Former Auburn LB finds new home at FCS program

Kameron Brown will continue his football career as a graduate student.

Ahead of the spring transfer portal window opening on Saturday, one former Auburn linebacker has announced the program that he will be playing for next season.

[autotag]Kameron Brown[/autotag], a linebacker that saw limited action in four seasons at Auburn, announced Thursday that he will be transferring to Chattanooga to finish his college career.

Brown declared his intent to transfer away from Auburn last month by announcing that he would be using his remaining eligibility as a graduate student. He signed with Auburn as part of the 2019 recruiting class as a three-star linebacker from Lanier High School in Sugar Hill, Georgia. He is also the brother of former Auburn defensive lineman, [autotag]Derrick Brown[/autotag].

Brown saw limited field time during his four seasons at Auburn. He was used as a reserve linebacker from 2020-22 and played in one game in 2020 against Arkansas. Because he is a graduate transfer, he will be eligible to transfer immediately as he pursues his master of business arts degree.

Auburn football loses linebacker to transfer portal

The junior LB will leave as a graduate of Auburn University.

As spring football begins to wind down at Auburn, one linebacker has announced his intention to transfer after he graduates this spring.

[autotag]Kameron Brown[/autotag], a former three-star linebacker from Lanier High School in Buford, Georgia, has announced that he will enter the transfer portal as a graduate student. Brown followed his brother, former Auburn defensive lineman, [autotag]Derrick Brown[/autotag], to Auburn as a member of the 2019 class.

Brown saw limited field time during his four seasons at Auburn. He was used as a reserve linebacker from 2020-22 and played in one game in 2020 against Arkansas. Because he is a graduate transfer, he will be eligible to transfer immediately.

With Brown’s departure, Auburn now has 10 players from last season’s roster to transfer away from the program. Out of those 10 players, seven of them have found new homes including [autotag]Zach Calzada[/autotag] (Incarnate Word), [autotag]Dazlin Worsham[/autotag] (UAB), [autotag]Keiondre Jones[/autotag] (Florida State), and [autotag]Jordon Ingram[/autotag] (Troy).

Former Auburn WR finds new home at in-state school

The Birmingham-area native is moving closer to home after spending one season on the Plains.

After spending one season on the Plains, one former Auburn wide receiver is making a move to be closer to home.

[autotag]Dazalin Worsham[/autotag], who was a part of the 2022 roster after transferring in from Miami, has announced that he will be staying in-state, and will transfer to UAB. Worsham is a native of Trussville, and will now play college football 15 miles away from his hometown.

In his lone season at Auburn, Worsham was used sparingly. He reeled in one catch for eight yards against Arkansas on Oct. 29 and returned a total of four punts for 25 yards. According to Pro Football Focus, Worsham took part in 51 plays during the season and ended the season with a grade of 65.8.

Worsham becomes the fifth Auburn player to find a home since entering the transfer portal, and the second to make the move to UAB. Earlier this month, CB [autotag]A.D. Diamond[/autotag] announced that he would also be playing for the Blazers.

Other players to find homes include [autotag]Zach Calzada[/autotag] (Incarnate Word), [autotag]Trey Lindsey[/autotag] (Albany), and [autotag]Keiondre Jones[/autotag] (Florida State).

Former Auburn OG Keiondre Jones is headed to the ACC

Keiondre Jones is headed to Florida State.

Auburn had a chance to pull [autotag]Keiondre Jones[/autotag] back from the portal but the offensive guard announced he is headed to Florida State on Twitter Tuesday.

The LaGrange, Georgia native was a top 150 overall player when he signed with Auburn in 2019 and became a starter in 2020 and 2021 after redshirting his freshman season. He took a step back in 2022, becoming a rotational player but still thrived in run blocking and earned a couple of starts.

The 6-foot-4, 340-pound Jones is the first Auburn player to announce his transfer destination after entering the transfer portal. He is expected to contend for a starting role at either left or right guard for the Seminoles.

Auburn’s offensive line will look drastically different this coming season as they are looking to overhaul the unit and are actively pursuing multiple transfer portal players, JUCO recruits, and high school prospects with an eye to players who can immediately contribute.

Auburn guard confirms he’s entering the transfer portal

Keiondre Jones revealed his intentions to enter the portal last week.

Another Auburn player has entered the transfer portal on a Monday that has featured a mass exodus of players from programs around the nation.

This time, it’s Auburn guard [autotag]Keiondre Jones[/autotag], who has officially entered the portal after announcing his intentions to do so in the last week. Despite this, though, it isn’t quite guaranteed that he will leave — Jones said that he still may end up at Auburn if the coaching staff and their interest in him is to his liking.

Jones has been a mainstay on Auburn’s roster. He came to the program in 2019 as a true freshman and thus didn’t see playing time, but made his debut on the offensive line in 2020 after lineman Brandon Council got injured. Jones would go on to start every game in 2021, but he once again found himself on the bench during the 2022 season as guard Kameron Stutts often took reps in his stead.

