Houston Texans select Henry To’o To’o No. 167 in the 2023 NFL draft

Houston Texans select former Alabama Henry To’o To’o in round 5 of the 2023 NFL draft

Former Alabama linebacker, [autotag]Henry To’o To’o[/autotag] is officially off the board as the Houston Texans spent the No. 167 overall pick to acquire him. To’o To’o becomes the ninth member of the Crimson Tide selected in this draft and the first player taken on day three of the 2023 NFL draft.

To’o To’o spent the first two years of his collegiate career with the Tennessee Volunteers where he started as a true freshman and was a massive contributor from very early on. After the 2020 season, To’o To’o entered the transfer portal and was immediately picked up by Alabama.

During his time in Tuscaloosa, To’o To’o was a tackling machine as he posted 205 tackles across those two seasons. He also recorded 6.5 sacks from an LB position which is outstanding. I think he can be a really solid piece to an NFL defense.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow To’o To’o and his NFL career.

Late offensive transfer portal additions Alabama should consider

It may be late in the game, but the transfer portal still has plenty of talent Alabama could add.

Nick Saban warned the nation of what might happen to college football if transferring was made easier and more accessible. His warning was not headed and Alabama has been a hot landing spot for transfers.

Last season it was former Ohio State wide receiver [autotag]Jameson Williams[/autotag] and former Tennessee linebacker [autotag]Henry To’o To’o[/autotag] who joined the Crimson Tide and made an immediate impact.

For the upcoming 2022 season, Alabama added Georgia wide receiver [autotag]Jermaine Burton[/autotag], Georgia Tech running back [autotag]Jahmyr Gibbs[/autotag] and LSU corner back [autotag]Eli Ricks[/autotag].

There’s still plenty of offensive talent lingering within the transfer portal and Saban may not be done recruiting them.

Here are a few offensive players currently seeking a new start through the transfer portal.

Alabama leads the SEC with 6 first-team All-SEC selections, earns 11 total

Here’s every Alabama player that made the All-SEC team.

Following another SEC Championship win, the Crimson Tide are firmly in the playoffs as the No. 1 seed and will play the Cincinnati Bearcats on Dec. 31 in Dallas, TX in the semifinals.

On Tuesday, the SEC announced its 2021 All-SEC team, and the Crimson Tide was well represented with six members earning a spot on the team.

POST GAME REPORT: Alabama clinches SEC West crown with win over Arkansas

Alabama, with the win over Arkansas, clinches the SEC West title and a spot in the SEC Championship game against UGA on Dec. 4.

The Alabama Crimson Tide won a key home game on Saturday against the Arkansas Razorbacks by a score of 42-35. With the win, the Tide officially clinches the SEC West title and will play the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game on Dec. 4.

The game against the Hogs wasn’t always pretty, but a win is a win and it definitely counts for the CFP committee.

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young had a record-breaking performance in the game, throwing for 561 yards and five touchdowns.

Running back Brian Robinson played his best game of the year, as well, picking up 122 yards on the ground on 27 carries.

Jameson Williams proved to be a solid target for Young, catching eight passes for 190 yards and three touchdowns.

John Metchie III didn’t turn in a dud of a performance, either, catching 10 balls for 173 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, a few Tide players put up solid individual performances. Henry To’o To’o recorded eight tackles, including two sacks.

Will Anderson tallied a sack on his own to add to his seven total takedowns on the night.

In total, the Alabama defense gave up 468 yards of total offense.

Arkansas QB KJ Jefferson threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns.

Alabama will be playing in their ninth SEC Championship game since head coach Nick Saban landed in Tuscaloosa in 2007. They are 7-1 in those games.

The Tide bounced back after the loss to Texas A&M and managed to earn a No. 2 spot in the CFP rankings, putting them in a position to control their own destiny.

All that’s left for the Crimson Tide now is a date in Lee County with the Auburn Tigers next Saturday before travelling to Atlanta for the conference championship game in December against UGA.

Midseason superlatives for Alabama football

Offensive/defensive MVP? Surprise player? Most underwhelming? Check out the Alabama superlatives for the first half of the season!

Alabama finds itself within an unusual situation under Nick Saban: A loss in the first half of the season. Texas A&M took down the former No. 1 team in the country on Saturday with a last-second field goal.

Florida also gave the Crimson Tide a close game, falling short of a comeback by two points. It’s been a sloppy season so far on the road, especially from a play-calling perspective — another unusual situation Alabama fans are watching unfold.

With a 5-1 record, the path to the College Football Playoff is still there. Win the remaining games on the schedule, win the SEC, and the hopes of Saban’s eighth national championship are alive.

But before looking ahead, Roll Tide Wire has created a superlatives list for the first half of the season. Here are the categories:

  • Offensive MVP
  • Defensive MVP
  • Best coaching hire
  • Surprise player
  • Newcomer of the Year
  • Underwhelming player
  • Best moment
  • Worst moment
  • Second half predictions

Alabama football position preview: Linebackers

Alabama football position preview: Linebackers

Yesterday we started our series of position previews with the defensive backs and today move inside the box with the linebackers.

We are going to look at the four starters at linebacker and then a bonus player that I expect to get plenty of reps. Let’s get started!

Is Alabama in the lead to land Tennessee star LB transfer?

Alabama may be landing a transfer LB from Tennessee that they originally missed out on in the 2019 recruiting class. Henry To’o To’o woul…

With all of the recent news surrounding the Tennessee Volunteers football program, numerous players have decided to enter the transfer portal. One play is former four-star linebacker Henry To’o To’o, who chose Tennessee over Alabama for his final recruitment.

To’o To’o was a member of the 2019 signing class and has been an impact player for Tennessee. In his two seasons with the program, he’s recorded 140 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one interception, four pass deflections, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown.

Now, as he is in the transfer portal, Alabama could be the preferred landing spot for the linebacker.

Hank South of 247Sports reports that Henry’s father, Lese To’o To’o, has high praise for the Crimson Tide, Nick Saban and Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding.

“All the other SEC schools reached out to him, too,” says Lese. “But one thing that we talked about was that we chose Tennessee the first time when we should have came to Alabama, so let’s not make this mistake twice.”

Roll Tide Wire will continue to ost updates as more information regrding To’o To’o’s transfer process.

Tennessee’s star LB announces decision to transfer. Is he coming to Alabama?

With the news of Jeremy Pruitt being fired from Tennessee, numerous players are now leaving the program. One of which being former Alaba…

Henry To’o To’o was a four-star linebacker recruit out of California in the 2019 class, he committed to Jeremy Pruitt’s Tennessee team over Alabama, though recruiting experts thought both programs had a decent chance at landing him.

Now, as Pruitt’s time with the Volunteers has come to an end, To’o To’o will also leave the program. He announced his decision to transfer via Twitter.

With a history of being linked to the Crimson Tide and his then-recruiter, Pete Golding, could To’o To’o transfer to Alabama?

He has not made any announcements regaridng potential landing spots, but surely he would be a welcomed addition to the Crimson Tide defense.

Having an immediate impact as a true freshman, To’o To’o has certainly put up impressive numbers through his first two years. So far, he’s tallied 140 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown, one fumble recovery and four pass deflections.

An inside linebacker that can do it all.

Roll Tide Wire will publish any updates that are made available on To’o To’o’s transfer destination.
