The Indianapolis Colts (3-2-1) visit Nissan Stadium Sunday to face the Tennessee Titans (3-2). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Colts vs. Titans odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

Last week, the Colts beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-27 as 1-point favorites. They started slow, trailing 21-19 after 3 quarters, but outscored the Jaguars 15 to 6 in the final quarter. QB Matt Ryan‘s play helped make up for the absence of RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle). Ryan threw for 389 yards and 3 touchdowns, completing 42 of 58 pass attempts. His top receiver was WR Michael Pittman Jr., who had 13 receptions for 134 yards. Seven receivers who caught a ball from Ryan had at least 3 receptions each. The defense finished with 4 sacks and forced a fumble in the win.

The Titans are coming off a bye week, previously winning at the Washington Commanders 21-17 in Week 5. In that game, RB Derrick Henry had 28 carries for 102 yards and 2 TDs, while QB Ryan Tannehill went 15 of 25 for 181 passing yards and a TD. Seven Titans had at least 1 reception. Tennessee was outgained in total yards 385 to 241, but Henry proved to be the X-factor. The defense had 3 sacks and forced an interception in the victory. Expect the Titans’to utilize Henry just as much Sunday coming off of a week of rest.

Colts at Titans picks and predictions

Prediction

Titans 20, Colts 17

Moneyline

TAKE THE TITANS (-140).

Coming off a bye week, expect Tennessee to be at full strength, giving Henry the necessary rest to continue his dominant season thus far. Coach Mike Vrabel will have the team ready to compete at home against a Colts squad that has yet to prove itself.

Against the spread

LEAN TITANS -2.5 (-117).

Scoring 92% of the time they are in the red zone and only giving up points 50% of the time the opposing offense is in the red zone is a recipe for success for the Titans. With offensive weapons in WR Robert Woods and Henry, they have the ability to get into scoring range quickly. Barring a massive game in Taylor’s return from injury, lean Titans ATS.

Furthermore, the Titans are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games in October and the favorite is 14-6 ATS in these teams’ last 20 meetings. The Colts are also 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings between these two.

Over/Under

Bet the UNDER 42.5 (-112).

All the trends in this one point toward taking the Under.

The Under is 6-0 in the Colts’ last 6 road games, 4-0 in their last 4 on grass, and 4-0 in their last 4 against a team with a winning record.

For the Titans, the Under is 8-1 in their last 9 games on grass and 4-0 in their last 4 games following a straight-up win.

The Under is 5-1 for the Colts this season and 3-2 for the Titans. Expect a run-heavy game between Taylor and Henry which will accumulate to the clock ticking away constantly.

NFL Week 3 Can’t-Miss Parlay: 3 bets you can count on

Assessing the NFL betting odds and lines for Week 3, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

Week 3 offers some intriguing NFL matchups. The 2-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the 2-0 Los Angeles Rams, two AFC West young guns renew their rivalry as QBs Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs host Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers, and Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers will try to spoil the 2-0 San Francisco 49ers’ home opener on Sunday Night Football.

However, those high-profile games often don’t offer the best values on the NFL board. That in mind, here goes with our can’t-miss Week 3 parlay.

Leg 1: Chicago Bears at Cleveland Browns UNDER 44.5 (-112)

Points come out of the passing game in the NFL, and so this matchup of two top-10 rushing attacks butting heads against two top-10 rush defenses sets up nicely for a low-scoring scrum.

Throw in rookie Bears QB Justin Fields making his first pro start, that start coming on the road and a Browns’ aerial game featuring absent Jarvis Landry (injured reserve) and still-on-the-mend Odell Beckham Jr., and the UNDER 44.5 (-112) is the play.

Leg 2: Tennessee Titans -4.5 (-108) vs. Indianapolis Colts

The two teams that have been the class of the AFC South in recent seasons, and you’d figure they would have a recent history of close contests.

But that’s not the case.

Eight of the last 10 head-to-head meetings were decided by at least a touchdown with an average margin of victory of 12.9 points.
Given Indy QB Carson Wentz‘s injury issues and the worrisome depth behind him, Tennessee is the better (and healthier) team at this time.

So go ahead and lay the number here and bank on a comfortable TITANS -4.5 (-108) win at home.

Leg 3: Las Vegas Raiders ML (-180) vs. Miami Dolphins

Miami is another team with QB injury issues early in the season as starter Tua Tagovailoa is out with fractured ribs. Jacoby Brissett takes over, but he’s not quite at the level of Ryan Fitzpatrick who replaced a struggling Tua in Week 16 last season and led the Dolphins to a miraculous, 26-25 comeback win in Vegas.

