Arkansas football commit receives praise from former All-Pro NFL cornerback

Jaden Allen, an Arkansas football commit for 2024, received a glowing endorsement from a former All-Pro NFL cornerback on Tuesday.

[autotag]Jaden Allen[/autotag] may not be Arkansas football’s highest rated commitment in the 2024 recruiting class, but he caught the attention of one former All-Pro NFL cornerback.

Antonio Cromartie, who spent 11 seasons in the NFL and was selected to four Pro Bowls, took to Twitter on Tuesday to share how impressed he was with the future Razorback defensive back. “Listen Razorback football y’all have a special kid,” Cromartie’s tweet read. “He can play anywhere in the secondary!!! His mindset will set him apart from the rest!!! Freakish Athleticism!!!”

Cromartie’s tweet was in response to Allen’s announcement that he would be back in Fayetteville visiting on July 29th. Allen committed to Arkansas on April 21 of this year and chose the Razorbacks over the likes of Alabama, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, USC, Michigan State and others.

Allen is currently a consensus three-star recruit according to 247Sports.com but is rated as a four-star by Rivals.com.

While it may be a year before we get to see Allen in an Arkansas uniform, it’s very exciting to see him getting high praise from such a decorated former NFL cornerback like Antonio Cromartie.

Recruiting Roundup: 4 new players for Arkansas among weekend commitments

Nobody made out better than the Arkansas Razorbacks, who managed to add four new defensive recruits.

Power Five programs had an appetite for defense over the weekend, as most of the prospects who made their college commitments play on that side of the ball. LSU added another four-star safety to their collection and Clemson picked up another blue-chip DL. Meanwhile, Alabama and Oklahoma also added four-star prospects of their own.

Nebraska got the biggest name with former NFL running back Willis McGahee’s son. However, nobody made out better than the Arkansas Razorbacks, who managed to add four new recruits. Here’s a review of some notable weekend college commitments.

Arkansas lands four-star CB Jaden Allen for 2024

Arkansas added another four-star commit from the 2024 recruiting class, and they are likely to add to that very soon.

Four-star cornerback [autotag]Jaden Allen[/autotag] has officially committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Allen made his decision official on Twitter Friday morning, choosing Arkansas over Alabama, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, USC, Michigan State and others. He was initially committed to Texas for over a year before decommitting from the Longhorns in February.

Arkansas was reportedly the first team to reach out to Allen after his de-commitment, and that played a role in getting him to Fayetteville.

Allen’s commitment to the Hogs makes him the sixth of the 2024 recruiting cycle. He is also the fifth commit to hold a four-star rating from one of the four major recruiting outlets.

Next year’s recruiting class is shaping up to be an impressive haul for [autotag]Sam Pittman[/autotag] and they’re expected to get more commits on Friday in the form of Charleston Collins and Courtney Crutchfield.

2024 four-star DB Jaden Allen decommits from Texas

Texas loses a four-star from the class of 2024.

Four-star defensive back Jaden Allen has backed off his commitment from Texas. Instead, Allen is reopening his recruitment with offers from Alabama, LSU and others.

247Sports composite rankings list Allen as the No. 18 cornerback and one of the top 300 players in the nation for the 2024 cycle. Allen is an excellent athlete, starring on both the football field and the track.

Allen is the younger brother of Texas sophomore defensive back B.J. Allen. He helped guide Aledo to a 5A Texas High School State Championship victory this season as a junior in 2022.

Alabama and USC have been pushing Allen in recent weeks. Expect Texas to keep pursuing Allen as the process plays out.

Texas’ 2024 class currently stands with three-star quarterback commit Trey Owens and four-star athlete Hunter Moddon. Steve Sarkisian and his staff are looking to build another top-five class.

Alabama offers 2024 CB, Texas commit Jaden Allen

Could Alabama get the 4-star CB to flip his commitment away from Texas?

Alabama’s coaching staff has already begun to offer prospects from future recruiting classes. The latest offer to note was extended to 2024 cornerback and Texas commit Jaden Allen.

Allen plays cornerback for Aledo High School in Aledo, Texas. Interestingly enough, that is the same school that Jase McClellan played for during his high school career.

His older brother, Bryan, plays safety for Texas. That certainly makes his recruitment more intriguing down the stretch. However, the Tide will try their best to pry him away from the Lonestar state. He has been a Longhorns commit since December of 2021.

How Longhorn commits fared at the 2022 Texas state championships

Five Texas commits won state championships over the weekend.

The 2022 UIL Texas state championships wrapped up over the weekend after some exciting games.

Texas was well represented with five commits participating in the action.

  • 2023 CB Malik Muhammad (South Oak Cliff)
  • 2023 LB Billy Walton (South Oak Cliff)
  • 2023 WR Johntay Cook (DeSoto)
  • 2023 RB Tre Wisner (DeSoto)
  • 2024 DB Jaden Allen (Aledo)

Muhammad and Walton anchored a strong defensive performance to guide South Oak Cliff to its second straight state title. Muhammad took home defensive MVP after hauling in a crucial pick-six to ice the game.

Aledo continued its run of dominance with a 52-14 victory over College Station. Allen had four tackles and a pass breakup in the win.

DeSoto capped off the weekend with a 42-17 win over Austin Vandergrift. The dynamic duo of Johntay Cook and Tre Wisner was a force from start to finish.

Here is a look at some of the highlights from the future Longhorns in the Texas state titles games.

Texas lands commitment from 2024 four-star Jaden Allen

BOOM! Texas just landed their first commitment of the 2024 class.

It may be a long ways away, but Texas has added their first commit for the class of 2024, and it is somewhat of a legacy commit.

Four-star athlete Jaden Allen, the younger brother of current Texas signee safety Bryan Allen, took to Twitter to announce that he will be teaming up with bis brother and committing to Texas.

The younger Allen made his presence felt as a defensive back, and is projected by major recruited sites to play defensive back at the next level, contrary to his commit picture, which lists him as a receiver. In 13 games this past season he accumulated 28 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, and two interceptions.

Allen is currently a tad undersized at 5-foot-9 150, but still has room to fill out his frame, as he is just a sophomore in high school at the moment.

He chose to commit to Texas over schools such as Mississippi State, Jackson State, and LSU.
