Auburn commits, targets clutter Prep Redzone’s top 2026 recruit rankings

Auburn has dominated the in-state recruiting game recently, and looks to continue its streak in 2026.

Auburn football has dominated the in-state recruiting scene lately and is in a prime position to continue the trend in 2026.

Prep Redzone recently updated their 2026 recruiting rankings for Alabama, and the list is cluttered with Auburn commits and prospects. [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and the Tigers claim two top-five recruits in the updated rankings and are in the running to land two more.

Auburn linebacker commit [autotag]Shadarius Toodle[/autotag] checks in at No. 5, one spot below fellow Auburn pledge [autotag]Hezekiah Harris[/autotag], an EDGE from Huntsville. Prep Redzone’s Cooper Morreale says that Harris, the state’s No. 1 defensive lineman, will play a key role in Mae Jemison High School’s defensive success this season.

Hezekiah Harris is a fantastic defensive lineman out of Mae Jemison that has been one of the top 5 prospects in our 2026 Rankings for a while now. Harris possesses a rare combination of size, athleticism, and exceptional pass-rushing skills that have made him an outstanding player on Mae Jemison’s defensive front. Harris is a constant threat to opposing quarterbacks with how well he rushes the passer. Every snap Harris rushes the passer he can consistently overwhelm and beat offensive linemen to generate pressure and take down the quarterback. Harris is also terrific against the run- he uses his size to eat up space, can easily shed blocks, and frequently takes down the ball carrier at or behind the line of scrimmage. With how well he’s played the last few years, Harris has become a highly recruited prospect and recently committed to Auburn earlier this summer. Be sure to watch out for Harris this fall, he and this Mae Jemison defense have the potential to be one of the top units in the state.

Auburn is also pursuing No. 3 [autotag]Cederian Morgan[/autotag] (WR, Alexander City) and No. 1 [autotag]Anthony Jones[/autotag] (LB, Mobile). Morgan is projected to sign with Auburn’s 2026 class while Alabama remains Auburn’s biggest threat to sign Jones. Morreale says that Jones is undoubtedly the best prospect the state has to offer from the 2026 class.

Anthony Jones is the #1 prospect in our 2026 Rankings and rightfully so, he’s been phenomenal for Saint Paul’s Episcopal’s defense over the last two years. Jones is a fantastic linebacker prospect that plays with a ton of athleticism, aggression, and physicality. Jones can do everything that his coaches ask of him- he’s a terrific pass rusher, can set the edge, attack the run, and is always around the ball impacting plays. It’s seriously impressive watching Jones’ effort on the field, he doesn’t give up on plays, has great pursuit, and consistently finds ways to disrupt offenses throughout all four quarters. Jones had himself a huge sophomore season last fall- he ended the year with 102 total tackles (10 for loss), 10 sacks, and 5 pass breakups on the season. With how well he’s played the last two years Jones has been highly recruited- he has picked up offers from Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, and more! Keep an eye on Jones this fall, he’s a heck of a talent and the number-one player in our 2026 class for a reason!

Four-star linebacker commit [autotag]Jamichael Garrett[/autotag] is another notable name within Prep Redzone’s rankings by checking in at No. 12.

Auburn receives predictions to land 2026 wide receiver Cederian Morgan

Could Auburn’s 2026 class be the best in program history?

Auburn football’s 2026 class is shaping into one of its best classes in program history.

After landing three four-star prospects during Big Cat Weekend, Auburn wants to keep the momentum by landing a four-star wide receiver from Alexander City to its collection.

Following the busy weekend, Auburn Undercover’s Christian Clemente and Jason Caldwell have submitted “crystal ball predictions” in favor of Auburn landing [autotag]Cederian Morgan[/autotag], a four-star wide receiver from Benjamin Russell High School (Ala.). The predictions from Clemente and Caldwell outweigh a previous prediction from 247Sports National Recruiting analyst Tom Loy’s prediction from June in favor of Alabama.

