The Arizona Cardinals announced one roster move on the practice squad because another unannounced one happened. With defensive linemen Corey Peters and Zach Allen both currently on the COVID reserve, the Cardinals added defensive lineman Josh Mauro to the practice squad.
This is Mauro’s third stint with the team.
He played for the Cardinals from 2014-2017 and then again three games last season. He returns to give them depth for practice and potentially be an elevation for games if needed.
Mauro has played in 75 games, starting 39 of them, and has 127 total tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and five pass breakups.
The addition offsets the loss of cornerback Gren Mabin from the practice squad. On Tuesday’s NFL transaction report, it showed that Mabin terminated his contract with the team.
ESPN Field Yates reported he is going to sign with the Tennessee Titans to their active roster, as rookie cornerback Caleb Farley tore his ACL and is lost for the season.
The Titans are signing CB Greg Mabin from the Cardinals’ practice squad to their 53-man roster, per source. Mabin was with Tennessee both last offseason and in camp and adds depth after the team lost Caleb Farley for the year last night.
