WATCH: DeVonta Smith delivers heartfelt congratulations to Bryce Young

This video shows how strong the Alabama family truly is.

Alabama has officially seen two players from the program win back-to-back Heisman Trophies: wide receiver Devonta Smith in 2020, and quarterback Bryce Young in 2021.

The Crimson Tide join Ohio State, USC and Oklahoma as the only programs to have back-to-back winners.

Smith, who was selected No. 10 overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2021 NFL draft, sent a heartfelt message to Bryce Young that was accompanied by a video. It was shown at the ceremony.

In the video that lasts just over a minute long, Smith talks about similarities between the two, which were both critiqued for their size and height. However, that didn’t impact either of them on their quests to the top.

The Heisman-winning wide receiver also pointed out that Young’s first touchdown of his collegiate career was throw to Smith last year. From one Heisman to another.

Bryce Young wins the Heisman by an astronomical number of votes

Alabama QB Bryce Young won the Heisman by A LOT of votes.

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young was named the recipient of the 2021 Heisman Trophy, which was expected. Now that the voting totals have been released, the world can see how decisive of a vote it was.

The Crimson Tide sophomore quarterback has led the team to a top seed in the College Football Playoff, an SEC Championship and chance at National Championship No. 19.

Nick Kelly of the Tuscaloosa News shared the final results of the Heisman voting via Twitter, and it was not close.

Young received 684 first-place votes and a total of 2,311 points (83% of possible points); second place belongs to Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson, who tallied 78 first-place votes and 954 total points. A difference of 1,357 votes separated first and second place.

What is interesting, though, is that Alabama linebacker Will Anderson jr. missed the cut for an invite to New York, finishing No. 5 in the final votes, but received the third-most first-place votes.
