The Grizzlies have performed much better than the Knicks with zero rest days—Memphis is 4-2 with a 2-point margin of victory and New York is 1-5 with a minus-18.7 margin of victory in such situations. Team basketball is the key to the Grizzlies’ success as they have four starters above 15 points per game, are ranked third in passes made and first in assists per game.
It would be a massive letdown for the Grizzlies to lose against the lowly Knicks given their recent hot streak and a win in this game would make them .500 for the first time this season. Memphis is currently on a three-game winning streak and has won 10 of their last 12 games whereas the Knicks are just 4-11 in January. Also, New York struggles against fast-paced teams and Memphis is ranked fifth in the NBA in Pace. Against top-10 ranked teams in Pace, the Knicks are 4-10 losing, on average, 116-109.
