Jae Crowder hilariously wore a ‘[Expletive] Jae Crowder’ shirt after eliminating the Pelicans

HA!

Jae Crowder had the last laugh when it came to New Orleans Pelicans fans who were ripping him.

A few fans with “F— Jae Crowder” shirts showed up to the Smoothie King Center, hoping to see if the Pels could take down the Phoenix Suns in Game 6 of their series on Thursday. The Suns caught wind of it … and purchased a few.

And after Chris Paul’s perfect night from the field and a series win, some of the Suns donned the shirts.

Including … Jae Crowder!

So let’s run through how this all went down, starting with the shirts that popped up:

Then, the acquisition:

And how it ended:

Karl-Anthony Towns absolutely embarrassed Jae Crowder with a savage dunk against the Suns

Those gorilla videos must’ve really done something to KAT.

I have no idea what has gotten into Karl-Anthony Towns lately. This is not the same player Jimmy Butler once said was as soft as baby [expletive].

One week he’s pantomiming looking for a breeze in the arena when Russell Westbrook shoots an airball. The next week he’s absolutely destroying Jae Crowder with one of the best dunks you’ll see all season.

Oh, you haven’t seen that one yet? Let me help you out here.

Towns was coming down the lane after beating his man off the dribble. Like the solid defender he is, Crowder stepped over to try and take the charge. But then, upon realizing who was coming down the lane, he bailed out at the last moment and tried to back away.

He couldn’t. Dunk. And-one. Embarrassment. That’s what happened after that. But what made matters worse there was Towns literally clapping in Crowder’s face after the poster. Like, he’s just rubbing it in on dude.

He’s literally telling everyone that he’s in Crowder’s head. It was incredible.

Just incredibly savage, man. Maybe watching those gorilla videos did actually help KAT out because, uh, he wasn’t like this before.

Crowder got the last laugh in the end because the Suns got the win. But all anyone is going to remember from this game is the Towns dunk and the moments that followed it.

People were so surprised.

Jae Crowder’s courtside dive nearly took pop star Jojo Siwa out during the Suns-Lakers game

The body control here is insane.

We should really ban courtside seats at some point. It’s long overdue.

Case in point: Jae Crowder nearly dove directly into Jojo Siwa out on Tuesday night during the Lakers’ game while going for a loose ball. The way he somehow miraculously avoided Jojo Siwa after diving for a loose ball against the Lakers was incredible.

He was running toward the sideline full-speed and getting ready to dive for the ball when, all of a sudden, there were people. Right there. And one of them was Jojo Siwa.

To Siwa’s credit, she reacted pretty quickly and slid slightly out of the way. But Crowder is a big dude, man. At least relative to regular folks, anyway. They could’ve both been flying into the crowd had he not avoided her.

Luckily, he did. And all of the pre-teens around the world breathed a quick sigh of relief.

But look at how close it was! This is super dangerous.

Everyone was OK, though, so it’s all good. Plus the Suns managed to have a little bit of fun with this moment after the fact.

On this day: Rondo traded for Crowder; most team assists in ’85

On this day, the Celtics traded Rajon Rondo to the Mavericks for Jae Crowder, and Boston logged 46 assists against Dallas, their most ever.

On this day in Boston Celtics history, the storied franchise traded champion point guard Rajon Rondo and center Dwight Powell to the Dallas Mavericks in 2014 in exchange for small forward Jae Crowder, point guard Jameer Nelson, big man Brandan Wright, draft assets, and a $13 million trade exception.

The move finally brought to an end the last remaining player from the team’s 2008 NBA title’s tenure with the franchise, Rondo having been with the Celtics since the Phoenix Suns drafted him out of Kentucky with the 21st overall pick of the 2006 NBA draft and dealt him to Boston on draft night.

Powell was a more recent arrival, having come over in the deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers for Keith Bogans in September of that year.

Every player in Boston Celtics history who wore No. 99

This is every player in Boston’s history who wore the Celtics’ No. 99 jersey for at least one game.

The Boston Celtics have more retired jerseys than any other team in the NBA, but that doesn’t mean the rest of their jerseys have little history of interest tied to them.

