Alabama extends offer to LSU commit, 2025 3-star LB Jaiden Braker

Soon after five-star linebacker Ty Jackson committed to USC, the Alabama coaching staff extended an offer to 2025 three-star linebacker Jaiden Braker.

The Alabama coaching staff wasted no time identifying a linebacker target in the 2025 class following five-star Ty Jackson’s decision to commit to the USC Trojans. On Sunday, the Crimson Tide extended an offer to 2025 three-star linebacker and LSU Tigers commit Jaiden Braker.

Braker was in Tuscaloosa over the weekend on an unofficial visit. It was his first trip to the Capstone. There is a good chance that Braker will return for another game before the end of the season.

Before Braker committed to LSU, he was committed to South Carolina. The Georgia native was committed to the Gamecocks for just 25 days before flipping his commitment to the Bayou Bengals.

At 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, Braker will need to add some muscle before arriving in college. As a junior, Braker played in nine games. He recorded 48 tackles and four tackles for loss. Through the first three games of his senior season, Braker has tallied 19 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks.

Given the fact that Alabama has very few targets remaining at the linebacker position, I would expect the coaching staff to amp up their pursuit of Braker. He could return to Tuscaloosa as soon as the Georgia game, which is on September 28. Needless to say, he will be a recruit to monitor for Alabama fans moving forward.

LSU a winner on the recruiting trail in the month of July

After a slow start to the summer, LSU kicked things into high gear during July.

As the calendar turns to August and LSU prepares to begin fall camp ahead of the 2024 season, it has quite a bit of momentum on the recruiting trail.

After a slow start to the summer that saw the Tigers lose a couple of top-100 commitments, it was a big July as coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and staff landed a handful of top targets headlined by five-star cornerback [autotag]DJ Pickett[/autotag], five-star receiver [autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag] and top-100 EDGE [autotag]Damien Shanklin[/autotag].

It also ended the month with a flip on Wednesday, landing former South Carolina linebacker commit [autotag]Jaiden Braker[/autotag].

On3 broke down its recruiting winners from the month of July, and it should be no surprise that LSU found itself on the list.

Brian Kelly and his staff again proved their recruiting chops, beating out the longtime perceived favorites for a number of key additions. None were bigger than Five-Star Plus+ cornerback DJ Pickett — thought to be headed to Oregon until the 11th hour. A top-five prospect nationally, Pickett is a monstrous addition for the Tigers’ secondary group going forward.

Three days after that, the Bayou Bengals beat out Notre Dame for elite wide receiver Derek Meadows, adding a huge piece for Five-Star Plus+ QB Bryce Underwood on offense. Those two were the headliners, but Kelly and Co. rounded things out with top-100 EDGE, Damien Shanklin, On3 top-100 defensive lineman Zion Williams, four-star DL Brandon Brown, On300 safety Jhase Thomas, and three-star linebacker Jaiden Braker.

LSU’s class currently ranks third nationally, and it could push for an even higher spot as it’s still in the mix for some top prospects such as five-star safety [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag], who it is currently trending for.

LSU flips 3-star linebacker Jaiden Braker from South Carolina

LSU completed its flip of Jaiden Braker, who visited for Bayou Splash and picked up an offer on Friday.

LSU added to its 2025 recruiting class on Wednesday by flipping a three-star linebacker from SEC foe South Carolina.

[autotag]Jaiden Braker[/autotag], a native of Snellville, Georgia, took an unofficial visit to LSU over the weekend for Bayou Splash and saw several projections to flip to the Tigers in the days that followed. On Wednesday, he made his commitment to LSU official.

Braker ranks as the No. 684 player nationally and is the No. 74 linebacker. He committed to South Carolina earlier this month on July 6, but he picked up an LSU offer during his visit, which seems to have changed things for him.

Braker’s commitment doesn’t move the needle for LSU in the recruiting rankings, but it adds another piece to a class that ranks No. 3 nationally according to both On3 and 247Sports.

Kentucky football will get a visit from three-star linebacker Jaiden Braker

After getting an offer from the Wildcats, three-star linebacker Jaiden Braker will visit Kentucky football in June.

Kentucky’s 2025 recruiting class got a bump with the recent addition of safety Martels Carter. That pushed the Wildcats class into the top 25, but they’re still working on adding more talent. Linebacker Jaiden Braker is a player they’re working on signing.

Braker is a 6’4″, 210 lb linebacker from Georgia, and rated three-stars by 247sports. They rank him as the 68th best linebacker in the 2025 class.