Morgan was one of many 2026 prospects to visit Auburn for Big Cat Weekend, where he spent his time getting to know Auburn coaches and spending time with current players, including his former high school teammate [autotag]Malcolm Simmons[/autotag].

“I got a chance to get closer with all of the players and coaches,” Morgan said in an interview with Auburn Undercover. “They just made me feel like home. It would be a good place for me to be.”

Morgan is a four-star wide receiver according to 247Sports. He is the No. 4 overall wide receiver from the class and is the No. 2 recruit from Alabama, trailing Auburn target [autotag]Anthony Jones[/autotag] for the top spot. Auburn possesses three of the state’s top 10 recruits from the 2026 cycle on their recruiting board: EDGE [autotag]Hezekiah Harris[/autotag] (No. 3), LB [autotag]Shadarius Toodle[/autotag] (No. 6), and LB [autotag]JaMichael Garrett[/autotag] (No. 8).

Auburn lands commitment from LB JaMichael Garrett

During a jam packed Big Cat Weekend, Auburn football earns a big commitment from Gulf Shores linebacker JaMichael Garrett on Saturday.

Auburn football prides itself in holding one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the offseason, Big Cat Weekend. This year’s festivities are on track to be just as big as years past, and the Tigers are earning solid commitments left and right.

One of those commitments comes from four-star linebacker [autotag]JaMichael Garrett[/autotag], who pledges his talents to the Plains over LSU and USC.

Auburn has been in a comfortable position to land Garrett for a while leading up to this weekend. He visited the Plains on June 1 and was at LSU just days ago.

The Gulf Shores High School (Alabama) product was a key component of the Dolphins’ 2023 Class 5A state title victory, racking up 87 tackles, 26.5 tackles-for-loss and 9.5 sacks on the year.

According to the On3 industry ranking, Garrett is the No. 124 player in the nation and the No. 11 linebacker. He is also No. 8 in the state of Alabama.

Garrett is one of three 2026 commitments for the Tigers this weekend along with EDGE [autotag]Hezekiah Harris[/autotag] and linebacker [autotag]Shadarius Toodle[/autotag]. They combine to help Auburn reach No. 1 in the recruiting rankings in that 2026 class.

4-star linebacker JaMichael Garrett commits to Auburn over LSU

The Tigers missed out on adding a top 120 prospect to their 2026 class after hosting JaMichael Garrett for a visit on Friday.

LSU has quite a bit of momentum on the recruiting trail, but it missed out on a player it was seen as something of a longshot to land.

Four-star 2026 Gulf Shores, Alabama, linebacker [autotag]JaMichael Garrett[/autotag] committed to Auburn over LSU on Saturday. AU was considered the heavy favorite to land the top 120 prospect nationally, though LSU did receive a crystal ball projection to land him on Friday following his visit to Baton Rouge from 247Sports’ Bryce Koon.

The Tigers hoped that visit would make a major impact, but just a day later, he announced that he was heading to the plains.

Garrett is a talented player who would have given LSU some nice momentum in the 2026 class, which currently features just two commits in defensive lineman [autotag]Richard Anderson[/autotag] and safety [autotag]Jakai Anderson[/autotag] (no relation).

Where does Auburn stand with LB JaMichael Garrett ahead of his commitment date?

The 2026 product is almost ready to announce his commitment. Is Auburn in position to close the deal?

Commitment date is looming for 2026 linebacker [autotag]JaMichael Garrett[/autotag], and Auburn is in a comfortable spot to land him.

In a recent interview with Chad Simmons of On3, Garrett says that he will announce his commitment “in the next two weeks or so.” Where does Auburn stand with Garrett ahead of his decision date? On3 is heavily leaning towards Auburn by giving them a 97.3% chance to earn his commitment while 247Sports has logged two crystal ball predictions in favor of the Tigers.

