Top 10 musical artists that need to perform at Notre Dame Stadium

Who do you want to see play in South Bend?

According to the website setlist.fm, Johnny Cash was the first artist to play at Notre Dame Stadium in 1977. That would be the last musical performance at the stadium until Chicago played at halftime of the Irish’s 2017 game against USC. Since then, Chicago has come back for one other game, and Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have played there twice apiece. Weezer appeared there for the 2019 Winter Classic, and Billy Joel played a full show there in 2022.

Other than that, Notre Dame Stadium has a very paltry history when it comes to hosting big musical acts. I don’t know or care what’s behind that. I just want to see Notre Dame Stadium become a hot spot for concerts like most other stadiums around the world are when they don’t have games to host. Plus, such things only can be a boost to South Bend’s economy, and those shouldn’t have to happen only during football season.

Here are 10 artists I believe need to add Notre Dame Stadium to their next tour:

Jonas Brothers will perform at halftime of Giants-Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game

The Jonas Brothers will perform at halftime of a Thanksgiving Day game between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys.

The New York Giants will travel down to Arlington on Thanksgiving Day to take on their NFC East rivals, the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys defeated the Giants, 23-16, earlier this year in East Rutherford, so Big Blue will be looking for some revenge.

Meanwhile, at halftime, the NFL has tabbed the Jonas Brothers to perform — an announcement made by FOX Sports using a trio of Cowboys jerseys.

Although the Cowboys are the home team and therefor dominate the branding, the Jonas Brothers are not fans of Jerry Jones & Co. In fact, quite to the contrary, the three brothers are big fans of the New York Football Giants.

Kevin and Joe grew up in Wyckoff, New Jersey, which is just about 20 miles away from MetLife Stadium. And while Nick was born in Dallas, he has stayed true to the Giants just like his brothers.

Shortly after the Giants selected Andrew Thomas in the 2020 NFL draft, they sent out a supportive message.

Even if the Jonas Brothers are forced into wearing Cowboys colors on Thanksgiving Day, don’t get it twisted: they want to see Big Blue dominate the day.

Jonas Brothers to perform at halftime of Giants-Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game

The Jonas Brothers are the halftime act on Thanksgiving when the Giants face the Cowboys

If the tradition of watching the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving wasn’t enough, now you have a major music act performing at halftime.

The New York Giants will visit the Cowboys in what is shaping up to be a huge NFC East contest.

Bridging the halves on Nov. 24 will be the Jonas Brothers, who will entertain those at the stadium and watching across the land.
