Elite Pennsylvania running back has Notre Dame in top 9

Notre Dame is looking to add a second back to the 2022 class

Although Notre Dame just recently received a commitment from Texas running back Jadarian Price, it seems like Brian Kelly and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees would like to add another ball carrier to the class.

Pennsylvania running back Nicholas Singleton dropped his final 9 schools yesterday, with the Irish squarely in the mix.

It’s going to be another difficult challenge to garner a commitment from Singleton, the schools he’s considering are among the best in the country. The six-foot and 210-pound ball carrier is a considered one of the best players in the country regardless of position.

Singleton has scheduled an official visit to Penn State in early June, but we will see if that actually happens. As of right now the NCAA’s dead period is set to end on April 15th, but who knows if they’ll extend it once again. If it isn’t pushed back, expect the Irish to push hard to get Singleton on campus.

Notre Dame in top 5 for Ohio 2022 running back

The next cut has been made for Gi’Bran Payne and Notre Dame has been included in this top 5.

The Irish are already off to a fast start in their 2022 recruiting class efforts, with 7 commits already in the fold and an early top 10 national ranking for the group. Brian Kelly and his staff aren’t being complacent and heard some good news from one of the best running back in the nation, Ohio’s Gi’Bran Payne.

Only two schools were dropped off in Payne’s recent update, Michigan and Purdue on the Cincinnati’s natives list. Although defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman won’t be coaching him, you have to expect that he is helping in the efforts to land Payne.

Payne has a very well-rounded game, he’s as much of a threat in the passing game as he is running the ball.

The Irish just got a commitment from Jadarian Price a week ago, but that hasn’t stopped them from continuing to recruit Payne. It does seem like the staff will take 2 backs this cycle and Payne certainly fits what Notre Dame is looking for.

Notre Dame football: Recruiting overview of 2/19-2/21/21’s action

A wrap up of the recruiting action from this past weekend for Notre Dame football.

Scouts view: ‘22 Notre Dame running back commit Jadarian Price

Our resident scout takes a look at the most recent Notre Dame football commit, Texas running back Jadarian Price.

The state of Texas is always loaded with high school talent and yesterday the Irish dipped into the talent pool and gained a commitment from running back Jadarian Price.

The five-foot-eleven-inch and 185-pound back held the Notre Dame offer for less than a month before pulling the trigger to join the 2022 Irish recruiting class.

Here is what to expect from Price when he arrives in South Bend:

The first thing that is noticeable in Price’s game is his running style, he’s a North/South runner who picks his lanes well and has the speed to exploit those holes. An ability to put his foot in the ground and turn up the field, Price has one cut and go in his game. There isn’t too much wiggle to what Price brings to the table, but he shows enough in that area where it won’t be a hinderance to his game.

When Price is looking for a hole he baits defenders running at a slower speed, then turns on the jets to hit the opening. Arm tackles won’t bring him down, showing his strength at the position. Price also has good hands out of the backfield, defenses have to be aware of him as a threat out of the backfield.

The Irish beat out schools like Ohio State, USC and Auburn for Price’s services, a big recruiting pull from the Lone Star state.

Running Back Recruit Jadarian Price Commits to Notre Dame

It appears Notre Dame might have its heir apparent to Kyren Williams, or at least an option for when the time comes.

It appears Notre Dame might have its heir apparent to Kyren Williams, or at least an option for when the time comes. His name is Jadarian Price, and he hails from Denison, Texas. He made the announcement Sunday, a special day for his mother:

Notre Dame clearly has been on Price’s mind for a while. In a previous interview with BlueandGold.com, he talked about the opportunities he could get with the program and the university:

“The education I can get from Notre Dame is unmatched. I am building great relationships with the coaching staff too. My relationship with running backs coach Lance Taylor has continued to grow.”

Per Rivals, Price was planning to visit the university during the past week, but bad weather prevented him from traveling. Fortunately for the Irish, that didn’t matter. Perhaps what best sold him on Notre Dame was its strong academic reputation, which is a major plus for someone with a 4.1 GPA. Sometimes, the glove simply fits effortlessly.