Garrett tells On3 that his relationships with defensive coordinator [autotag]DJ Durkin[/autotag], EDGE coach [autotag]Josh Aldridge[/autotag], and cornerbacks coach [autotag]Wesley McGriff[/autotag] are strong and he feels that they can push him to be great. For the program as a whole, Garrett says that Auburn reminds him of his high school program.

“The brotherhood at Auburn is different from anyone in the nation. It is like my high school team and everyone is close,” Garrett said. “It just feels good when I am there. Then the networking is great too. It is a great school to go to get set up for after football.”

LSU is the team to beat for Garrett’s commitment, but Auburn is the early favorite to land him. Garrett will have a busy week by visiting the Bayou on July 25 before making his way to the Plains for Big Cat Weekend beginning Friday. Much like 2025 safety Anquon Fegans, Garrett could commit to Auburn following a successful weekend visit.

Auburn earns prediction for LB JaMichael Garrett

In the deep midst of recruiting the 2025 class, Auburn football lands a prediction for 2026 linebacker JaMichael Garrett out of Gulf Shores

Auburn football is continuing to be a major competitor in the recruiting races to land some of the nation’s top players. While in the heat of the current 2025 cycle, the Tigers are now making moves on the 2026 class, looking to make an early statement.

This includes the race of four-star linebacker [autotag]JaMichael Garrett[/autotag], who received an expert prediction to land on the Plains by Jeffrey Lee from Auburn Live.

Garrett is from Gulf Shores High School (Ala.) and recently made his visit to Auburn in early June. He helped lead the Dolphins to a Class 5A state championship in 2023, looking to do the same in 2024.

The Tigers have been competing with both LSU and Ole Miss to land Garrett, but they are currently the clear frontrunner in this race. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine puts Auburn at a 97.3% chance to land his commitment.

The 6-2, 200-pound product is currently ranked as the No. 125 player and No. 11 linebacker in the nation according to the On3 industry ranking. He is also the No. 8 player in the state of Alabama.

A commitment from Garrett would be the third in the Tigers’ 2026 class. He would join the likes of wide receiver [autotag]Denairius Gray[/autotag] and offensive lineman [autotag]Kail Ellis[/autotag], being another four-star recruit in the group.

Four-star LB JaMichael Garrett to visit Auburn on Sunday

Auburn will close an exciting weekend by hosting Alabama’s No. 8 recruit from the 2026 class.

Auburn football’s weekend has become much more interesting.

Six of Auburn’s top 2025 targets are in town this weekend for official visits, and one of Alabama’s top 2026 recruits is set to join them on Sunday. [autotag]JaMichael Garrett[/autotag], a four-star linebacker from Gulf Shores High School (Alabama) shared on X (formerly Twitter) Friday night that he will close out the weekend by visiting the Plains.

Garrett played an instrumental role in Gulf Shores’ class 5A state championship run in 2023 by recording 87 tackles with 26.5 registered for a loss. He also recorded 9.5 sacks last season, which tied the team lead.

Auburn is the early front runner to land Garrett according to experts from 247Sports and On3. 247Sports’ Christian Clemente submitted a “crystal ball prediction” in favor of Auburn in March, and the Tigers have a 95% chance to earn his pledge according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Following a visit in March, Garrett told On3’s Cole Pinkston that he was impressed with Auburn’s facilities, and could see himself in an Auburn uniform. The biggest takeaway from Garrett’s trip was his conversation with linebackers coach [autotag]Josh Aldridge[/autotag].

“The meeting I just had with Coach Aldridge,” Garrett said in an interview with On3. “Him letting me and my mom know how interested they are in me. He just let me know they’re only recruiting three guys in my class that they have offered. He said they think I could come in and start as a freshman.”

All four major recruiting outlets have ranked Garrett as a four-star linebacker from the 2026 class. He is a top-15 linebacker nationally, ranking as high as No. 9 by ESPN and 247Sports. On3 and 247Sports lists Garrett as the No. 8 recruit from Alabama for the 2026 cycle.