This is a 2-0 Silver & Black squad, though, that looks to be more talented and focused than the collapsing version that finished 2020 on a 2-5 tumble.
The Miami pass defense is formidable, however, and the field-goal-plus-a-hook line is always daunting for the favorite in a tight matchup.

So, take the home team on the money line and cash in on some RAIDERS (-180) revenge Sunday afternoon in the desert.

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing the Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans Week 3 odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Indianapolis Colts (0-2) meet the AFC South rival Tennessee Titans (1-1) Sunday for a Week 3 showdown at Nissan Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Colts vs. Titans odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Indianapolis lost to the Los Angeles Rams 27-24 in Week 2 but covered as a 4-point home underdog. The difference in the game was the Colts’ inability to produce any points on two first-half red-zone possessions. QB Carson Wentz exited the game in the fourth quarter after spraining both of his ankles.

Tennessee rallied back from a 15-point first-half deficit and won 33-30 in overtime at the Seattle Seahawks last week as 6.5-point road underdogs. Derrick Henry had a monster afternoon, running for 182 yards on 35 carries with 3 TD and his 55 receiving yards were the second-highest for the Titans.

Both Colts head coach Frank Reich and Titans head coach Mike Vrabel were hired to their respective positions in 2018. Since then, Indianapolis is 4-2 overall and against the spread versus Tennessee and four of the six meetings have gone Over the total.

Colts at Titans odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Titans 27, Colts 19

Money line

PASS because as much as football Twitter likes to trash Wentz, the Colts turning to either backup QB Jacob Eason or practice squad QB Brett Hundley is a massive downgrade. Wentz hasn’t practiced yet this week.

That said, I’m not in love with the Titans (-240) outright given how poor they were defensively in 2020 and through Weeks 1 and 2. I’d rather save a betting bullet on the Under than lay more than two-to-one on Tennessee’s money line because of the injury woes for each team.

Against the spread

All the noise surrounding Indianapolis’s quarterback room makes me give a harder look at the TITANS -5.5 (-110). Reportedly, the Colts could split quarterbacking duties amongst Eason and Hundley.

There’s a saying in football: “If you have two starting quarterbacks then you have no starting quarterback.” Isn’t that even more true for backups? If Indianapolis was sold on either Eason or Hundley then that player would be getting first-team practice reps in preparation for a game Wentz is most likely to miss.

For as much grief as Tennesee’s has received for its defensive play through the first two weeks, Indianapolis hasn’t been much better. The Titans rank 30th in defensive DVOA by Football Outsiders and 28th in defensive EPA per play. While the Colts defense is 26th in DVOA and 25th in EPA per play.

BET the TITANS -5.5 (-110) for 1 unit.

Over/Under

Heavy “LEAN” to the UNDER 47.5 (-110) only because we are getting to the party way late since this total opened up at 52.5 before it was steamed down 5 points by the market.

This is a “pros vs. joes” scenario in the market as roughly 75% of the cash is on the Under whereas a slight majority of the bets are on the Over, according to Pregame.com.

Not only is Indianapolis’s quarterback situation up in the air, but Tennessee has a couple of banged-up interior lineman, which could hurt the Titans’ success rate in rushing.

Tennessee is 26th neutral situation pace (seconds per play) and Indianapolis runs the slowest neutral situation pace. I don’t anticipate either team speeding up the tempo considering the Titans love to run Henry 30-plus times and the Colts might play a couple of backup quarterbacks.

BET a half unit on the UNDER 47.5 (-110)

Colts at Titans: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Titans 24, Colts 20

Money line (?)

The TITANS (-134) would stay on top of the division with a win. Tennessee played a good defense in Chicago last weekend and still managed to put up 24 points.

The Titans allow 25.1 points per game to the Colts’ 20.0, but the Tennessee defense is very opportunistic and will be able to force Rivers into some turnovers and pad its league-best turnover differential.

Against the spread (?)

Get better value on the TITANS -2 (-110) by backing them to win by at least 3 points. Each of their last three victories came by a margin of at least 6 points after each of their first three games was decided by 3 or fewer points.

Over/Under (?)

Take the UNDER 48.5 (-110) in a very important division game. The two will meet again in Week 12, and it should be expected to be the higher-scoring game of the two as the Colts and Titans feel each other out in Nashville.
