Gronk takes to Instagram to wish his dad a hilarious happy birthday

Check out the video Rob Gronkowski posted on Instagram in honor of his father’s birthday.

Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski may like the party scene in Florida more than he did in New England. Sunshine and beaches offer the perfect opportunity for the three-time Super Bowl champion to kick back and let loose when he’s off the field .

As big a party man as Gronk is, though, it turns out he is not the OG party boy in his own family. That honor goes to his father, Gordon Gronkowski. The younger Gronk took to Instagram today to wish his dad a happy birthday by sharing a hilarious video of Gordy dancing.

Here are some screenshots from Gronk’s story.

Partying is in the Gronk genes.

Bucs are No. 2 on Bucky Brooks’ top 5 ‘starting fives’

Bucky Brooks named his top starting fives heading into the 2020 season. The Buccaneers landed at No. 2, but the top team might surprise you.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers underwent a roster makeover this offseason, swapping out Jameis Winston for Tom Brady and bringing in tight end Rob Gronkowski to reunite with the six-time Super Bowl champion.

With Brady now playing in a Bruce Arians pass-happy offense that features Pro Bowl receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay looks to have one of the league’s most formidable offenses right now. With such a talented cast, it seems only fitting that the Bucs landed at No. 2 on Bucky Brooks’ list of the “best starting fives” (five skill players) heading into 2020.

WR: Mike Evans

WR: Chris Godwin

TE: Rob Gronkowski

TE: O.J. Howard

TE: Cameron Brate

Per Brooks:

“Tom Brady is stepping into a situation that could enable him to put up numbers comparable to his 2007 MVP campaign (68.9 percent completion rate, 4,806 pass yards, 50 touchdowns, eight interceptions, 117.2 passer rating). Evans and Godwin are arguably the league’s best 1-2 punch on the perimeter with a collective combination of size, speed and athleticism that makes them so hard to contain. Gronkowski, Howard and Brate are a formidable trio at tight end with a collection of interchangeable skills that will drive defensive coordinators crazy when Bruce Arians unveils a variety of 12 (1 RB, 2 TE, 2 WR) and 13 (1 RB, 3 TE, 1 WR) personnel packages. If Brady has still enough gas in the tank to play at a high level, the Buccaneers’ offense should light up scoreboards.

So, who landed at No. 1? How about the Cleveland Browns, with their cast of Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper.

“The Browns have assembled an All-Madden Team on the perimeter with a collection of five-star playmakers surrounding Baker Mayfield. OBJ and Landry are sure-handed pass catchers with outstanding running skills in the open field. Hooper is the designated seam runner with slick route-running skills and sticky hands. Chubb and Hunt are high-end RB1-types with the potential to take over as inside-outside runners with sneaky skills in the passing game. In a redesigned offense that places a greater emphasis on balance and efficiency under head coach Kevin Stefanski, the Browns’ starting five could become the most dominant unit in football.

Weren’t the Browns supposed to take the league by storm last year? I’m just not buying this group yet under Baker Mayfield. Give me the Bucs’ starting five with Brady any day of the week.

What are the expectations for Rob Gronkowski heading into 2020?

The crew over at “Good Morning Football” talked about Bucs tight end Rob Gronkowski and the expectations they have for him in 2020.

Rob Gronkowski was a beast among men during his playing days with the New England Patriots, earning First Team All-Pro honors four times and winning three Super Bowl titles. When he called it a career after the 2018 season, it seemed the tight end had nothing left to do but sit back, relax and wait for the call from Canton in five years.

But Canton will have to wait.

Gronk officially ended his one-year retirement in April after the Buccaneers acquired him in a trade with the New England Patriots the week of the draft. Now reunited with Brady, big things are expected from Gronk in his comeback year, where he will be joining an offense that features Pro Bowl wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

So, what can we expect from Gronkowski in 2020? See what the crew over on Good Morning Football had to say.

I definitely think Gronk will relish playing in a more relaxed environment than he was accustomed to in New England under Bill Belichick. That’s not to say Gronk didn’t love playing for the Patriots, but it was clear towards the end of his time there that he wasn’t the same. A year away from the game and a fresh beginning in Tampa might be just the thing to reawaken the Gronkowski of old.

Good news for Brady and the Bucs. Bad news for the rest of the NFL.

Dan Hanzus predicts the Bucs’ MVP for 2020

Dan Hanzus selected an MVP for each NFC team in 2020. See who he predicted would be the Buccaneers’ MVP.

It’s Super Bowl or bust for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season, a statement that would’ve sounded outrageous a year ago. But when you sign a six-time Super Bowl champion, and arguably the greatest quarterback to ever lace up a pair of cleats, championship expectations become the norm.

The Bucs finished 7-9 last season, but clearly have the talent and drive to get back to the postseason for the first time since 2007. It won’t be an easy road to the playoffs, as the Bucs will have to contend with tough divisional opponents in the NFC South on top of a schedule that includes matchups against the Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams.

But Dan Hanzus over at NFL.com believes Brady is the savior the Bucs have been looking for, which is why he predicted Brady to be the Bucs’ MVP in 2020.

Per Hanzus:

“I will readily admit I’ve been consumed by the hype. We have significant circumstantial evidence, from both last season and the season before, that Brady — set to turn 43 in about six weeks — is in the midst of a gradual and irreversible decline. And yet … and yet! … I can’t help but buy into the setup in Tampa. A vastly improved supporting cast (including Gronk!), a proven offensive mind and veteran QB whisperer in head coach Bruce Arians, and yes, that impossible-to-measure competitive fire that rages inside the old man. They can spin it along Patriot Place all they please, but Tom Brady was booted out of town. Even if I’m wrong (I’m not), you know Brady’s mindset is tuned that way. Bill doesn’t think he needs me. Bill believes he already got the best of me. Bill thinks he’s better off with … JARRETT STIDHAM. I must destroy everything and everyone.”

It’s no surprise that Hanzus picked Brady as the Bucs’ MVP. If that competitive fire in Brady rages like we all believe, then the Bucs could take the league by storm this season. Getting Tampa Bay back to the playoffs would be a huge win for Brady, especially if the Bucs make it and the Patriots don’t.

Rob Gronkowski gifts a fan ‘for checking me out all these years’

Bucs TE Rob Gronkowski surprised an employee at Stop & Shop with a gift as a big thank you for years of service.

Rob Gronkowski is coming to Tampa Bay after the Buccaneers acquired him from the New England Patriots and lured him out of retirement to reunite with Tom Brady.

But Gronk still has lots of love for New England, evident by his recent trip to local firehouses to hand out masks during the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the future Hall of Famer is gifting a fan and employee at his nearby Stop & Shop grocery store with a little thank you gift in a way that only Gronk can.

Take a look.

New England just won’t be the same without Gronkowski.

Gronk bids farewell to Mr. Stache on Instagram

Bucs TE Rob Gronkowski bid farewell to his hairy companion Mr. Stache today on Instagram.

Rob Gronkowski hit the field recently with Tom Brady and a few of his new Bucs teammates at a local Tampa prep school, preparing himself for his first NFL season since 2018.

While the future Hall of Famer readies his body for the grind of an NFL season, he figured it was time to bid adieu to his dear new friend, Mr. Stache. Gronk and his hairy companion have been enjoying their time together, but the All-Pro tight end felt it was time to start fresh… at least for now.

Check out these screenshots from Gronk’s latest Instagram story.

It was a great ride, and while Mr. Stache won’t be entering the 2020 season with Gronk, he could make a comeback when Movember rolls around.

Stay tuned for Mr. Stache Part Deux.

Gronk is hitting the court with his Jordans

Rob Gronkowski took to Instagram to show off his sweet basketball moves on the court.

The NFL is hoping the 2020 season kicks off without a hitch in light of the coronavirus pandemic, and with team facilities slowly opening back up, it might not be long before football life regains some sense of normalcy for players and coaches alike.

In the meantime, though, the at-home workouts continue, and Rob Gronkowski decided to once again strap on his Air Jordans and hit the basketball court.

Gronk will be bringing his Jordans and sweet jumper to Tampa this season, reuniting with quarterback Tom Brady. In his nine-year run with the New England Patriots, Gronk caught 521 passes for 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns.

DeAngelo Hall would take this tight end over Gronk

NFL Network analyst and former cornerback DeAngelo Hall says there is one tight end he would take over any other, including Rob Gronkowski.

Rob Gronkowski may go down in history as perhaps the best tight end ever to play the game, and that was before he came out of retirement to reunite with Tom Brady in Tampa.

After sitting out a season, a refreshed Gronkowski will be a welcome addition to a Bucs offense that already features Pro Bowlers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Any player would want Gronk on their team, right? Well, not according to former NFL cornerback DeAngelo Hall, who now serves as an analyst for the NFL Network.

In a recent piece over on NFL.com, Hall listed his top five teammates, and had former Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed at No. 5.

Per Hall:

“Reed was unguardable when he was at full health, which, unfortunately, wasn’t often. I can say with full confidence that I’d take a healthy Reed over almost every single tight end I’ve ever played against — even Rob Gronkowski. Gronk is a great player, but he didn’t strike fear into me at the line of scrimmage. He’s big and physical, but I knew Gronk could never run by me. Reed could run by defenders on every play thanks, in large part, to his basketball background. I’m telling you, basketball guys who play football are different animals.”

Injuries and concussions derailed Reed’s promising career. The Redskins finally parted ways with the tight end this offseason. As for Reed being better than Gronk thanks to his basketball background? Well, let’s not forget Gronkowski has some skills in that area, too.

Rob Gronkowski has a grooming question that might make fans uncomfortable

Bucs TE Rob Gronkowski took to Instagram to solicit some grooming advice from fans.

Another day, another classic Gronk moment.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end has been a source of social media joy during this time of quarantine ever since he unretired to reunite with Tom Brady in Tampa.

The newest game show star has been putting in some offseason training at home, while also welcoming a new friend into his life — Mr. Stache.

Today, Gronkowski took to his Instagram story to show off his latest haircut (and stache), while also seeking grooming advice from fans.

Take a look.

I’ll let Gronk call an audible on that one.

Did you know Gronk’s great-grandfather was an Olympian?

Greg Auman of “The Athletic” explores the Olympic history of the Gronkowski family.

Rob Gronkowski may be the biggest athlete in the Gronk clan right now. With three Super Bowl titles and numerous records under his belt, the fun-loving Bucs tight end is on top of the world right now after unretiring to join Tom Brady in Tampa.

But as famous as Gronk is, he isn’t the first Gronkowski to dominate headlines as an athlete. In a great piece from Greg Auman of The Athletic, he explores the story of Gronk’s great-grandfather, Ignatius “Iggy” Gronkowski, who was an Olympic cyclist back in 1924.

Here’s an excerpt from Auman’s piece, which is definitely worth a read:

“Gronkowski’s making the U.S. Olympic team was a major story in Buffalo in the summer of 1924. Gronkowski worked in the Small Parts department at the American Radiator Company, and his fellow workers there raised $582.70 (equivalent to about $8,500 in today’s economy) to help send him to Paris. A banquet from the local Polish-American Society collected another $250 to help him, and the Buffalo city council donated $500 as well.”

The city of Buffalo even threw Gronkowski a parade before he left for Paris, though there’s nothing in the story to indicate he drank Fireball while wearing a Minions hat like his great-grandson.

Different times, I suppose.
