Julian Edelman has wild response when asked about Malcolm Butler Super Bowl 52 benching

Well, this response took a turn…

Former New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman tells the best stories. There’s seemingly never a dull moment from one of the greatest wideouts in franchise history.

During an “ask me anything” session on the Reddit forums, Edelman was asked to spill the details surrounding coach Bill Belichick’s decision to bench cornerback Malcolm Butler at Super Bowl 52.

The retired receiver juked that question like he was facing a defensive back in the slot and redirected the conversation to an even juicier story. It was the story of how he and Food Network extraordinaire Guy Fieri got kicked out of the Indianapolis Colts’ press box during the game.

Edelman missed the 2017 season after tearing his ACL in a preseason game. So apparently, he was taking in the sights of the Super Bowl from a press box with Fieri, when things suddenly took an unexpected turn.

“I don’t really know i was too busy getting kicked out of the Colts box with Guy Fieri that Super Bowl,” Edelman posted, when asked about the Butler benching. “Guy had some tickets in the Colts box (oh, we’re friends nbd). Got settled, got my popcorn got my cracker jacks, telling old war stories to the lovely folks in the box.

“Then I get a tap on the shoulder. Colts management found out I was there, and let’s just say Indy isn’t known for its hospitality. Thank god there was a Pats fan with a box next door.”

The longstanding rivalry between the Patriots and Colts runs deep, and according to Edelman, he nearly paid for it by being ousted from the press box.

For those hoping to dig even deeper into the Butler story, there’s plenty of speculation and stories already out there. But as far as Edelman is concerned, we need more stories on his adventures with Fieri.

Now that sounds like a good time.

Guy Fieri’s apple pie hot dog for the ‘Field of Dreams’ game sounds super gross

Ew.

Remember that Friends episode — “The One Where Ross Got High,” from Season 6 — in which Rachel makes what she thought was an English trifle but turns out to have parts of shepherd’s pie like peas, onions and ground beef?

That’s what Guy Fieri’s latest concoction for the Field of Dreams game in Iowa between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox sounds like: it’s an Apple Pie Hot Dog, while will be served at the game.

That’s right, the Mayor of Flavortown got very, very American and combined pie crust (good!), bacon jam (good!), apple filling (what?) and hot dogs (whaaaaaaaaa?) to make a Frankenstein’s monster of a baseball game offering.

I understand the need to do something special for this game. And I understand the conversion of a classic Chevrolet commercial into a food item. But no thank you. Let’s run down some reaction to this thing.

Watch: Klay Thompson drops hilarious new commercial for Nerf with Guy Fieri, Julian Edelman, Sky Brown and Diplo

The arrival of “Nerf Klay” is here.

During his eight seasons in the association, Klay Thompson has taken on a wave of different personas.

The Golden State Warriors wing has been known as “Game Six Klay,” “China Klay,” “Scaffolding Klay” and “Sideline Reporter Klay.” With each nickname, the five-time All-Star has delivered a must-watch moment.

On Friday, Thompson added another moniker to his resume. With a new commercial, the arrival of “Nerf Klay” is here.

Alongside NFL wide receiver Julian Edelman, celebrity chef Guy Fieri, skateboarder Sky Brown and DJ Diplo, the sharpshooting guard dropped a new commercial for his partnership with Nerf. While donning a pair of sunglasses inside, Thompson unboxes his new “Nerf Mega Motostryke.” After Thompson is equipped with his Nerf blaster, the advertisement turns into a cartoon battle scene.

With encouragement from Fieri, Thompson eliminates Diplo in “The Showdown at Blaster Beach.” During the animated scene in the commercial, Thompson’s beloved bulldog Rocco makes an appearance.

Longhorns Legend Earl Campbell delivers gift to Guy Fieri

The Longhorns legendary running back Earl Campbell surprised celebrity chef Guy Fieri with a gift. Of course it was a Longhorn.

It isn’t everyday that you receive a gift delivered by a Texas Longhorns legend, but that is what happened to celebrity chef Guy Fieri. The Mayor of Flavortown received a gift from Earl Campbell on Wednesday. The first ever Heisman Trophy winner in Longhorns history delivered a gift, of course it was a Longhorn.

Campbell played for the Longhorns from 1974 to 1977. During that time he racked up 4,443 yards and 40 touchdowns. He left the school as the all-time leading rusher in both categories. The records stood until another Heisman winning running back came to town in Ricky Williams. Campbell would go on to have a Hall of Fame career in the NFL.

Earl Campbell even signed the Longhorn for Guy, who claimed that the Tyler Rose was his favorite all-time player in a tweet. This comes on the same day as the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose award watch list was released. Despite his fame, that had to be a surreal moment for the celebrity chef.

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri releases NBA 2K21 cover art with Golden State Warriors jersey

The Golden State Warriors have a new chef in jersey after Guy Fieri posted a photoshopped NBA 2K21 cover with the restaurateur to Instagram.

Looks like there’s a new chef on the Golden State Warriors.

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri posted a photoshopped cover of NBA 2K21 with the restaurateur himself as the cover athlete.

In the picture, Fieri donned a Warriors jersey.

Heatin’ up from 3! What’s my rating?” Fieri, a lifelong Warriors fan, captioned it.

We’re not sure how good his shot is, but it probably doesn’t take long for him to catch on fire.

It’s unclear why Fieri decided to go with the No. 68 on the jersey, as no Warrior in team history has worn it, but it’s a logical guess that he used his 1968 birth year as inspiration.

A post shared by Guy Fieri (@guyfieri) on

Fieri’s family moved to northern California after he turned 1 year old, according to GQ. He has interacted with players, family and associates of the team, including when Ayesha Curry was on Guy’s Grocery Games and when Fieri apparently offered to cook a meal for Kevin Durant when the Warriors were making a pitch to the star in 2016, according to the Mercury News.

But as much as he follows the team, Fieri is not going to be the cover athlete of 2K.

EA either did not see the photo, or they did not like the idea of having Fieri on the cover. On Wednesday, 2K announced that New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson would grace the cover of the 2021 edition.
