These 4 blue-chip 2024 recruits are heading to Gainesville for late-July visit

Florida is set to receive some big-time visitors at the end of the month from these four South Florida teammates.

Florida football’s recruiting efforts are currently riding on high after a recent coup that saw a trio of 2023 prospects committing in a matter of hours. While things are still cooking with the current class, the scene is set to heat up even more at the end of this month when a flood of prep talent arrives in Gainesville for the Friday Night Lights and annual cookout events.

Among those making their way to the Swamp that weekend are a quartet of teammates from Hollywood (Florida) Chaminade-Madonna, who are set to make official visits on July 28, according to Gators Online. Wide receivers Joshisa Trader and Jeremiah Smith, both of whom have earned five-star ratings from various prominent evaluators, as well as quarterback Cedrick Bailey Jr. and running back Davion Gause all plan on making the trip up Florida’s Turnpike to join in on the action.

Below is a look at the four rising juniors and how they size up both literally and figuratively according to the major scouting publications.

Texas extends an offer to the No. 1 wide receiver in the country

Smith picked up an offer from Texas while he was on campus Thursday.

One of the most important offseason additions for Steve Sarkisian was the hiring of wide receivers coach Brennan Marion. Continue reading “Texas extends an offer to the No. 1 wide receiver in the country”

Michigan State football offers the top wide receiver in 2024 recruiting class

Michigan State football offers the top wide receiver in 2024 recruiting class

Mel Tucker has already done a remarkable job during his tenure with Michigan State football, but he has yet to land the ‘big one’ on the recruiting trail, AKA a 5-star recruit. Tucker is clearly looking to change that soon, with multiple 5-stars recently talking about offers or conversations they’ve had with the Spartans.

The latest 5-star is Jeremiah Smith, the top ranked receiver in the 2024 class who posted on Twitter on Monday night that he just received an offer from MSU.

Smith is a 5-star recruit in the 2024 and the top ranked wide receiver in that class by 247Sports. He’s currently projected to go to Ohio State but also has interest from many of the other top schools in the country. Smith currently plays for Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Florida.

5-star wideout in contact with Grisham, aiming to visit Clemson this summer

The Clemson Insider recently spoke with Chaminade-Madonna Prep (Opa Locka, Fla.) five-star receiver Jeremiah Smith. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound sophomore currently ranks as the No. 2 wideout and the nation’s No. 15 overall prospect in the 2024 class, …

The Clemson Insider recently spoke with Chaminade-Madonna Prep (Opa Locka, Fla.) five-star receiver Jeremiah Smith. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound sophomore currently ranks as the No. 2 wideout and the nation’s No. 15 overall prospect in the 2024 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.

While the Tigers can’t actively reach out to Smith yet because of NCAA rules and the fact he is a sophomore, Smith estimates that he talks with Clemson wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham about once a month. According to Smith, they’re building a great relationship right now and focusing on the family aspect of things.

“I talked to Coach Grisham last Wednesday,” Smith said. “He was just talking about how he wants me to get up there sometime, probably in the summertime or something like that. Coach Grisham, I see him as a great guy. He’s a great coach. He wants to get you better. He’s a great father to his kids, and a great husband to his wife.”

Smith can see an offer coming, but he knows that he needs to get up to Clemson this summer. and see how everything is up there. While he would love that offer in hand, Smith is appreciative that Clemson wants to build a relationship with him and his family before he receives that coveted offer. He’s not in any rush to receive one.

For Smith, it’s intriguing to hear from a school like Clemson because of the program’s history at the receiver position with guys like DeAndre Hopkins and Tee Higgins. The Florida ties that Clemson has in the receiver room are also eye-opening for Smith, with guys like Troy Stellato and the lone class of 2023 commit Ray-Ray Joseph being from his area.

Smith plays for the South Florida Express, one of the best top 7-on-7 teams in the nation. Joseph also plays for SFE, but he is on the class of 2023 team, while Smith plays with the ’24s.

“He’s told me that I need to visit Clemson,” Smith said regarding what he’s heard from Joseph about the Tigers. “It’s a great experience up there. He told me that I need to get the offer because they need me up there and just stuff like that. So, I’m just waiting for the offer.”

“Clemson, they are getting back to the way it used to be,” he continued,” because last season they didn’t have their best season. I feel like they’ll have a way better season than they had last year and get back to the way Clemson used to be.”

Smith has recently made visits to Miami and Florida State, he just visited SMU this past weekend and he’s planning on visiting Ohio State sometime this week.

Oklahoma offers four-star 2024 wide receiver Jeremiah Smith out of Florida

Oklahoma offered four-star class of 2024 wide receiver Jeremiah Smith out of Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Fla.

Oklahoma extended an offer to four-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. The 6-foot-2, 185 pound prospect is ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 39 player nationally, the No. 9 wide receiver and the eighth-best player from the state of Florida in the 2024 class.

In the On3 consensus rankings, Smith checks in as the No. 11 player overall, the No. 3 wide receiver and the No. 2 player from the state of Florida in the 2024 class.

Smith is from Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Fla. He’s the cousin of former West Virginia quarterback and Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Geno Smith.

Smith is also teammates with Zaquan Patterson, one of Oklahoma’s other recent targets in the 2024 class. According to 247Sports, Patterson is the No. 12 player nationally in the 2024 class, the No. 2 athlete and second-best player from Florida. OU offered Patterson on Feb. 11.

The Oklahoma offer for Smith continues a recent surge in high-profile offers. Over the past month, Smith has received offers from Texas A&M on Jan. 20, Utah on Jan. 22, LSU on Jan. 24, USC on Jan. 27 and Alabama on Feb. 4.

Smith also holds offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Temple, UCF, West Virginia, Indiana and Toledo.

It continues a recent trend on wide receiver offers for the Sooners.

Upon his arrival as the Sooners’ new OC, Lebby offered wide receiver, Jayden Gibson. Gibson was at the time a Florida commit, and, eventually, he flipped from Florida to Oklahoma. Gibson stands at 6-foot-4. He’s enrolled and working out as an early enrollee.

That started a significant and noticeable trend of offers being shipped to other wide receivers of the 2023 and 2024 classes. Lebby primarily likes his receivers big with long frames.

Here’s where we can draw this conclusion: Jaden Greathouse (6-foot-2), Jalen Hale (6-foot-2) and Aidan Mizell (6-foot-3) have taken precedent over guys like DeAndre Moore Jr, who recently decommitted from the Sooners. – Bryant Crews, Sooners Wire.

It’s very early in the 2024 cycle, but it’s nice to see Oklahoma in on talented playmakers like Smith and Patterson this quickly. Offering both early gives the Sooners a chance to sell the idea of the pair continuing their playing careers in the Crimson and Cream.
