What high school recruits won awards at the Under Armour Next Football Camp?

The Under Armour camp was loaded in New Jersey this weekend.

A number of the top prospects in the nation were in New Jersey over the weekend for the Under Armour Next Football Camp.

The annual camp, held this year at Hackensack High School (Hackensack, New Jersey) featured multiple top players and recruits. Multiple Rutgers football targets were present at the event.

The most interesting name for Rutgers football in terms of recruiting are [autotag]Jermaine Kinsler [/autotag](a class of 2026 recruit who is uncommitted) and [autotag]Adam Shovlin[/autotag] (a class of 2025 edge rusher who is uncommitted).

Both Kinsler and Shovlin hold Rutgers offers. Kinsler spoke about his experience at the Under Armour Camp and where things stand with Rutgers football on Sunday following the event.

One of New Jersey’s top prospects in the 2026 class, Jermaine Kinsler, had a noteworthy showing at the Under Armour Next High School camp this past Sunday. Kinsler took a visit this spring to Rutgers.

A defensive lineman from Bergen Catholic (Oradell, New Jersey), Kinsler shared defensive line MVP honors at the one-day camp event in Hackensack, New Jersey. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound prospect is ranked a four-star by ESPN, where he is the No. 218 player in the nation.

He holds a strong offer list that includes Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Miami, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse and Tennessee. This spring, he took visits to Florida, Florida State, Miami and Tennessee.

On Sunday while on his way home following the camp, Kinsler gave an update on his camp performance.

“I thought the coaching was great,” Kinsler said.

“NFL great Pepper Johnson was my position coach. I felt I hit better today.”

Last week, Kinsler was at Rutgers on Saturday for the annual Scarlet-White Game to wrap up spring practice.

He says he has developed a “good relationship with the coaches” so far throughout the recruiting process with Rutgers.

“I was there for the spring game. Things are very good with them,” Kinsler said.

“What stands out is how everyone in the program seems to have a brotherhood.”

He is currently living with his uncle, Latish Kinsler.

A former college football player at Cincinnati and in the NFL, Kinsler is now an advisor to prep football players throughout the college recruitment process including Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deals.

Jermaine Kinsler from Bergen Catholic has an impressive list of visits this spring.

Jermain Kinsler, a class of 2026 defensive lineman, is scheduled to have a busy spring. One of the top defensive linemen in New Jersey, Kinsler is a name to watch and already boasts an impressive Power Five offer list, including Rutgers.

Kinsler transferred from Florida to Bergen Catholic (Oradell, New Jersey) this past season. A likely four-star, Kinsler is 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds and has an impressive offer list.

Among his offers are Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Miami, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse and Tennessee, Virginia Tech and West Virginia among others.

This spring, Kinsler will be taking a trip to a Power Five offer nearly every weekend. His tentative schedule as of now includes:

  • Tennessee (March 23)
  • Miami (March 28)
  • Florida (March 30)
  • Florida State (April 2)

In addition, Rutgers Wire has learned that Kinsler will be taking an unofficial visit to Rutgers at some point this spring. This could possibly be for the annual Spring Game.

Bergen Catholic standout lineman Jermaine Kinsler will be at Rutgers on Saturday for their Big Ten regular-season finale against Maryland.

One of the top recruits in New Jersey, Kinsler will be one of several dozen recruits at SHI Stadium for Rutgers as they close out the regular season. Rutgers has taken a step forward as a program, with a 6-5 (3-5 Big Ten) record and a greatly improved roster.

He currently has a strong offer list that includes Boston College, Florida, Liberty, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Syracuse in addition to Rutgers.

The class of 2026 lineman gave an update on his recruitment and where things stand with Rutgers.

“Things are going well with Rutgers. The program under coach Schiano is going in the right direction,” Kinsler told Rutgers Wire.

“They are a school that I’ll give serious consideration to. I also stopped by a Rutgers basketball practice recently. Never know…I might be fortunate enough to play both for Rutgers.”

After his visit on Saturday, Kinsler’s full attention will turn to Tuesday night at MetLife Stadium, which will be the host Bergen Catholic against Delbarton.

“We are prepared. Everyone is locked in – coaches and players,” Kinsler said.

“Personally, I can’t wait to play at MetLife. I’ve been there a couple of times but not as a player.”

The transition from Florida, where Kinsler was born and raised, has been eye-opening for him but he says it is a challenge he has been up for.

“My first season has been a learning process because I’m playing both sides of the ball,” Kinsler said.

“But I’m enjoying the challenge. Plus, I love my teammates.

“New Jersey is definitely different than back home but every day, things get a little more comfortable. I have a good amount of family here so that helps when I miss my parents and siblings.”

In his recruitment, Kinsler said he is being guided by his parents in addition to his uncle [autotag]Latish Kinsler[/autotag]. A former college standout at Cincinnati who played in the NFL, Latish Kinsler is based in New Jersey and is working as a mentor who guides college prospects through the recruitment process as well as Name, Image and Likeness (NIL).

Michigan State football has extended an offer to a rising defensive lineman prospect from the Garden State.

Jermaine Kinsler of Oradell, N.J. announced on Tuesday that he’s received a scholarship offer from the Spartans. Kinsler is a defensive lineman prospect in the 2026 class.

Michigan State is the one of 13 programs to extend an offer to Kinsler, according to 247Sports. Other notable programs to offer Kinsler includes Miami (FL), Florida, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Boston College, West Virginia and Syracuse.

New offer from Rutgers football goes out to Jermaine Kinsler

Bergen Catholic standout Jermaine Kinsler was offered by Rutgers on Saturday.

A 6-foot-5, 250-pound edge rusher, Kinsler transferred to Bergen Catholic this offseason from Trinity Catholic (Ocala, Florida). He has been offered by Boston College, Florida, Liberty Miami and USF among other programs.

He is a member of the 2026 class.

The offer came on Saturday night following Rutgers football’s 52-3 win over Wagner. It was a strong effort from the Scarlet Knights, who limited a solid Wagner offense to just 106 yards of total offense.

Rutgers is fourth on the season in the Big Ten in both points allowed and yards allowed.

Kinsler is very strong off the edge, using his length well.

Bergen Catholic was strong on Saturday, improving to 5-1 following a thorough win over No. 2 DePaul.

Since a loss at Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Florida), Bergen Catholic has won three straight games.
