This massive cross-sport parlay made one bettor so much money

The first result was in April and the ticket just cashed out in June.

That’s exactly what Instagram user @dpargs did with an incredible five-sport parlay that spanned three different months before being decided. And it was absolutely worth the wait, as he turned $100 into more than $19,000, according to FanDuel.

It all started April 24 with two simple moneyline bets — one on an English Premier League match between Liverpool and Everton and the other on an MLB game between the Giants and Nationals. A few additional results later, including both NBA conference winners and both French Open singles winners, the bet cashed out when the Colorado Avalanche clinched the NHL’s Western Conference title on Monday.

Surely, dpargs had ample opportunities to cash out earlier for a smaller sum. But his patience was rewarded with a small salary. Now, if we can get him to teach the rest of us his ways.

The NBA has new Conference Finals MVP trophies and, no, that’s not a weird thing

Conference Finals MVPs are very cool and not weird.

The NBA unveiled new looks at six new playoff trophies the league will be dishing out this year through the NBA Conference Finals and Finals.

They’ve revamped the Larry O’Brien championship trophy, the Bill Russell Finals MVP trophies and both of the Conference Championship trophies for teams to take home. The Conference Championship trophies are now named after Bob Cousy in the East and Oscar Robertson in the West.

Along with that, they’ve also added two new trophies to the mix β€” the Larry Bird and Magic Johnson Conference Finals MVP trophies.

Yes, you read that right. There are Conference Finals MVP trophies now.

Before we get into that, here’s a look at the new mix of trophies the league has now. They look pretty sleek.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Wait a minute. This is weird. Is this a ploy to finally get Steph Curry some sort of Finals MVP trophy.” But no! That’s not it at all. This is a serious thing that Curry β€” and everyone else! β€” will have a shot at winning.
