Colts RB Jonathan Taylor will look to set an NFL record tomorrow

The former Badger back has the chance to set an NFL record

Wisconsin Badger legend Jonathan Taylor has been arguably the greatest running back on the planet during the 2021 season.

In leading the Indianapolis Colts (6-5) to three wins in as many games and helping turn their season around, Taylor has himself primed for an NFL record.

In each of the two-time Doak Walker Award winner’s last eight games, he has gone for at least 100 yards on the ground and had a rushing touchdown. That mark tied Taylor with NFL legends Lydell Mitchell and LaDainian Tomlinson for the most consecutive games with those numbers.

Taylor has a chance to set the NFL record on Sunday, when his Colts host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Badger legend Jonathan Taylor brought the pain in the passing game on Thursday Night Football

Jonathan Taylor has been making the most of his touches early on Thursday Night Football. On what ended up being a Colts touchdown drive to tie the score at ten with the Tennessee Titans, the Badger legend showed off the strength we saw at Camp Randall for the past three seasons.

Titans defensive back Amani Hooker felt the pain from the two-time Doak Walker Award winner:

Taylor has two catches for 25 yards to go along with four carries for ten total yards through one half of football in Tennessee.

The former Badger is off and running in the NFL

The Indianapolis Colts picked up their first win of the season yesterday in a 28-11 stomping of the Minnesota Vikings. Their new bell cow back Jonathan Taylor had a major impact in just his second ever NFL game.

The two-time Doak Walker Award winner was thrust into a starring role on Sunday afternoon given a season-ending injury to Colts RB Marlon Mack. As a result, the former Badger carried the football 26 times for 101 yards, and scored his first career NFL touchdown.

This is certainly the first of many, for a player who is an early frontrunner for offensive rookie of the year.
