WATCH: NFL analyst strongly defends Tua Tagovailoa amid offseason criticism

Tua Tagovailoa has seemingly become the most criticized played in the NFL. Analyst Dan orlovsky responds to the hate with passionate …

Former star Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was highly praised while with the Crimson Tide. He was considered the top quarterback in the 2020 draft class until LSU’s Joe Burrow had such a fantastic final season. Nonetheless, Tagovailoa was still drafted No. 5 overall to the Miami Dolphins.

Now, with one season under his belt, he prepares for season No. 2. However, fans and some analysts are questioning his abilities.

There were talks of Tagovailoa being traded and rumors that the Dolphins may look to draft another quarterback with their top-three draft pick in 2021.

In his rookie season, he appeared in nine games, starting ten of them. His stats were not too impressive, only tallying up 1,814 yards with a 64.1 completion percentage with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Are those numbers that guarantee him a spot in Canton, Ohio? Certainly not. They still do not raise any red flags about his potential, though.

He was a rookie fresh off of a season-ending hip injury from the prior year, thrusted into the starting role mid-way through the season with a lackluster surrounding cast.

What was he expected to do?

He nearly led the Dolphins to the playoffs with a final record of 10-6.

NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky is tired of hearing all of the hate.

On NFL Live, Orlovsky went on a passionate rant about how the criticism is unwarranted and is solely based on the fact that he does not mirror NFL star Patrick Mahomes.

“I need someone to tell me what he can’t do,” said Orlovsky.

There’s no telling what the future holds for Tagovailoa in 2021. However, the team has brought in new co-offensive coordinators, a new star wide receiver in Will Fuller and will likely utilize their two first-round picks to give him help.

3 Love/Hate draft prospects for Chiefs in 2020 NFL Draft

These prospects make perfect sense for the Kansas City Chiefs but will leave them conflicted.

There are things to love and hate about every prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft. As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for the draft, they’ve weighed the positives and negatives of each prospect and adjusted their draft board accordingly.

Below you’ll find three players that fit the Chiefs and have been connected to them often, but each of those players might leave you a bit conflicted about whether Kansas City should consider selecting them in the draft:

Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor

Love: Production

Taylor is easily the most productive running back in this draft class. In three years at Wisconsin, he carried the ball 926 times for 6,174 yards and 50 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 42 passes for 407 yards and five touchdowns to go with it. Add that type of production to the Kansas City Chiefs offense and I’m not sure there’s a team in the league that could slow it down.

Hate: Fumbles

The big concern with Taylor is that he has trouble hanging onto the football. Between 2017-2019 Taylor had 18 total fumbles, putting the ball on the ground at a rate of once every 52 carries. That’s more than a 50% increase to the average in the NFL during the 2019 season. LeSean McCoy, a beloved player by head coach Andy Reid, got sent to the doghouse over putting the ball on the ground twice in 2019. I don’t see how the Chiefs could possibly bring a rookie in with these types of fumbling issues.
