Alabama Basketball: 2022-2023 SEC schedule rotation

Alabama MBB 2022-2023 schedule rotations announced

The Alabama Men’s Basketball team has received their schedule rotation for the 2022-23 SEC season. The rotation will include nine games at Coleman Colosseum and nine games on the road. Some of the marquee matchups on the schedule are home and away’s with both Arkansas and Auburn as well as at Tennessee, and hosting both Florida and Kentucky.

The Tide finished the 2021-22 campaign going 9-9 in the conference, which was good for a sixth-place finish. They were then knocked out of the SEC tournament by Vanderbilt in the first round and lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament to Notre Dame. A disappointing end to what was a very promising season at one point.

The Tide does look to bounce back this year with a much deeper tournament run and more consistent play. [autotag]JD Davison[/autotag], [autotag]Jaden Shackelford[/autotag], [autotag]Keon Ellis[/autotag], and a few others are gone so the team we see in 2022 will be all new faces with the exception of [autotag]Jahvon Quinerly[/autotag].

Nate Oats and his squad have been recruiting incredibly well and the boys are ready for a massive 2022-23 campaign.

Alabama and Gonzaga meet again, but in Birmingham this time

Alabama and Gonzaga headlines top out of conference NCAAM games this year

Last year the sixteenth ranked Alabama Crimson Tide and [autotag]Nate Oats[/autotag] went out to the ‘Battle in Seattle’ to take on third ranked, and the title favorites, Gonzaga Bulldogs in their home state of Washington. Gonzaga was lead by likely first overall pick Chet Holmgren, however, that didn’t stop the Tide as they took down the Bulldogs 91-82 behind a massive [autotag]Jaden Shackelford[/autotag] performance.

The Dec. 4, 2021 meeting between the two programs was the first ever match-up, and came on the same day as [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and company defeated the Georgia Bulldogs to win the SEC Championship. A day that will forever live in Alabama galore.

Now, Gonzaga will be traveling to Birmingham on Dec. 17 to take on the Tide in Alabama’s backyard. Gonzaga returns a large majority of their line up, and will likely be a top five team to start the season once again. Alabama will have a massive chance to gain a marquee win in their home state early on in the season.

Alabama Basketball: Jaden Shackelford works out for LA Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers work out the former Alabama star!

Former Alabama guard [autotag]Jaden Shackelford[/autotag] worked out with the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday as he gets prepared for the 2022 NBA Draft.

Shackelford was a star for the Crimson Tide as he was a day-one starter as a true freshman and contributed immediately averaging 15 points a game. He declared after his junior year in which he was good for 16.6 points 1.5 assists 5.4 rebounds, and was a career 40% shooter from the field.

The Los Angeles Lakers have really struggled with guard playing during the past couple of years and they are doing their due diligence on the second team All-SEC guard. The Lakers have also struggled mightily behind the arc, and Shackelford would be an immediate solution to those woes.

The draft will take place on June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
