Auburn football loses linebacker to transfer portal

The junior LB will leave as a graduate of Auburn University.

As spring football begins to wind down at Auburn, one linebacker has announced his intention to transfer after he graduates this spring.

[autotag]Kameron Brown[/autotag], a former three-star linebacker from Lanier High School in Buford, Georgia, has announced that he will enter the transfer portal as a graduate student. Brown followed his brother, former Auburn defensive lineman, [autotag]Derrick Brown[/autotag], to Auburn as a member of the 2019 class.

Brown saw limited field time during his four seasons at Auburn. He was used as a reserve linebacker from 2020-22 and played in one game in 2020 against Arkansas. Because he is a graduate transfer, he will be eligible to transfer immediately.

With Brown’s departure, Auburn now has 10 players from last season’s roster to transfer away from the program. Out of those 10 players, seven of them have found new homes including [autotag]Zach Calzada[/autotag] (Incarnate Word), [autotag]Dazlin Worsham[/autotag] (UAB), [autotag]Keiondre Jones[/autotag] (Florida State), and [autotag]Jordon Ingram[/autotag] (Troy).

Former Auburn running back Jordon Ingram transfers to in-state school

He is set to join former Auburn running back Asa Martin at Troy.

[autotag]Jordon Ingram[/autotag] will be teaming up with another former Auburn running back at his new school. Ingram has reportedly enrolled at Troy, where former Auburn running back Asa Martin has also transferred to.

Ingram originally signed with Central Michigan coming out of high school but did not play in 2020 before transferring to Auburn after just one season. The Mobile native carried the ball twice for eight yards during the 2021 season.

He did not see the field in 2022 and entered the transfer portal on Dec. 6.

Ingram and Martin never shared a backfield in Auburn with Martin only spending the 2018 season on the Plains before transferring to Miami and then Memphis.

The Trojans are set to return leading rusher Kimani Vidal from last year’s 12-2 team that won the Sun Belt Conference.

Walk-on no more, RB Sean Jackson earns scholorship

Running back Sean Jackson has earned a scholarship.

[autotag]Sean Jackson[/autotag] is a walk-on no more for Auburn.

The redshirt freshman was awarded a scholarship after Auburn’s practice Friday, the team tweeted out.

The 5-foot-9, 230-pounder appeared in four games last season, rushing 10 times for 38 yards and a touchdown. With the departure of Shaun Shivers for Indiana and Jarquez Hunter sidelined with a knee injury, he has been serving as the team’s No. 2 running back behind Tank Bigsby.

Jackson was a star at Hewitt-Trussville before joining Auburn. He had 1,425 all-purpose yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior and had a scholarship offer from UAB.

With Jackson earning a scholarship, the Tigers now have three healthy running backs for spring practice in Bigsby, Jackson, and Jordon Ingram. They will add incoming freshman Damari Alson and a healthy Hunter in the fall to get to five scholarship running backs for the season.
