Joc Pederson rightfully ripped owners of the Pirates, Orioles and Guardians over pathetic payrolls

These ridiculously cheap owners should be ashamed of themselves.

The 2022 MLB season is set to begin in just a few weeks now that the lockout is over and spring training is underway.

This is the time of year where optimism reigns supreme for a number of fanbases as they start thinking about possible World Series runs even though we are still months way from the playoffs.

I say “a number of fanbases” because we all know that there are a bunch of teams that have no chance at having successful years because their owners don’t want to spend the money necessary to be contenders. It has to stink for those fans because they deserve so much better.

Just look at the payrolls for the Pirates, Orioles, and Guardians:

That’s pathetic, especially when you consider this:

There really is no excuse to be so cheap. The owners should sell the teams to people who actually care and aren’t afraid to pay for a good team.

Braves star Joc Pederson rightfully crushed the three teams:

Well freakin said, Joc. These owners are an embarrassment and should be called out every day until they do the right thing and sell their teams.

MLB Twitter had reactions:

Pearls-wearing Joc Pederson threw pearl necklaces out during Braves parade

Totally on brand for Joctober.

Of course this was what was going to happen at the Atlanta Braves World Series parade — Joc Pederson, who is now a back-to-back champ, made a fashion statement late in the year with his pearl necklace (which is now going to Cooperstown) … and now he’s spreading the pearls to fans.

The outfielder was tossing ’em left and right while atop one of the buses (thank goodness this one was moving slower than the other one was earlier in the day) and having a blast with yet another cigar.

Also, man I wish was there to receive one of those necklaces:

Joc Pederson’s pearls are going from the World Series to Cooperstown

The distinctive pearl necklace of Atlanta’s outfielder will have a new home.

The distinctive pearl necklace of Atlanta Braves outfielder Joc Pederson will soon have a new home. Pederson, who has been wearing the unusual accessory throughout Atlanta’s run to the World Series, is going to send his necklace to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

The necklace has garnered a lot of attention since he started wearing it all the way back in September, and it became clear that the pearls would become a point of discussion as the postseason carried on. It wasn’t without drama, however, as the necklace broke during the series against Houston and Pederson’s jeweler had to fly to Atlanta to save the day.

Pederson, who previously won a World Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020, will wear the necklace one more time before sending them to their final landing spot.

Time to celebrate with some red wine.

Joc Pederson celerbated the Braves’ NLCS win with a glass of wine on the field and fans loved it

Joc Pederson walking around the field with a glass of red wine in his hand is too good.

The Atlanta Braves beat the Los Angeles Dodgers last night, 4-2, to win the NCLS and clinch a spot in the World Series for the first time since 1999.

It’s been an incredible run for a team that won just 88 games in the regular season and after the final out last night the team rightfully had some fun celebrating their series win over a Dodgers team that won 106 games this year.

Joc Pederson, whose pearl necklace has been one of the stars of the postseason, took things to a very fancy level during the celebration as he got some wine glasses and poured himself and his wife some glasses or red win.

Check this guy out:

It looks like he had some good stuff, too:

He also made sure his daughter had some fun celebrating:

Living the dream!

Mics picked up Joc Pederson’s NSFW celebration after his huge HR off Max Scherzer

Joctober is very real.

Atlanta Braves outfielder Joc Pederson cannot stop beating up pitchers this postseason.

Entering Sunday night’s Game 2 of the NLCS against the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers—the team he played his first seven years in the league with—Pederson is slashing .400/.400/.1000 with two home runs and five RBI in five games. He added another homer to that total in the fourth inning off Max Scherzer and that tied the game at 2-2.

The ball was absolutely demolished, and thanks to some perfectly placed microphones, Pederson was able to let the whole world know exactly how it feels to launch a pitch into the next galaxy in the postseason.

(Warning: NSFW language)

“I’m a bad mother(expletive),” Pederson shouted on his way into the dugout.