In fact, with 17 titles to their name and decades of competitive basketball played in them, their unretired jersey numbers pack in some of the most history not hanging from the rafters of any team in the league. To that end, we have launched our accounting of that history, with every player in every jersey worn by more than one Celtics player in the storied franchise’s history accounted for.

Today’s installment focuses on No. 99 over the years.

On this day: Boston forward Jae Crowder born; guard Allan Ray signed

On this day in 1990, former Boston Celtics small forward Jae Crowder was born, and ex-Boston guard Allan Ray was signed in 2006.

On this day in Boston Celtics history, small forward Jae Crowder was born in Villa Rica, Georgia, in 1990 to former NBA player Corey Crowder and his wife, Helen Thompson.

Crowder went on to play his college ball at Marquette University in the Big East Conference after stints at Howard University and South Georgia Tech.

From there, the Georgia native was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks with the 34th pick of the 2012 NBA draft. The former Golden Eagle came to Boston in a 2014 trade with the Mavericks along with Jameer Nelson and Brandan Wright in exchange for Dwight Powell and Rajon Rondo.

Crowder played three seasons with the Celtics, averaging 12.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game while with the team.

With the Los Angeles Clippers eliminated, which Celtics alumni are still in the 2021 NBA Playoffs?

There may not be any current Celtics in the postseason, but four Boston alumni could still win a ring.

While the Boston Celtics are no longer in title contention, there are still Celtics alumni in the running for a ring in the 2021 NBA Playoffs. But, the field of former Boston players still playing ball just took a hit with the elimination of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Old friends Rajan Rondo and Marcus Morris Sr. won’t be picking up a ring this year, but four former Celtics on two of the three remaining teams could still earn themselves the league’s most important hardware. With no Boston alumni on the Atlanta Hawks, that means if a former Celtic is going to help hand a banner this season, it’ll be with either the Milwaukee Bucks or the Phoenix Suns.

Let’s take a look at which Boston alumni might be celebrating at the end of July.

Every angle of Deandre Ayton’s incredible buzzer-beating alley-oop finish

What an unbelievable play.

I don’t think you can end a game in a more spectacular fashion.

There was literally less than a second left when Jae Crowder threw the game-winning alley-oop pass to Deandre Ayton and what a pass it was.

The angle was tough. DeMarcus Cousins was standing there staring him in the face with his arms waving. Crowder had to throw it to the precise spot to give Ayton an actual chance to get the ball and finish over the defense. Not to mention Ivica Zubac was running with him stride for stride until he got crushed by a screen from Devin Booker (!!!!!).

This play was just incredible — probably the best one of the playoffs so far. So let’s do it justice and take a look at it from every possible angle.

Starting here.

Jae Crowder’s reaction to LeBron James complaining about a hard foul became a funny meme

This reaction was too good.

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers were looking to take control in their series with the Phoenix Suns in Game 4 on Sunday but instead they lost the game at home to make things all even at 2-2 and they lost Anthony Davis, who missed the second half with a strained left groin.

So yeah, not the best of Sundays for the defending champs.

The Suns, though, had some fun on the road as they dominated the second half and held on for the 100-92 win.

Jae Crowder’s funny reaction to LeBron complaining about a hard foul by Crowder with five minutes left in the fourth quickly became a meme because, well, look at this reaction:

Too good.

Too be fair, though, this looked like a flagrant foul but the refs didn’t even review it:

Twitter had fun with Crowder’s reaction:

NBA world reacts to LeBron James smiling when guarded by Jae Crowder

Take a look at some of the best reactions after LeBron James began smiling when guarded by Jae Crowder and scoring.

Game 3 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns had some fun moments in the second half after a slow first half for both teams.

LeBron James, in particular, came out in the second half with the aggression the Lakers sorely needed.

He kept looking to attack the basket, showing the burst when driving that wasn’t present in the opening half. James had only scored five points on 2-of-6 shooting.

But he gained momentum in the third quarter and exhibited the emotion Lakers’ fans have been waiting to see when the game got intense.

On one possession, James matched up in the post against Jae Crowder, who exchanged words with the Lakers all night, and a smile formed on his face when Crowder got into his defensive stance.

James backed Crowder down, spun away from him and finished a reverse layup that saw Staples Center, and the NBA world, erupt.

Take a look at some of the best reactions from that play:
