The Seattle Seahawks rookie first-round draft pick resumed practice on Thursday after missing time with a sore groin. Linebacker Jordyn Brooks sat out on Monday and was limited on Tuesday but was able to return after the team rest day on Wednesday.
“He’s practicing today, he practiced the day before yesterday – got some reps in,” coach Pete Carroll said Thursday during his press conference before the players took the field. “He surprised us that he was able to bounce back. He’s getting a pretty good number of plays today, not quite a full load, but he’ll be out there. We just want to work him back in and make sure he’s OK.”
Fortunately, Brooks’ injury may not be as serious as first thought and could only be a temporary situation.
“It might have been a little more of a cramp than a tug and a pull,” Carroll explained. “Hopefully, we’ll keep our fingers crossed that he is able to do some good things today and come back tomorrow and the next day.
“We’d like to really get him out there on Saturday if we can.”
The Seahawks are set to scrimmage at CenturyLink Field Saturday afternoon in a mock-game setting.
