Want to see Gronk and Brady in Bucs uniforms?

Now teammates in Tampa Bay, take a look at what Gronk and Brady look like together in Bucs jerseys.

The 2020 offseason will likely be regarded as the biggest in Buccaneers franchise history, as the team not only landed six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady in free agency, but also worked out a trade with the New England Patriots to bring Brady’s running mate Rob Gronkowski to the bay.

Gronk, who sat out all of 2019, was looking to come out of retirement and return to football, but only wanted to do so with Brady in Tampa Bay. Remember, back in 2018 the Patriots had a deal in place to send Gronk to the Detroit Lions before the tight end threatened to retire.

Patriots fans are probably in a state of disbelief right now as they’ve just lost both of their franchise stars within a month of each other. And, this picture from Adam Schefter showing Brady and Gronk in Bucs jerseys probably won’t help them feel any better.

Take a look.

Even for Bucs fans, that image probably feels unreal. But it’s happening. Enjoy it.

It’s clear Bucs TE O.J. Howard is up for grabs

Now that Rob Gronkowski will be reunited with Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, will tight end O.J. Howard find himself on the move before the draft?

With the NFL world still reacting to the news that tight end Rob Gronkowski will end his one-year retirement to join Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, there’s one name that seems even hotter than ever right now as we near the draft: TE O.J. Howard.

Howard, the former Alabama star and first-round pick of the Bucs in 2017, has underwhelmed in his three seasons in Tampa Bay. And after finding himself in coach Bruce Arians’ doghouse early last season, the team may be looking for a change, hence, the Gronkowski acquisition.

It’s no secret that Gronk was Brady’s guy in New England for nearly a decade, but many thought Howard would be given the chance to be that for Brady in Tampa Bay.

Adam Schefter has reported that as of now, there’s been no movement on the Howard-trade front.

There’s still a lot of time between now and the draft for something to materialize, though. But, what would Howard fetch? In the Gronk trade, the Bucs acquired a seventh-rounder from New England while giving up a fourth-rounder of their own. It’s hard to imagine Howard fetching anything higher than a third-round pick, and even that seems a little too steep given his production over the last few years, or lack thereof. Still, I’m sure some team will be willing to roll the dice on the tight end given his young age and seemingly untapped potential.

There’s always the chance, too, the Bucs carry these three tight ends into training camp. But with Howard being a hot trade asset on a team looking to win now, he could be the odd man out once draft week is over.

Twitter reacts to Gronkowski joining Brady and the Bucs

See how Twitter reacted to Rob Gronkowski being traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to join quarterback Tom Brady.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport broke the news that former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was interested in ending his retirement and returning to the field. The catch? He wanted to do it with Tom Brady and the new-look Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Turns out, Gronkowski got his wish, as the Patriots and Bucs worked out a trade that’ll officially bring Gronk to the Bucs.

Gronk and Brady were a dynamic duo in New England, and even though Gronkowski has been out of football for a year, he has plenty of time between now and the start of camp to get back into football shape.

See how Twitter reacted to the news.

Fantasy football stunner: Rob Gronkowski unretires, traded to Bucs

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are reunited in sunny Tampa. Fantasy owners should rejoice.

I don’t think many people smelled what the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were cookin’ in the past few hours. Star tight end Rob Gronkowski not only unretired after a year hiatus but is traded to the Bucs and reunited with Tom Brady.

What a time to be alive.

Per Schefter, Tampa is the only place Gronk wanted to play. The ESPN insider credited the NFL star turned WWE wrestler’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, as saying the tight end will honor his one-year, $10 million deal at this time.

So, where does that leave everything for fantasy football purposes?

  • Gronkowski visibly lost considerable muscle mass in his year off, but reports say he’s training hard to get into football shape. Given all of his injuries, it may behoove him to remain on the leaner side. Gronk is one of the best blocking tight ends of the past few decades, if not ever, and the loss of mass could come into play in how the team opts to utilize him. He may be flexed out wide more often than ever.
  • Buccaneers tight end O.J. Howard never fit the system and was in the doghouse most of 2019. Count on Tampa trading the young talent between now and the end of the draft. Could Howard remain on the team? It’s not outlandish, but it would be purely in an insurance role should Gronk fall to injury.
  • Presuming Howard is indeed traded (or is even released), the Buccaneers have veteran Cameron Brate on the roster, as well. He’s versatile and is a better blocker than Howard. Look for plenty of Brate on the field, although him seeing targets of consequence is a different tale.
  • In 2020, Tom Brady will have Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Ronald Jones and Gronk catching passes from him. The offensive line is solid, outside of right tackle, which should be a high priority in the draft. Running back also may be addressed to help complement Jones and build depth.

Fantasy football takeaway

One has to give Gronkowski the benefit of the doubt, even if he doesn’t get a formal offseason of preparation with his new team. He and Brady can play catch in the dark and still school most defenders. There is a major worry of injury with Gronk, and it’s fair to pencil in him missing at least a couple of contests. On the other side of that coin, losing some bulk is easier on his frame, and the year away should have helped him health in general.

This makes him a No. 1 fantasy tight end by default, and the fun-loving star is poised shine in his new city. There’s an intriguing blend of upside and proven returns that isn’t often found in a soon-to-be 31-year-old tight end.

Gronk’s return secures Brady as no worse than a low-tier starting quarterback, regardless of the risks associated with either player. As for Godwin and Evans, but are WR1 talents but may be occasionally game planned out of fantasy success due to all of the talent in this offense. Furthermore, it is unclear as to which receiver will have Brady’s eye the most. We’ll take a deeper dive after the draft and examine the ripple effect throughout the entire offense.

Rob Gronkowski had advice for fans struggling to find toilet paper amid coronavirus outbreak

Not the best advice.

The coronavirus pandemic has led to a major spike in panic shopping across the country. Products like hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, thermometers and toilet paper are flying off the shelves, leaving people struggling to find these otherwise basic necessities.

Former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was among those people who couldn’t find toilet paper during a recent trip to the grocery store. But, in true Gronk fashion, he wasn’t too upset about it.

Gronkowski came across an aisle with plenty of facial tissues left in stock, and he said as he loaded up on Kleenex, “Like, come on now, people. Tissues work better than toilet paper!”

Nobody was more pumped about shopping during a pandemic than Gronk.

But despite Gronk’s enthusiasm over tissues, it’s probably not the best idea to use Kleenex as a toilet-paper replacement. Most facial tissues don’t dissolve easily like toilet paper, which is designed to be used in a toilet. Following Gronk’s advice would mean running the risk of causing issues for your plumbing system — not ideal given the circumstances.

Also, people need to stop hoarding toilet paper beyond a two-week supply. There’s enough supply for everyone if the panic shopping can stop.
