 10 last year.

Brady has changed the Bills’ offense to put his own flare on things. In return, the game has slowed down and simplified for Josh Allen.

No more sitting in shotgun for the majority of the game and spreading out five wide. No more relying on Allen to make things happen every other play.

Allen’s passing yards per game (224.3) is at its lowest since 2019. His rushing yards per game (27.8) is at its lowest since 2020. But most importantly, the team is off to its best start in decades at 10-2.

Brady’s approach has a direct impact on the 10-2 record. His playcalling style, although limiting to Allen’s statistics, has Allen with only five interceptions to this point. It’s on pace to be a career-low.

In return, the Bills are scoring points at the second-highest clip in the NFL (29.6 ppg). And, they are elite on offense all while keeping it simple.

Brady has made life the easiest for Allen that he’s seen thus far in his career. He’s spamming run plays until the defense stops it. He’s using motion pre-snap to uncover the defense. He’s using a sixth offensive linemen to make running easier. He’s going under center and using play action. Above all, he’s been willing to adjust and beat a team in a plethora of ways.

The Bills offense can shapeshift. And that’s exactly what they did in the Sunday night win.

According to the Buffalo Bills Notebook, the Bills were in shotgun for their first six plays in Week 13, and those plays resulted in just 12 yards. Brady decided to mix things up early. Over the Bills’ next 50 plays, Allen was under center for 38 of them.

On adjusting early, Brady said, “We knew it was going to be a weather condition game, but until you’re out there, every snow game is a little bit different.”

Until the Bills got out there in Week 13, they didn’t know just how bad the footing would be on the playing surface. After an early three-and-out, Bills players and personnel got on the same page and adjusted the game plan.

The shift in the offensive identity early on resulted in a season-high 220 rushing yards on their way to 35 points scored. James Cook averaged 7.6 yards per carry while Ray Davis averaged 5.7 per pop. The adjustment to playing under center was so effective that Allen and the starters were able to hit the bench early in the fourth.

That’s exactly what you want to see in an offense and a playcaller. First, the players’ talent and ability to be able to be used in different ways, and second, a coordinator’s trust and awareness to change things after just one failed drive.

Josh Allen’s rare TD trifecta put him in ultra-exclusive club with Cowboys legend

From @ToddBrock24f7: Only 14 men have scored a passing, rushing, and receiving TD in the same game. Buffalo’s Josh Allen is the latest; Dan Reeves did it in ’67.

When Bills quarterback Josh Allen took the Week 13 lateral from wide receiver Amari Cooper and carried the ball he had originally thrown into the end zone, he completed two-thirds of a rare NFL trifecta. That one play gave him both a passing and receiving touchdown in Sunday night’s game, but Allen wasn’t finished. He followed it up by rushing for another score in the fourth quarter to ice the game for Buffalo.

In so doing, Allen became just the 14th player (and the first quarterback) in league history to notch a passing, rushing, and receiving touchdown all in the same game. Christian McCaffrey did it most recently, in 2022. LaDanian Tomlinson did it in 2005. Hall of Famers Walter Payton and Frank Gifford are in the ultra-exclusive club. too.

And so is one Cowboy.

Dan Reeves was listed as a running back during his eight-year playing career and remains the 17th-leading rusher (in yards) in Cowboys history. But he was also a dangerous pass-catcher; his 1,693 receiving yards are still in the franchise’s all-time top 40. He returned a few punts and kicks in his day, and Reeves even booted an extra point in a game in 1971.

But he had also started at quarterback for three collegiate seasons at South Carolina, graduating in 1965 as the school’s leading passer. And that experience made him a unique weapon within the Dallas offense, a weapon that head coach Tom Landry wasn’t afraid to deploy.

The halfback option pass was just one of Landry’s favorite creative innovations. But to really pull it off, he needed a legitimate ball carrier who had the smarts to read a defense and a strong throwing arm, too.

