Vikings dub Jeff Anderson executive VP/chief communications officer

Jeff Anderson gets a bump in job title

Jeff Anderson is climbing another rung on the ladder at the same place where everything started for him as a public relations intern in 2003. On Wednesday, the Minnesota Vikings announced he would be stepping into the role of executive vice president/chief communications officer.

This promotion puts Anderson, the former vice president of strategic and corporate communications, on the frontlines of tackling football-related tasks, including leading the communications department and earning a spot on the executive leadership team.

The decision for the team to hire internally just reinforces how much the organization values loyalty, dependability and hard work.

“The trust and confidence Andrew Miller and the Wilf family have shown by moving me into this critical role is sincerely appreciated,” Anderson said, via the Vikings’ official website. “There is so much to admire about the Vikings organization, its fan base and the Minneapolis-St. Paul media market and community. I’m thankful to be able to continue my career where I began as an intern and to lead this talented communications team moving forward.”

There hasn’t been as much change on the football field for the Vikings, but there has been plenty of change in the front office with Kwesi Adofo-Mensah taking over as the team’s new general manager.

Anderson now becomes another key cog in the wheel with the hopes of ensuring that change makes things better in Minnesota.

Report: Browns add 2 coaches to the defensive staff

The Browns have reportedly hired Jordan Thomas and Jeff Anderson to the defensive coaching staff

The Cleveland Browns have filled a couple of vacancies on the defensive coaching staff. Per Aaron Wilson of PFN, the Browns have hired a new assistant defensive line coach and a quality control coach to work under coordinator Joe Woods.

Jordan Thomas is the new assistant DL coach, and he has some interesting connections that could come in handy during the upcoming draft evaluation period. Thomas has been the assistant DL coach at San Diego State for the last two years. He played linebacker for SDSU.

One of the players he coached with the Aztecs, Cameron Thomas, is a consensus top 75 overall pick in the coming draft and a good fit for the Browns scheme.

The new defensive quality control coach is Jeff Anderson, per Wilson. There is no official word yet on Chris Kiffin’s fate. He is not currently listed on the Browns’ coaching roster.