Should Jones stick around, he would be coached by new offensive line coach Jake Thronton, who was on new head coach [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag]’s staff at Ole Miss.

Offensive lineman announces plans to enter transfer portal

With the transfer portal opening on Monday, this offensive lineman plans to use his two years of eligibility to play elsewhere.

The transfer portal officially opens for business on Monday, Dec. 5, and many athletes are making plans to enter.

It has been relatively quiet on The Plains as far as those announcing their intent to enter the portal, but one Tiger has announced his intention to use his final two seasons of eligibility to play elsewhere as a graduate transfer.

[autotag]Keiondre Jones[/autotag], who saw time at right guard off the bench, announced Thursday that he will look for a new home as he pursues his master’s degree.

Jones did not receive a start this season but recorded 334 total snaps over 11 games in 2022. According to Pro Football Focus, Jones received a grade of 53% this season, with his strongest category being pass blocking, where he graded at 61.9%. He allowed two sacks and six hurries.

On the other side of the portal, wide receivers [autotag]Landen King[/autotag] and [autotag]Ze’vian Capers[/autotag] have announced their intentions to return to Auburn after entering the portal during the season.

The full Auburn depth chart for Week 2

There was a bit of movement on the offensive side of the ball for this week’s new depth chart.

The new Auburn Tigers depth chart for the team’s Week 2 game against San Jose State has arrived, and it comes with some changes on the offensive side of the ball.

While the defense remains static, it would seem that senior [autotag]Kameron Stutts[/autotag] has officially won the right guard battle against teammate [autotag]Keiondre Jones[/autotag], who is now listed as a backup as opposed to the famous “or” on the depth chart. In the wide receiving corps, junior [autotag]Ja’Varrius Johnson[/autotag] appears to have bested redshirt freshman [autotag]Tar’Varish Dawson Jr.[/autotag] for the starting slot receiver position.

Check out those changes and more on the newest iteration of the depth chart here below:

Four Auburn players make new preseason All-SEC list

Which players do you think will stand out for Auburn?

It isn’t long until the college football season kicks off, but some Auburn players are already getting recognized.

In PFF’s new preseason All-SEC list, four Auburn players were listed across three teams — running back [autotag]Tank Bigsby[/autotag], defensive lineman [autotag]Colby Wooden[/autotag] and punter [autotag]Oscar Chapman[/autotag] were all named to the second team while defensive lineman [autotag]Derick Hall[/autotag] got a nod on the third team. The Tigers also got an honorable mention, too, with [autotag]Keiondre Jones[/autotag] just missing out on the third-team list.

Auburn’s defense certainly seems to be drawing the most hype this year before the start of the season, with Wooden, Hall and players like [autotag]Owen Pappoe [/autotag]making early impressions in camp and in the media before the start of the season. Bigsby, however, is expected to be one of the best running backs in the SEC, and this upcoming year could be very important for his draft stock moving forward.

These players (and more) will get their first opportunity to prove they deserve their preseason honors when the Tigers kick the season off against the Mercer Bears on Sept. 3 at home.

2022 Auburn football preview: Offensive Line

Will this be the year the offensive line puts it all together?

The offensive line has been one of the most criticized units on the roster for the past several seasons. However, with nine upper-classmen competing for spots it is also one of the most experienced units on the team.

Starters [autotag]Nick Brahms[/autotag], [autotag]Brandon Council[/autotag], [autotag]Keiondre Jones[/autotag], and [autotag]Austin Troxell[/autotag] all return and veterans [autotag]Alec Jackson[/autotag], [autotag]Kilian Zierer[/autotag], [autotag]Brenden Coffey[/autotag], [autotag]Kam Stutts[/autotag], and [autotag]Jalil Irvin[/autotag] are pushing hard.

Offensive line coach [autotag]Will Friend[/autotag] has his work cut out for him trying to find the best starting five to help pave the way for Tank Bigsby and the rest of Auburn’s running backs. While the group flashed at times last season, they need to become more consistent for Auburn’s offense to take a step forward.

Spring Football Preview: Auburn’s offensive line settling into place

This group has a ton of experience but needs to improve in 2022

Auburn’s offensive line will be one of the most experienced groups on the roster next season.

The unit will have four six-years players, three fifth-year senior, one senior and two juniors. In total Auburn will have a combined 121 starts from that group.

That experience and leadership will be valuable for that team.

With that being said, the group has struggled the last few seasons and will need to be better in 2022 for the offense to take a step forward. Another area of concern is that Auburn has just five underclassmen on the roster.

Auburn made no secrets about their pursuit of several offensive lineman who were in the transfer portal and more high school recruits. The Tigers landed just one, true freshman Eston Harris.

Will Friend did a solid job piecing this unit together last season as multiple players suffered injuries but will need someone to take a step forward this season. Here is a look at the group.