That exact skill set earned the undrafted Reeves a roster spot in Dallas.

Reeves attempted at least two throws in every single NFL season he played. He recorded a career-high seven passes in the 1967 regular season and completed four of them, also a career best. That campaign also saw Reeves log his only touchdown passes, a 74-yarder to Lance Rentzel in a Thanksgiving win over the Cardinals, and a 45-yarder two weeks later, again to Rentzel to put the final dagger in a 38-17 win over the Eagles.

But Reeves had also been in the end zone on two previous occasions that Dec. 10 afternoon, first catching a five-yard toss from quarterback Craig Morton in the second quarter, and then adding a one-year touchdown plunge in the third.

Reeves’s stat line for the day: 10 rushes for 47 yards and a touchdown, four receptions for 28 yards and a touchdown, 1-for-1 passing for 45 yards and a touchdown.

At the time, he was the eighth player in league history to complete the triple-TD feat.

[affiliatewidget_smgtolocal]

The Georgia native finished the 1967 season as the league’s 15th-ranked rusher and a top-30 receiver, not even leading the Cowboys in either category. But the multi-purpose Reeves was No. 10 leaguewide in scrimmage yards, beating out the likes of Bobby Mitchell, Charley Taylor, Dallas teammates Bob Hayes, Don Perkins, and Rentzel, and even Gale Sayers.

He also ended the regular season with the NFL’s highest passer rating (101.8) for all players who had attempted five or more throws.

Reeves would go on to heave just one more touchdown pass in his career, and it was his most memorable of all.

Three weeks after his trifecta, Landry and the Cowboys ran the halfback option again, this time in the playoffs against the Green Bay Packers, on a frozen Lambeau Field where the temperature that New Year’s Eve afternoon was 13 degrees below zero.

Down 14-10 on the first play of the fourth quarter, Reeves took a pitch from Don Meredith near midfield and lumbered to his left on the iced-over grass. But after a half-dozen steps, he stopped and fired the ball, flat-footed, 35 yards to a wide-open Rentzel, who practically walked into the end zone from 20 yards out.

The strike was a massive surprise given the arctic conditions and gave Dallas their first lead of the day, a 17-14 edge that lasted all the way until the game’s final, fateful seconds. If not for Bart Starr’s famous goal-line dive to win the now-iconic “Ice Bowl,” that unlikely 50-yard touchdown pass from the team’s RB2 might still stand today as the single most famous moment in Dallas Cowboys history.

Reeves would go on to a successful coaching career, on staff in Dallas for a decade and then running the show as head coach of the Broncos, Giants, and Falcons. Reeves passed away in 2022 at the age of 77.

Reeves unquestionably enjoyed a long and storied football career, winning Super Bowl VI as a player and Super Bowl XII as an assistant coach. He’s in the Broncos Ring of Honor and was a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame ‘s Class of 2025. But perhaps none of his days on the gridiron ever quite matched when Reeves found the end zone three different times, in three different ways, and cemented his place- alongside Payton, Gifford, Tomlinson, and now Allen- on one of the most exclusive lists in the sport’s history.

Russell Wilson gets snubbed for weekly award

Russell Wilson was a lock for AFC Offensive Player of the Week but a fluke play gave it to Josh Allen instead.

On Sunday, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson threw for 414 passing yards and three passing touchdowns. He outgunned Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow to lead the Steelers to a huge 44-38 win.

It seemed like Wilson’s performance made him a no-brainer for getting AFC Offensive Player of the Week. But instead, the NFL decided to give it to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. After all, he had a dominant 166 yards of offense and two total touchdowns.  Needless to say, from he replies to the post below, plenty of fans, Steelers and otherwise, think Wilson got snubbed.

Wilson has injected new life into the Steelers passing game since becoming the starter after six games. Pittsburgh has gone 5-1 with Wilson as the starter and is averaging 271 passing yards per game. If he can keep up this pace, it will be a career-high.
