Dan Patrick: Tennessee gave cash to recruits in McDonald’s bags

According to Patrick’s source, Tennessee football got ‘sloppy’ and its staff gave cash to recruits in McDonald’s bags. Details here.

Tennessee is currently under investigation by the NCAA for recruiting violations under the watch of recently fired head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

In addition to the former Georgia defensive coordinators’ termination, the university fired nine other football employees who were hired by Pruitt.

Among the numerous issues revolving around the Volunteers program, which include level I and level II violations that garner the most severe repercussions, is this nugget of information passed along on The Dan Patrick Show.

According to Patrick’s source close to the situation, Tennessee football got ‘sloppy’ and its staff gave cash to recruits in McDonald’s bags and acted like they were not trying to hide anything.

Patrick’s source also said that Georgia football got ‘sloppy’ as well, although there are currently no reports that back that statement and the University of Georgia told the Athens Banner-Herald recently that there is no ongoing investigation into the UGA program.

As expected, Pruitt is defending his moves at UT legally and even released a statement with his lawyer on Monday condemning his firing.

By firing with cause, Tennessee avoided a $12.8 million dollar buyout.

This story is becoming more and more comical by the day. My only question is why not move up the proverbial fast-food chain to a premium burger spot like Sonic or Five Guys?

Nonetheless, Tennessee will look to replace half of its football staff in the coming months.
