Gators hosting 2024 in-state OL for another game day visit

Florida is getting this in-state offensive lineman back on campus for the South Carolina game on Nov. 12.

Florida has its eye on Ponte Vedra offensive lineman [autotag]Jake Guarnera[/autotag], a top-30 interior offensive lineman in the class of 2024, and he should return to Gainesville over the weekend of Nov. 11 for UF’s matchup with South Carolina, according to Gators Online.

Guarnera has been on campus a few times this year, but he most recently visited the Swamp for the team’s season opener against Utah. He enjoyed the game-day atmosphere and liked what he saw from Florida’s offensive line. Offensive coordinator and offensive line coach [autotag]Rob Sale[/autotag] is one of Guarnera’s primary contacts at the university, so there’s a good relationship developing there already, too.

If Guarnera can make it happen, he’d like to decide by July. That still leaves eight months for Florida to duke it out with the other Power Five programs interested in him, but two game-day visits are a nice start to build on. Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Penn State and Wake Forest are a few of the schools interested in him, but Florida’s biggest competition may be North Carolina State at the moment.

Guarnera is a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports, On3 and Rivals, but ESPN pegs him as a four-star talent. ESPN lists him as the No. 249 overall recruit in the class and at No. 10 among interior offensive linemen. The On3 consensus, which equally weights all four major services, slots him at No. 355 nationally and No. 26 in his position group.

2024 4-star OL to attend Florida’s season opener against Utah

2024 OL recruit Jake Guarnera will be in attendance for Florida’s season opener vs Utah.

Jake Guarnera, a 4-star OL recruit from Ponte Vedra, Florida, told Gators Online that he will be attending the Gators’ season opener against the Utah Utes on September 4.

The 6-foot-4-inch, 290-pound recruit recently attended a camp in Gainesville where Florida coaches got an up close look at the riding junior and offered him just one week later. This camp visit was the second time the new Florida staff got to know Guarenera, as he attended the Orange and Blue game in the spring as well.

Guarenera is currently listed as a top 20 player at his position nationally and a top-45 player in the state of Florida, regardless of position, according to the On3 consensus player rankings system. In addition to Florida, he currently fields offers from programs such as Penn State, Florida State, NC State, Virginia, among others.

While Guarenera hasn’t made a list of final schools yet, the Gators seem to be a major player in his recruitment. Gameday atmosphere and Florida’s upcoming facilities upgrade seem to be big factors for Guarenera in his decision, making a 7 p.m. EDT kickoff in the Swamp the perfect sample of the environment Guarenera will potentially play in.

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, NC State currently holds an advantage in Guarenera’s recruitment, with Florida State, Florida, and Penn State still in the mix.

Rutgers football recruiting: Jake Guarnera gets first SEC offer, racks up multiple ACC offers in June

Jake Guarnera, Rutgers football legacy, offered by SEC program Florida.

Jake Guarnera got his first SEC offer on Monday, the class of 2024 offensive lineman getting an offer from Florida.

Guarnera projects to be one of the top offensive linemen in the nation in the 2024 recruiting class. After his freshman season, Guanera played in the Football University Freshman All-American Bowl.

His father was Jim Guarnera, who played for Rutgers in the 1990s as a defensive lineman. Guarnera was offered by Rutgers football in late May.

Since then, he has been offered by North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Florida State and Virginia. Now this week, he has pulled in an offer from Florida.

Florida is his first SEC offer.

He has taken recent visits to South Carolina and Alabama. Then in late June, he will be at Penn State followed by a trip to Rutgers.

He does have an offer from Penn State.

“One of the kids that is local is committed there, Marcus Stokes,” Guarnera told RutgersWire last month.

“I also love that they have a great fan base and huge stadium. They also are a great team and coach Franklin signed a deal that would make him the coach for my full college career.”

Rutgers football legacy Jake Guarnera gets an offer from the Big Ten program

Rutgers football offers Jake Guarnera, whose father played for the Scarlet Knights.

The latest Rutgers football offer went out to Florida offensive lineman Jake Guarnera this week, a player with ties to the Big Ten university.

A class of 2024 offensive lineman from Ponte Vedra High School (Ponte Vedra, FL), Guarnera is a 6-foot-4, 275-pound offensive lineman. Rutgers is his second Power Five offer and second offer from a Big Ten program.

Penn State football offered Guarnera earlier this year.

His three current offers now stand at Penn State, Rutgers and South Florida. The Bulls offered him in mid-May.

He also plays baseball where he pitches and also lines up at first base, third base, catcher and outfield.

On the football field, Ponte Vedra went 4-6 last season.
