Johnny Sauter returns to NASCAR Truck Series at Lucas Oil Raceway in 2024

Johnny Sauter will return to the NASCAR Truck Series at Lucas Oil Raceway in 2024. Which surprising team will Sauter join at Lucas Oil?

[autotag]Johnny Sauter[/autotag] is returning to the NASCAR Truck Series for his third race of the 2024 season. According to the NASCAR Roster Portal, Sauter is scheduled to drive the No. 16 truck for [autotag]Hattori Racing Enterprises[/autotag] in the Truck Series race at Lucas Oil Raceway next weekend. Sauter has made two starts with Niece Motorsports in the No. 45 truck in 2024.

Hattori Racing Enterprises has entered one race during the 2024 Truck Series season but was unable to get on the track for qualifying due to rain at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Aric Almirola was supposed to pilot the No. 16 truck. Now, the former full-time Truck Series driver will get an opportunity at a third start during the 2024 NASCAR season.

Sauter doesn’t compete in many NASCAR races at 46 years old, as his full-time days appear to be in the past. However, it doesn’t mean Sauter can’t return for select NASCAR races throughout the season. Hattori Racing Enterprises will likely have to make the field on speed, and Sauter is an excellent choice to get the No. 16 team into the show.

Aric Almirola joins Hattori Racing Enterprises for Truck race at North Wilkesboro

Aric Almirola will join Hattori Racing Enterprises for the NASCAR Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro Speedway next weekend.

[autotag]Hattori Racing Enterprises[/autotag] is making its return to the NASCAR Truck Series. According to the NASCAR Roster Portal, [autotag]Aric Almirola[/autotag] will drive the No. 16 truck for Hattori Racing Enterprises in the Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro Speedway next weekend. This would be Almirola’s first Truck Series event since November 2, 2012, at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Toyota Racing driver is set to have Richard Wauters as his crew chief, which is a throwback to his last Truck Series start as he drove for Wauters Motorsports. Wauters also served as Almirola’s crew chief for the entire 2012 season, where he picked up two victories and finished second in the point standings behind Todd Bodine.

Hattori Racing Enterprises competed full-time in the Truck Series from 2017 to 2023 but has not attempted a race during the 2024 season. It’s unclear how many more starts Almirola could make with Hattori Racing Enterprises or if this is a one-off start. Either way, having more competition on the race track is good, and Almirola should bring that with Hattori Racing Enterprises.

Former NASCAR organization teases big return to Truck Series in 2024

A former NASCAR organization has teased a big return to the Truck Series in 2024. Check out which team could return and the possible track!

[autotag]Hattori Racing Enterprises[/autotag]’ fall from the mountain in the NASCAR Truck Series was a surprising development after winning the 2018 championship with Brett Moffit. The No. 16 truck won 14 races from 2018 to 2021, but the organization didn’t win the last two years. Then, Hattori Racing Enterprises vanished from the Truck Series landscape.

The NASCAR organization hasn’t entered a Truck Series race in 2024; however, that could change. On Tuesday afternoon, Hattori Racing Enterprises posted a picture of the No. 16 with the caption, “Soon. This might be an announcement about an announcement.” The social media account then tagged the Truck Series and North Wilkesboro Speedway.

The Truck Series will race at North Wilkesboro on May 18, and Hattori Racing Enterprises is likely teasing a return. One driver that would make a lot of sense for the No. 16 truck is Sean Hingorani, who has made one start for Hattori Racing Enterprises in the ARCA Menards Series this year. Either way, the NASCAR team could be returning, which is good for the on-track product.

Hattori Racing Enterprises downsizes to part-time in NASCAR Truck Series for 2024

Hattori Racing Enterprises will downsize to a part-time entry in the NASCAR Truck Series during the 2024 season.

[autotag]Hattori Racing Enterprises [/autotag]was one of the NASCAR Truck Series’ most successful organizations of the late 2010s. In 2018 and 2019, Brett Moffitt and Austin Hill combined for 10 wins, with the former winning the Truck Series championship. However, it has only gone downhill since Hill’s departure, resulting in a new journey for the race team.

According to FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass, Hattori Racing Enterprises will not compete in the Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway and run part-time in 2024. This comes as Tyler Ankrum left for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing after two winless seasons. The NASCAR team hasn’t won a race since Hill won twice in 2021.

The new campaign will represent a major shift in the Truck Series. Kyle Busch Motorsports, GMS Racing, and now Hattori Racing Enterprises will no longer be full-time organizations. The Truck Series has a new era that will create new big names within the level. Hattori Racing Enterprises isn’t gone for good, but it will no longer have the same presence moving forward.

Hattori Racing Enterprises’ 2023 NASCAR Truck Series season in review

Hattori Racing Enterprises had a down year in the NASCAR Truck Series. Here, you can check out the NASCAR team’s 2023 season in review!

[autotag]Hattori Racing Enterprises[/autotag] downsized to one full-time truck for the 2023 NASCAR Truck Series season, and it didn’t work out well. Tyler Ankrum failed to make the playoffs again and regressed compared to 2022. Ankrum only had one top-5 finish and six top-10 finishes. The driver of the No. 16 truck shockingly ended up 17th in the point standings.

Ankrum didn’t have the speed to compete with a best finish of fourth place at Circuit of the Americas, and the second part-time truck had the same fate. Christopher Bell drove the No. 61 truck twice and failed to win. The days of winning at least two races per year between 2018 and 2021 feel long gone as Hattori Racing Enterprises tries to turn it around.

In 2024, Ankrum will not return to the organization as he will go full-time with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing. Currently, Hattori Racing Enterprises has no drivers for next season as they search for a competitor to put them back in victory lane. The No. 16 truck is still race-winning equipment, and with the right hire, it could see the same success as two years ago.
