In the three-minute video posted on Twitter, the Big Ten Player of the Year talked about his strengths including his competitive edge and aggressive defense. He also spoke about how he has taken the time in the draft process to improve his three-point shooting mechanics.

It is very cool to see the former Wisconsin star going through the draft process as a likely lottery pick. Badgers fans will not have to wait long to find out where Davis is going since the draft is next Thursday.

Pacers reveal prospects for next individual draft workouts

The Pacers will host two projected lottery picks this week for individual workouts.

Duke freshman AJ Griffin and Wisconsin sophomore Johnny Davis will each work out individually with the Indiana Pacers this week, the team announced.

Griffin, who will visit the Pacers on Monday, averaged 10.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and one assist on 44.7% shooting from 3-point range last season. He was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team and ranked fifth in program history in 3-point percentage.

Meanwhile, Davis will work out on Tuesday with Indiana, which will be his fifth known meeting with a team ahead of the draft. He was a consensus first-team All-American after averaging 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 31 games last season.

The Pacers were awarded the sixth overall pick in the draft, one position lower than their pre-lottery odds. They have hosted several first-round prospects for workouts, including Dyson Daniels and Bennedict Mathurin among others.

Griffin and Davis each project to be available when Indiana is on the clock. They are considered to be lottery picks and will have the opportunity to showcase their abilities this week in front of team executives and coaches.

The NBA draft will take place on June 23.

Indiana Pacers hold an individual workout with Badgers G Johnny Davis

Sophomore guard Johnny Davis had another individual workout this past week ahead of the NBA Draft:

Armed with the No. 6 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Indiana Pacers held a pre-draft workout earlier this week with Badgers sophomore guard Johnny Davis, according to IndyStar beat writer James Boyd.

Davis, who was the Big Ten Player of the Year, Lute Olson National Player of the Year, and a consensus first-team All-American averaged 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 31 games for Wisconsin last season.

Standing at 6-foot-5, 196-pounds, the Badgers star appears well-positioned to be a lottery selection, which will make him the first Wisconsin player drafted that high since Frank Kaminsky back in 2015.

The 2022 NBA Draft will take place on June 23.

Where Johnny Davis lands in ESPN’s latest mock draft

A look at where Davis ends up in the latest ESPN mock

Fresh off of a First-Team All-Big Ten campaign as a sophomore, Wisconsin guard Johnny Davis is set to be a surefire lottery pick in the 2022 NBA draft.

ESPN NBA draft insider Jonathan Givony released his latest mock draft last week, and had the Badgers star included in the top ten. Davis wound up going at No. 10 overall to the Washington Wizards.

The Badger star has already worked out in Washington, and noted the intensity of the session. “I’ve never had a workout like that before…high intensity,” said the La Crosse native when asked about playing in front of the Wizards’ decision makers.

The NBA draft will take place on Thursday, June 23.

Tracy McGrady thinks a pair of prospects who the Thunder could take in 2022 NBA draft will be superstars

One is more likely than the other for the Thunder.

Hall-of-Famer Tracy McGrady named a pair of 2022 NBA draft prospects when asked by NBC Sports Washington which prospects he thinks has the best chance of being future superstars.

“I like the kid Johnny Davis. I think he has the ability to be a star in today’s game. I think Jabari Smith has the ability to be a star in today’s game,” McGrady said. “Those two really stand out to me of having that potential to be perennial All-Stars in the NBA.”

While it must be exciting for Smith Jr. and Davis to hear this from an NBA legend, the chances of the Oklahoma City Thunder adding either is low. Smith Jr. is projected by most national mock drafts to go first overall to the Orlando Magic while Davis is projected to go before 12, but there’s still a decent shot he falls to there.