Then he repeated himself for good measure to make sure his teammates on the other end of the dugout got the message, too.

Not that many were questioning whether or not that was the case with Pederson.

All anyone who isn’t convinced by his demeanor has to do is take a glance at the pearl necklace Pederson has been rocking during games. This man is operating at peak levels of confidence with a swing to match.

On Sunday, he tagged one of the best pitchers of the last 20 years for a no-doubt home run that ensured Scherzer wouldn’t get another postseason win on his resume.

As the Dodgers’ ace quickly learned, this is Joctober. The rest of us are just along for the ride with Pederson at this point.

Why does the Braves’ Joc Pederson wear a pearl necklace?

Let’s dive in.

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably asked the very question above: Joc Pederson, the outfielder for the Atlanta Braves — who are playing in the 2021 NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers — has started wearing a pearl necklace during games.

So: What’s the deal?

The answer isn’t completely certain, and Pederson has been asked about it a lot and has given various replies. But it’s an awesome quirk that could now be a good luck charm (you know how superstitious baseball players can be). The lefty hit a dinger in the series against the Milwaukee Brewers last week with the pearls on.

Let’s track this and the various answers:

Fans loved how Joc Pederson used Anthony Rizzo’s bat to hit a huge 3-run HR for the Braves

Hey, it worked!

Joc Pederson was the first midseason move the Braves made to bolster their outfield amid Ronald Acuña Jr.’s season-ending injury, and he’s continued to make a major impact in the postseason (it’s Joctober, after all).

But he may have to send some thanks to former Cubs teammate Anthony Rizzo.

During the fifth inning of Monday’s National League Division Series Game 3 in Atlanta, Pederson came to the plate as a pinch hitter for Ian Anderson with two runners on. Pederson, who was already 2 for 2 in the series with a home run, launched a massive three-run home run to the right field Chop House.

Cubs’ Joc Pederson bat-flipped on what he thought was a home run. It was not.

Whoops.

You can certainly get why Joc Pederson wanted this hit to be a walk-off home run so badly that he did a premature celebration bat-flip before it turned out not to be a dinger.

It would have been a game-winner against his former team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, who chose not to re-sign him after the 2020 season, so maybe the Chicago Cubs outfielder wanted to stick it to the franchise.

Alas. But it made for a fantastic highlight, especially because the Cubs won in extra innings anyway, and this was a sac fly to tie up the game. So it’s not that bad!

Too good.

Here’s why Joc Pederson got a waffle maker after his first home run with the Cubs

Joc really got a waffle iron. Wow.

It seems like things are finally starting to click for Joc Pederson and the Cubs after the left fielder moved on from the Dodgers this offseason. He finally hit his first homer with his new team on Wednesday and he was thrilled about it.

It was a timely one, too. It came in the 8th inning when the Cubs were down 1-0 to the Brewers. With the way Pederson walked the bases, you could tell he was excited about hitting his first home run for Chicago.

It was a straight-up bomb. The Cubs ended up losing the game 4-2, but it was still good to see Pederson getting one over the wall finally.

But the real kicker here was the gift that the Cubs gave him after he hit it. He got a new waffle iron when he hit the dugout. Yes, really. That happened. And he was clearly, he was thrilled about it.

That’s wild, right? That’s such a random gift. But when you actually figure out the reasoning behind it, it makes a bit more sense. This was all part of a plan to get Pederson out of his slump, per CBS Sports.

In baseball, “waffling” is a good thing. It means you’ve made good contact with a pitch. And for the last few years, Pederson’s teammate Ian Happ has been bringing waffle irons to games to celebrate.

It worked for Pederson.

“It was huge. Grinded a little bit to start the season, just to kind of get the first one, especially in front of the fans and whatnot. I think it’s a little bit more added pressure than normal. Yeah, it was a big relief,” Pederson said.

Hopefully, for the Cubs, there are a lot more waffle irons to pass out soon.
