The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (4-9) and the Toronto Argonauts (7-6) meet Friday at BMO Field for a Week 16 game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (TSN/CFL+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Tiger-Cats vs. Argonauts odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Ti-Cats opened the season 2-9 straight up (SU), and 2-6 against the spread (ATS) in the 1st 8 outings. However, Hamilton has picked up the pace with 2 straight wins, including a 31-28 win over Toronto in The Hammer, while covering a season-high 3 in a row.

The Over has cashed in each of the past 2 wins for Hamilton, too, averaging 34.0 points per game (PPG), while allowing 24.5 PPG. The Over is 4-1 in the past 5 games, too.

For the Argonauts, they picked up a 33-17 win on the road against the BC Lions as a 4.5-point underdog as the Under (53.5) cashed. The cover snapped an 0-3 ATS skid. The Over is on a 4-2 run in the past 6 contests.

Tiger-Cats at Argonauts picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 30, Tiger-Cats 27

Moneyline

Toronto (-300) will cost you 3 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not nearly enough reward.

Hamilton (+240) has just 4 victories this season, but 2 of them are against the Argos. While the Tiger-Cats are playing better football lately, and they’ve won each of the meetings with the Argos, BMO Field is a difficult place to win.

PASS.

Against the spread

Play the TIGER-CATS +6.5 (+100) at even-money. Again, the Argonauts -6.5 (-120) have dropped both previous meetings this season, but Toronto is 5-1 SU at home.

It won’t be easy for Hamilton to come up the QEW and get a 3rd straight win in this provincial battle. But, with both games decided by just 3 points, it should be a close win. Take Hamilton and the points, and feel confidently in doing so.

Over/Under

OVER 53.5 (-115) is a worth playing lightly.

The Over has cashed in 4 of the past 6 outings for Toronto, including the Week 13 battle at Tim Horton’s Field between these 2 teams. With a total of 51, Hamilton won 31-28 to go high on the total.

The Over is on a 4-1 run for the Tiger-Cats, too, while going 4-2 in 6 road games this season.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts Week 16 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (6-7) and the Toronto Argonauts (11-1) meet Saturday for a Week 16 matchup at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (TSN+/CFL+). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Tiger-Cats vs. Argonauts odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Tiger-Cats got off to a brutal start, but they’ve been better lately, winning and covering 3 of the past 4 games overall. Of course, the lone loss during that stretch was a 41-28 home loss to Toronto in Week 13. The Over (51) cashed in that one, and it is 3-0 in the past 3 outings for the Ti-Cats.

The Argonauts have won 11 of 12 games this season, including a perfect 3-0 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) mark against Hamilton. Since a stunning Week 9 loss at Calgary, Toronto has won 5 straight while going a respectable 3-2 ATS.

The Under is 2-1 in the 3 previous matchups between these provincial rivals, with the Over cashing in Toronto’s 41-28 win on Sept. 4 in the most recent meeting.

With last week’s 23-20 win in Montreal, the Argos clinched the East Division.

Tiger-Cats at Argonauts picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 26, Tiger-Cats 19

Moneyline

Toronto (-450) will cost you 4 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s just too much risk for not enough reward.

One has to wonder about Toronto’s motivation after wrapping up the East Division title. Ouellette, the team’s leading rusher, will be rested, and Phillips, the team’s 2nd leading receiver, is out with a groin issue. The Argos also have their 2nd best rusher, Harris, out with a knee ailment.

PASS.

Against the spread

HAMILTON +9.5 (-115) has rallied. The team was a mess in the 2 games following the injury to Mitchell, but the Ti-Cats have won 3 of the past 4 games, while also going 3-1 ATS. The Tiger-Cats catch Toronto the week after clinching, and that’s a good spot.

Will Hamilton scoot up the highway and steal a win in T-Dot? I’m not feeling that. However, it should be able to keep this game within single digits for its first cover of the season against Toronto, a team which is part banged up, and part cautious.

Over/Under

UNDER 49.5 (-110) is a strong play. I don’t like the fact the Argos are going to be without Ouellette and Harris, the top 2 backs. Yes, that could mean QB Chad Kelly is slinging it early and often, but I think the Toronto offense might be slightly disjointed in this post-clinch home game.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-1) and the Toronto Argonauts (0-0) battle Sunday at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network/CFL+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Tiger-Cats vs. Argonauts odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The good news is that the Ti-Cats were able to score 31 points last weekend, the 2nd-highest total in the CFL in Week 1. The bad news is that Hamilton allowed 41 points to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in a road loss, failing to cover the 4.5-point spread as the Over (46.5) cashed by a mile.

The Ti-Cats D was gouged for 354 passing yards, while also allowing 138 yards on the ground. Hamilton allowed 7.7 yards per play to the Bombers, and that simply will not do against the defending Grey Cup champs.

The Argonauts are well rested, having a bye in Week 1. Toronto is the last CFL team to make its regular-season debut, and it has had plenty of time to devise a plan for Hamilton. Toronto won 3 of the 4 meetings last season, while also going 3-1 ATS as the Over connected 3 times.

In the most recent matchup at BMO Field in Toronto, the Argos topped the Ti-Cats 37-20 on Aug. 26, 2022, to win outright as a 1-point underdog while the Over (48) comfortably cashed.

Tiger-Cats at Argonauts picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 27, Tiger-Cats 22

Moneyline

TORONTO (+115) has a pretty lengthy injury report, and missing Ambles and Muamba will be big losses for the defending champs.

However, to say again, this is the defending champs, at home, after plenty of rest. The Argonauts owned the Ti-Cats last season, and there is no reason to really like what we saw from Hamilton last season. Winnipeg went through this defense like a hot knife through butter, and Toronto should have plenty of success moving the ball in its initial outing of the 2023 CFL campaign.

Against the spread

TORONTO +2.5 (-115) will cost you a little more than the moneyline, but if you believe it will be a super close game, then it is worth a little bit of insurance, I guess.

Personally, I like the moneyline play much better, as each of the past 6 in this series has been decided by 7 or more points.

Over/Under

OVER 46.5 (-110) is the lean, but go lightly.

We haven’t seen Toronto this season, but we got a good look at Hamilton. It was trucked for huge chunks of real estate each play against Winnipeg last weekend. Until the Ti-Cats show vast improvement defensively, keep playing Overs when they’re involved. The Over is 4-1 in the past 5 meetings in this series, too, including each of the past 2 in T-Dot.
